  1. That sounds like someone defending him. What can I say but, "the dude abides." "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson
  2. I am assuming, based on your previous posts, that you are very new to skydiving. Why the lack of interest in the Infinity or Wings? I understand people have their own opinions, and should buy what they feel comfortable jumping, just questioning the motive behind the lack of interest. You would assume wrong. I am coming back to the sport after a fairly long layoff (I once owned and jumped an Excalibur). First rig was a Racer, Vector, then Talon. First jump was a T-10. I'm not a kid trolling about smaller gear either like in the Swoop forum. Hence, i resent the Velocity remark. Is not allowed to have preferences or express an opinion, or what? I am not impressed with looks and/or fit of the Wings or Infinity containers. Sheesh, not everything opinion is meant to step on someone's toes. I was never interested in a 190 till I read the thread about the I5 Icon and have been impressed with how their rig has evolved. But is between the Voodoo and the Icon as of right now. Just to stay on topic, does anybody remember what it was about? Wow, I must have missed where I criticized you for your opinion I suppose my own curiosity is satisfied, so I'll just exit stage right. Good luck with your gear choice. As long as I am assuming, I'd assume that the "velocity" that Terry was reffering to, is actually the Infinity, which is made by Velocity Sports. Slurp, I thought you were coming at me for being close-minded and not knowing something about the sport I should have. MY BAD and I apologize. I really thought Terry was referring to a PD Velocity and not the rig. My bad AGAIN. I have kept my "numbers to myself" for reasons that are really personal. Doug, I agree with you about RI. The reason I bought my first Talon was at that time, it was clear to me that they were thinking and looking forward in a way I appreciated. Furthermore, your comment about upkeep of websites and finances makes perfect sense. I forgot how small our sport it and no doubt it is hard to make a buck or two. Thanks to all who clarified and I look forward to getting my knees in the breeze with everybody soon!
  3. I was just citing this as an example of what the website said and what was actually available and how they weren't the same. i.e. Out of date website and point of thread. Thanks for the feedback. "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson

  5. The 176 Optimum packs smaller than the PDR-160. I dont know what the Smart 175 packs like... Maybe ask Aerodyne if the PDR-160 will fit? I could do it for you, but teach a man to fish. Preciate it! "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson
  6. I am frustrated. Why is it so much easier to pick a canopy than a container and why are all the websites so outdated or lacking? Jump Shack (especially), Rigging Innovations, and Aerodyne are worst offenders. For instance, I have received info from manufacturers that differs from the info on their website. All the aforementioned websites are out of date. Icon, comes with cut-in laterals on all rigs, not just up to I4. This was a factor for me due to this thread and fit given my interest in FF. Voodoo, while FF friendly, doesn't seem to know what fits in what size and tried to push me into Talon FX. No worries, but if you can't go to the website and take the info they state as law, what's the point? Mirage website is detailed. Javelin's is OK, at best. Infinity, not interested, nor am I interested in a Wing's container. Get with the program! "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson
  7. After reading this thread earlier today (excellent, btw) I called aerodyne and they said a 188 ZPX fits perfectly in the I5 and a 210 ZPX is tight. That was from the source. That said, she made it very clear that in dry heat and higher elevations, YMMV, maybe by a lot. Now we get into packing skills, familiarity with equipment, location, age of respective pieces, etc. I am not doubting the veracity of your comments as much as I am saying there are a lot of variables. I am fortunate in that I live in the midwest, at sea level, and it is plenty humid most of the time. My question is will a 176 Optimum fit into the I5. It should given that I was told a Smart 175 will. Anybody? "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson

    iPAD

Exactly. It's a niche product and that niche is media consumption, pure and simple. "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson

  10. That cracker made a lot of African Americans millionaires," Limbaugh said on his morning show Tuesday. "And at the same time he fired a bunch of white guys." Rush Limbaugh Well that changes everything for me!
  11. There is a difference between being a jackass and a mean-spirited bigot, don't you think? Finally, Mel Gibson is no artist. All his films are exactly the same. Brave Heart, Mad Max, and Passion of the Chrst were all the same? He only co-wrote and directed Passion of The Christ, which was at best, self indulgent. It's anti-semitic and far from reverential than it is about excess. Braveheart is about as over-rated as a movie can get, unless you're a boy scout and want to see Lethal Weapon transposed into every era possible. Btw, he didn't even write it. As far as Oscar's as concerned, don't even go there. He neither directed or wrote Mad Max. Reread my post. HIS movies implies a kind of auteurism or authorship. I have more sympathy for someone who faces their problems, no matter how bad. Addicts are sick people, not ugly or bad people. There's a difference. Mel Gibson should take his money and go buy an island and stay there. Finally, Christ (if you believe in the bible god, etc) died for our sins, not due to the Jews. The man is ugly and adrift in ways that are beyond belief. "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson

  13. The BOSS is Bruce Springsteen. Sorry, just saying.... As far as the GS is concerned, he did it his way, which was not always the best for the Yankees, the sport, or even for himself. I hope he got some clarity before he left us. Why to people glamorize the lives of those who pass away? The way people glamorized Ronald Reagan and all of a sudden had selective memory bothered the *F* out of me. For whatever it's worth, that deal from 10K to a Billion had very little to do with GSs noggin and a lot to do with location, fans, timing, and technology. 16. David Fincher is amazing, but so much of this is cultural. It's just so dark, layered, and brutal. While long, it built speed like a freight train! I think they handled her history just right. What happened to her can't be tied up like a bow. I am on the books before grad school starts again!
  17. Well done, I thought it was DVD only. Tonight IS THE NIGHT! "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson
  18. Interesting, The Villag Voice's advice was "see it before the inevitable American remake. Which makes me wonder if they think differently about David Fincher at the helm? "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson
  19. Saw previews when I saw "45 Shots of Rum" and it is in my Netflix queue. Looks great and the reviews are good! Btw, The Village Voice like it and they hate most films. :) Also, before I forget, "45 Shots" is far and away the best movie I have seen this year. Artsy-fartsy French, but I dig that. 20. Mercx. He didn't win 7 in a row. He was a clean rider though. Just saying...... "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson

  22. You heard crickets? I didn't even hear them! And as far as the med comment, I was mostly making fun of myself. Not that I am on any, just that people would need some to find me funny. *heavy sigh* "Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson
  23. I am RETURNING to the sport after a long layoff. Without showing my age, I am flown everything from a T-10>Para-commander>Manta>Raven 111>Pd 210>Excalibur 190> Stiletto At my weight, age and level of fitness, I think the Sabre 2 is perfectly acceptable and am comfortable with. But I appreciate the consideration, I really do!
