Saw the same picture posted two weeks ago on another board. They said they caught it in Texas.

Haven't posted here in a long time, but was reminded by your photos of one I took in March of 1983 in Topeka, Kansas. Ice storms are beautiful, but major damage. We were without power for four days.
Edited because file was too large

QuoteThe Pilot couldnt get past the passenger to jump, as the way was narrow, and the passenger was blocking the door and wouldnt let the pilot out.. The passenger wasnt about to leave without a chute
Since they both died in the crash, how do we know this?

I stayed away from the debate in the other forum because, as a student, I don't have enough experience to be debating wing loading with anyone. However, I specifically chose Skydive Kansas after visiting it and others when I was looking for a place to begin my journey into the sky. I chose them for two reasons:
1. You won't find a friendlier dropzone around. I had people greeting me almost as soon as I got out of my car. Everyone on the staff is that way.
2. Their committment to safety. I am not a spring chicken out to prove anything. I am very safety conscious individual in my mid-fifties and want to do everything to mitigate the risk in a dangerous sport. Skydiving has been a lifelong dream and their safety consciousness played a big part in decision to choose them.
I haven't been disappointed in the least.
And we do have fun there.

QuoteDoes pushing the elevator button more than once make it arrive faster?
If you watch people waiting for elevators, you would think most of them believe this.
It does make the ride more interesting for others if you push all the buttons in the elevator just as you get off on your floor.

QuoteSpeaking of realplayer.... I can't get it to work on my computer at all, since upgrading to XP.
I have Windows ME and when I installed Real Player, it screwed up several programs. When I uninstalled it, it must have taken a file that it shouldn't have because now Trillian won't work and when I shut down, sometimes Windows just hangs and won't finish the shutdown. Wish there was a way to convert .ram files to some other format so I could see them.

Okay, I'll give you that -although since I haven't jumped since November I'm beginning to forget what skydiving is like.

QuoteThe target for the suicide bombing was military, not civilian,
I think I would clarify that to be military actively engaged in wartime operations (the USS Cole was military, but not actively engaged at the time).

QuoteDid you know "gullible" is not in the dictionary?
Are you waiting to see who is the first to come back and say it is or are you just wondering who is gullible enough to take it at face value?

Yeah, thought I really had something with my "small" transistor radio (laptops are smaller now). I had the room upstairs in our farmhouse and I would also turn it down so my aunt and uncle wouldn't hear it downstairs. Would listen far into the night and then have to get up at dawn to do chores. Seemed like it was worth it at the time.

I grew up in the sixties in central Kansas and used to listen to WLS on my radio at night.

QuoteI've noticed that fewer and fewer non-Americans seem to be posting to the Talkback forum.
I still see many non-americans on here and welcome the diversity of opinions that they bring to the forums.

QuoteAnything by Ray Bradbury-he's the best.
I was beginning to think no one was going to mention him. He is my favorite. He has a way of putting in unforseen twists into his stories that surprise the reader.
As you said, the best.

Quote"Bill O'Reilly (all shouting--all the time) or Lush Rimjob (all hate--all the time)" "We have talking heads"
Looks pretty intolerant from this rhetoric.
