I'm speaking at a gathering of DB Cooper enthusiasts this weekend. I personally don't think he survived the jump, but just MHO.

I'll be talking a little about a friend of a friend, Richard McCoy, who did the same thing over Provo, UT 4 months later and made it home with the money. He proved you could do it. Not getting caught later is the hard part.

DB was already in his 40's IIRC when the hijacking occurred so he'd be in his 80's by now. Sure I know a few skydivers in their 80's so its possible.

My friend loaned some gear to Richard. He was questioned many, many times by the FBI. We had t shirts made saying "I jump at DB Cooper's Dropzone" made up and gave him one.
