These are border collies and they are bred and trained to be herd dogs. I was fortunate to be photographing a rodeo from within the arena when a Border Collie demonstration of sheep herding was given. I stood stock still as the collies herded the sheep around me and actually had them herded in a circle with me in the middle. Fascinating!
However, the Great Pyrenees are different. As pups they are put with the flock and raised as members of the flock. Their primary purpose was (and still is in certain areas) to protect the flock.

I just had surgery three weeks ago for colon cancer. Surgeon thinks he got it all but I may still have to have a bout of chemo. I am wearing a bag on my side for the next month or so and then have surgery again to put my colon back together.

If you haven't had a colonoscopy and are in the prime age group, GET THE DAMN THING DONE!

I believe that as the minimum wage goes up, the ROI for automating will become more attractive. Robotics will be able to build the perfect burger. We will see employees at these fast food places making more, but there will be far fewer live bodies employed.

Railroaders pay into Social Security. Railroad retirement has two tiers: Tier I is SS; Tier II is RR. I am a former railroader.

I laugh at these petitions. Get enough signatures and it requires an official response. "No" is a response. "We'll look into it" is a response. Nothing but a feel good program to pacify the sheeple. IMHO.

Have to agree with this as the worst. They were upset that the audience wasn't as large as they would have liked so they purposely screwed their songs up and left early.

The one I detest follows when I make some statement and someone in the group replies with:

What is that supposed to mean? Are they asking me if they are correct in saying that they know? How would I know that?
