ABC news anchor a skydiver?

Good Morning America is having "Live your dream" segments next month. One of the anchors, Bill Weir, wants to relive his roots in skydiving. It says:

Friday, May 7: Bill Weir grew up on a sky-diving drop zone where his father taught thrill-seekers how to throw themselves out of perfectly good airplanes. After an earth-bound decade, Weir's dream is to rediscover his family's adrenaline-fueled passion by leaping out of a variety of planes and a hot air balloon and flying through the Southern California sky with some of the sport's living legends.

Anyone know which dz he grew up on or what "legends" he's going to be jumping with? It should be a good segment to watch!

I have seen him at Perris a few times. I heard he was just out there this month.

I happened to be in the balloon during the taping. I am alive but not a legend :). It would be much closer to a legend if i knew skymama i am sure.

Thanks for sharing the link. Its nice to see some coverage of the sport beyond "lets send a young reporter to do a tandem" or "granny makes a tandem for her 80th birthday."
Its good for us when people see what it's like to be a real skydiver.

Excellent story along with the good visuals from the camera crew to be able to back it up. I saw Lew in the video, I think OB was doing some too so they need some props also since otherwise with out the video the story would not have had the heart it had.
