Especially since this allegedly happened in Ft Pierce, FL and the plane is located in Ft Lauderdale, FL which is about 80nm away... I sure as hell wouldn't want to be flying a couple bent props 80nm! Phillbo 11 #5 April 23, 2015 I bet it's a fake. Bent props lose a lot of performance and I doubt they would have been able to get him off the runway without a serious stall.

Well, tell the FAA that. http://www.asias.faa.gov/pls/apex/f?p=100:95:0::NO::P95_EVENT_LCL_DATE,P95_LOC_CITY_NAME,P95_REGIST_NBR:11-APR-15,FORT%20PIERCE,N7502S"I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
Phillbo 11 #7 April 23, 2015 I stand corrected. I just don't believe anything I see on the interwebs anymore.
theonlyski 3 #8 April 23, 2015 The plot thickens. I guess he's in some trouble with the FAA. Also, made the news: http://www.wpbf.com/news/exclusive-plane-skids-takes-off-without-landing-gear/32514186"I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Also, made the news: http://www.wpbf.com/news/exclusive-plane-skids-takes-off-without-landing-gear/32514186 Hmm... Going too fast, so he raised the gear? On final? Riiiiiiight. And the "Flight controller said there were no parts to fix the plane." Riiiiight. Again. The video seems to have been pulled, but it sure looked like he barely avoided stalling it when he tried to climb after the "touch (the prop tips) and go.""There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." theonlyski 3 #10 April 23, 2015 wolfriverjoe Going too fast, so he raised the gear? Well, I mean *technically* bringing the gear up and belly sliding made sure he had enough drag to slow down and come to a stop, had he not firewalled the engines to get back up... wolfriverjoe And the "Flight controller said there were no parts to fix the plane." At best, I could imagine him asking ATC if they had maintenance available at the airport. I'm 100% positive that there is an airport of suitable repair facilities somewhere before 100 miles away. Central Florida has got so many airports it's crazy that he is trying to use that as an excuse. He just wanted the plane back home. wolfriverjoe The video seems to have been pulled, but it sure looked like he barely avoided stalling it when he tried to climb after the "touch (the prop tips) and go." There's a couple copies of the video around, but yeah, he was working hard to keep it in the air. Didn't make horrible time though, 100 miles in an hour is pretty good time for a plane that shouldn't be flying."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Also, made the news: http://www.wpbf.com/news/exclusive-plane-skids-takes-off-without-landing-gear/32514186 Georgaklis said he's been flying for almost 50 years, and he hopped in his Aerostar for a routine flight to Aero Acres in Fort Pierce with his dog, Buddy, on April 11. Well, there's your problem; He was letting the dog fly."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. wolfriverjoe 1,371 #12 April 24, 2015 theonlyski ...Didn't make horrible time though, 100 miles in an hour is pretty good time for a plane that shouldn't be flying. For a plane that cruises at 240 mph, that's pretty darned slow. Gives a pretty good idea of how badly beat up the props were/are."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit."
