Anyone live in Monroe, LA? My company has merged with another and I have been offered a couple positions within the new company. I am trying to decide whether to move or take a severance package. It looks like there are three DZs within a 2 hour drive. What is there to do, housing, weather, crime, economy, etc?

Kansas City area. I do have a couple of opportunities in KC if I decide to stay and although they are not ideal, they will pay the bills. There is also the issue of selling my house here. I am trying weigh all my options.

I lived in that area for quite a few years as a youngster. It's pretty rural, especially if your coming from a place the size of KC. There is alot of farming in that part of Louisiana.

I love the area. Great people, good food. I'd at least travel down to check it out.

But-Back to the OP-I usually spend a week every summer just ESE of there out of Newelton at a pal's hunting camp. Have dear friends in Tallulah. you're close enough to take a scenic trip down the Natchez Trace and I've heard good things about the zoo but I've never been. Got to eat at Gabbeaux's

Monroe, LA? Sucks to be you. There are casinos about an hour away in Vicksburg.

Edit: Hey divot, who you know in Tallullah? I used to live in Vicksburg and had a co-worker who lived in Tallullah - he was a real nut job, someone you might know.

#3 for the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team lives there. We have a running joke that, when i ship him stuff, I just put the town. It'll either get delivered to him or the other family in town
