Ankle protectors

Recommended Posts

Anyone know where I can get those laced-up canvas type ankle protectors as seen on Blinc? The link on Blinc no longer works. Thx!

Search google.com for swede-o ankle protection and you'll come up with a bunch of stuff.

Hanwags designed for paragliding (they're boots not ankle supports) while not cheap do provide some of the best foot/ankle protection around.

I agree completly. As I just had my 1st pair of Han wags stolen out of my car (along with some body armor), I could see no other option than to purchase yet another pair. My ankles would be a lot more money to fix than $260, well $520 I guess for me :(.

Actually In a way i do, because if it was another jumper, then the boots will be used for what they were intended for. But assuming from where I live a crackhead has a really nice pair of boots that they probably sold for way under retail. They also stole some random compolation CD's that I burned. they are worthless, you cant sell those, maybe they were trying to expand their musical horizons. ass holes.

I've tried the active ankle system. it's worthless and more likely to injure you. A good pair of boots will probably protect you far more, in my honest opinion.

I wear an ankle protector and Hanwags, I went through my phyiso for the ankle protector - its a nifty bit of kit.

Perhaps contact your local physio and I am sure they will help you out.

I sprained my ankle while wearing Hanwags and I'm thinking it would have been broken if I wasn't wearing them (jump 6 I think, fast downwinder into a load of bushes). 6 hours and 6 beers later I couldn't walk on it at all.

36 hours after I was jumping with one of those Swede-O ankle supports inside my Hanwags. Worked really well.

Thanx for the replies. Sounds like Swede-Os and Hanwags are the way to go. Never thought Id be spending so much freakin money on footware (unless the soles were cushioned with weed:)

You really aren't spending the money on the boots, your SAVING money at the hospital and a lot of pain. Who ever said BASE was a cheap whore anyway? BASE is just like high class escorts, you still wrap it up,:P

Hanwags are great boots and I understand that they fit a narrower foot while the Crispi boots fit a wider foot. I pesonally picked up a crispi boot size 13 which have to be the most comfortable footwear I've ever owned. Both are great boots.
