Thinking of Colorado Springs today

Recommended Posts

Even though I only lived there for 2.5 years from 1998 through to the summer of 2000, I have the people who live in the northwest Colorado Springs community of "Mountain Shadows" very much on my mind today. I was shocked to open up a news story only to see the townhome complex I once lived in so close to the fires.

With hundreds of homes already lost, words can not describe the devastation the effected families must be going through now.

It is such a pretty area of the world. :(

All these fires are getting old.
I'm getting smoke right now from the Flagstaff Fire.
They expect to have it fully contained by Saturday.

Tell you what, I'll send you some of my wet weather:

for some of your sunshine.

My rain will help put out your fires while your sun will help us warm up and dry out.

It WAS such a pretty area.
Most of it has burned down. It won't be the same for many many years.

From what I heard manitou springs (houses and businesses) are saved. Waldo canyon is obviously gone. As well as many other beautiful area.
This view won't be back for a while.(see attached)
