  1. Thanks for the info. I know the view finder is B/W etc but I've also heard that the TRV doesn't have certain 'ports' ??? Any info here ? "Africa is not for sissies"
  2. I'm thinking of getting back into doing some fun camera work (free flying) and maybe a few tandem camera. I used to do camera back when Hi-8 was the order of the day. Now I'm needing to know what are the advantages / disadvantages between the TRV19 and PC105 (these are the choices I have) I.E> what would I gain by spending the extra on the PC105 ? "Africa is not for sissies"
  3. I'm totally a lone jumper in my family. They are all complete 'comfort zoned' people. Hmmmm.... starting to wonder if I got mixed up in the maternity ward "Africa is not for sissies"
  4. My first one wasn't a landing....more like an arrival "Africa is not for sissies"
  5. QuoteWhen you have no jumps 10 seems like wow. When you have 10 jumps 100 seems wow, and when you get to 100 jumps you realise that you will never arrive which is a good thing so you can always keep striving. I'm happy with my hundred jumps "Africa is not for sissies"
  6. It then seems that the issue/s may run deeper...IMHO But it still seems unfair ! "Africa is not for sissies"
  7. First off, I'm not an American jumper so i don't know how 'things work' over there, but having read Cathy's side of the story, can someone explain to me how can a DZ kick someone out because of an opinion stated about a rig ??? What exactly is the DZO, it's function and it's 'Jurisdiction ' ? Is the local DZO associated in some way with the rig manufacturer ? Like I said, please excuse my ignorance of the 'operating procedures' in the States. "Africa is not for sissies"
  8. QuoteI've jumper the Mirage, Jav, Vortex, Stunts, Reflex, Dolphin and Vector III. . The VectorIII is awesome, with excellent construction and comfort. nuff said... I couldn't agree more I have just bought myself a Vortex after almost 2 years of trying to decide. And am totally happy with my choice "Africa is not for sissies"
  9. Try, try, try again "Africa is not for sissies"

  13. It's even easier than that ! Piers lives in the same complex as i do. So I get door to door delivery Getting it tomorrow. Fully packed and jump ready..now just waiting for the weekend. "Africa is not for sissies"
  14. I'm jealous. My system was due last week, but sadly I didn't get it in time for the weekend, getting it within the next day or two. Also a Vortex II. Different colour scheme. Full ring (stainless steel) system. Next toy is going to be the Hurricaine 105. "Africa is not for sissies"
  15. I wanted to try it just once ! Been there, done that, got the T-shirt syndrome. Did my first static line jump on the 28 July 1990. Drove all the way home (1hr 20min) thinking about it the whole way. When I got home, I didn't even get out the car. Just sat and thought some more. Started the car and drove all the way back to the DZ for my second jump... And I'm still driving that same route every week end since ! Damn ! "Africa is not for sissies"
  16. OK, I started this whole thread and it seems that my original statment seems to have been misconstrued. My comment was directed at the jump numbers posted in their profiles, not what they actually have recorded in their log books. I'm sure if checked, the two would differ ! Hmm..does that make sense now ?? "Africa is not for sissies"
  17. I've been browsing the profiles and am amazed at how many people I know from local DZ's, have exagerated their jump numbers.. WHY ?????? "Africa is not for sissies"
