neptune updater and XP SP2

Hi Tim,

There are a few things to check:

1 - Our IR troubleshooting guide: http://www.alti-2.com/Neptune_Owners_Pages/troubleshooting_ir_connection.htm

2 - If your IR port is external (ie a USB or serial adapter), that driver must be installed in addition to IRCOMM2K

If you are still having trouble, please feel free to contact me or any of our Altimaster Field Support members like Ian (http://www.alti-2.com/field_support_locator.htm) and we'll get you sorted out.

I tried all those and a lot more. Out at SDH today I ran into Hutch and explained my problems. He took it and tried to download 2.3.1 a and couldn't. I then watched him down load to 3 other neptunes on the same computer and tried mine again to no avail. The really strange thing is that I can upload my jump info to paralog with no problems which would tell me that it's not an IR issue, but it really looks now that it is. Oh well, I don't know and I'll leave it up to Alti-2 to figure out. Have fun with it because it is now coming your way. Blues!

You should probably get the Alti-2 folks on the phone and get their direct help solving your problem. You want to be able to get the newer versions of the software loaded.

By example, there is newer version of the software coming out soon that will incorporate some minor bug fixes as well as Training Mode. This is a process for helping people understand how their altitude will change during high-speed and partial malfunctions so that they can practice their EPs on the ground.

When I first got mine (over a year ago) I was able to speak right to someone on the development team and they helped me through the issue I was having. I've never had to send mine in but from what I hear, you can expect great service if you have to send yours to them.

PM FlyingFerret here on DZ.com, he recently worked out and sent information to Alti-2 on these problems fixing them and creating work arounds for use in XP with SP2. He'll be able to help you out.

PM me if you like. I addressed more of a workaround to find wireless settings that were not showing up.

The curious thing with yours would be that several others worked from the same PC. Either way PM me or any other Field Service Rep if you like.

If it has gone back to Alti-2 or if you call them, they will take care of you with great support.
