This vs Next

Recommended Posts

If I'm standing at the head of the line at the bank waiting for an available teller, and they holler "next!", does that mean that the person behind me gets to go in front of me? Do I have to keep standing there until they holler "first!"? Or perhaps if I notice that they're always saying "next!", then I should let someone in front of me so that I'll be second in line, i.e. "next". But what happens if the teller yells "next", and I butt in front of the guy who is first in line and he wants to start a fight over it? Geez, quade, this is complicated. Are youi going to be there to explain to the guy why he doesn't deserve to be "next"?

I guess that "next" has different meanings, based upon the context of how it's being used. In line at the bank, next means first.

Right, different meanings for different contexts. Crappy analogies abound.
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

I think I saw this scene in "Raising Arizona".:D:D:D
