the chair accelerates at .4m/s down the ramp

Accelerates AT or TO? If it is AT, then I need to know how long the ramp is so I can calculate how fast he was going at the bottom of it or alternatively, how many seconds he was allowed to accelerate.

Well.... he's clearly accelerating long enough to reach the speed of light, which causes his mass to change.... ;)

heres the question (its my homework)

a man sits in a 21kg wheelchair at the top of a short ramp. when the brakes on the wheelchair are suddenly released the wheelchair begins to roll down the ramp accelerating at a rate of 0.3m/s^2. if the net force that causes the wheelchair to roll down the ramp is 40N what is the mass of the man in the wheelchair

i wanted to take a class on dinosaurs but instead got put in this stupid biomech class

a man sits in a 21kg wheelchair

if the net force on the wheelchair is 40n what is that man in the wheelchairs mass

F = ma
m = F/a
F = 40N
a = .4 m/s^2
m = mass of the wheelchair + mass of the man

Hope this helps

So what you are trying to tell us is that you are actually attracted to purple stuffed dinosaurs but are afraid to admit it?

Ok, got it . . . deceleration = acceleration.

F=ma.

So a very small bit of algebra is required.

m=F/a

20/.4=50

50-21 (the mass of the wheelchair) = 29kg (the weight of the object)

Unless I'm missing something.

You didn't include what he had for lunch.

OK, FFS, when you ask a person for help with a question . . . ASK THE RIGHT F'IN' QUESTION TO BEGIN WITH.

That's it . . . I'm out.

GOOD GOD can you see where those are completely different questions?!?

I have a test tomorrow. Help me too. What is the min. distance you can have a const. crane from a 240 kv powerline?

yeah, i used 40.

i forgot my formula sheet and my internet seems to be blocking any type of search for some reason....

thanks a lot

biomechanics has absolutely nothing to do with my major, and i am terrible at math. this class was a bad choice
