  1. Wow, next time I'm gonna say I sell ergonomic office equipment so I can be this popular! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  2. Agreed. If that's what you do for a living, and you're good at it, you shouldn't be afraid to say so, and say it proudly. That's why it was a bit of a mystery why he initially just used the generic term "equipment", which could mean anything at all. Funny, but I suspected from his first post he was referring to ergonomic office equipment. Could be because I have had the pleasure of using well designed and well crafted equipment Wow, I came back to this post and found an interesting discussion. I just figured we were telling each other what we did for a living, not making fun of someone's occupation. I sure as hell wish somebody would design some ergonomics for a Cessna, because my ass and back sure are sore after 3 flights a day! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  3. Fuck it dude. Just buy one and be done with it. Get it out of your system. Thats what I do. Buy any and all guns you want on your whim that way you'll have them. Easy cheesy.
  4. Yeah, I bet you guys see all types. Airplanes I can do, but I have a special respect for skydiving Instructors! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  5. I still remember my very first flight lesson. Instructor said, "Don't worry. I won't let you hurt me or the plane. You, on the other hand, are expendable." LOL, I've used a variation of that myself. My favorite line of all though is to get a newbie off the ground and say, "By the way, I'm not really a pilot, never done this before in my life, but I did stay at a Holliday Inn Express last night!" "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  6. Dang!! I shot a Kimber .45 a while back--- I liked it too. I keep looking at those S & W 500s though........ I think one of them would suit me! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  7. I teach folks to fly airplanes. Or perhaps a better description: I try to keep student pilots from killing me! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  8. I believe it! But I think it's mainly a Texas thing. When I was in Dallas, I could not find .40 rounds to save my life. They were even hoarding the hollowpoints. But now that I'm in Florida/ Alabama, it's not quite as bad---- no offense Texans, just what I noticed! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  9. Dude, Gotcha beat on the .40 deal.........got my P99 from retired LEO for 350--- perfect condition...... Now, about the 1911, that is pretty darn sweet! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  10. I think Ive already decided on the Ruger. I also have a Glock .40 model 22, but like you said its just too damn expensive to shoot all the time. Sounds like a good choice......... if my dad would let me borrow his Ruger I wouldn't have to buy my own........grrrrrr............. "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  11. I've been looking at .22s myself. I carry a Walther P99 .40 and love it, but I'd like something with cheaper and more available ammo like a .22. I really like the way the Walther .22 shoots, but my dad has a Ruger and I like it just as well, and of course it's not as expensive. Just my .02--- let us know what you decide! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  12. Well, any way you look at it, our aviation freedoms are slowly being taken away from us........ it's truly very sad-- "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  13. Eh...... nothing I guess other than both accidents being recent. "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  14. Ok guys, sorry, my bad.............. I am an NTSB accident report regular reader and just thought I'd post the link. I know the difference between a Cirrus, C- 310 and a glider. I even know the difference between California and Colorado, believe it or not........ just thought I'd post the link if anyone cared to read it. Didn't expect the third degree.......... "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  15. Yes, I know, just saw the link and thought I'd post it here---- "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  16. Too soon to be out at NTSB.Gov, but did find this one: http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=20100204X45658&key=2 "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  17. Don't feel bad, I had to look it up too! But I always check the Urban Dictionary first, because after all, that is the most accurate resource! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  18. The Urban Dictionary has an interesting definition, check it out! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  19. You'll have a hard time finding it there it's in Elberta, AL I'm sorry dude! I am so doped up with Antihistamines and antibiotics for my sinuses that it's a wonder that I know what planet I'm on! It's sad, too, because I am a Baldwin County Native! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  20. Christmas, I guess LOL! Nah, not really, our weather has been soooo strange that I've missed some flying days, so I know that I can't jump. Although this weekend was pretty good weather, but I worked all day Saturday and got sick with the crud yesterday! Hey, tell Ernie Martha says "Howdy!" "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  21. I LOVE Ernie!!! He was freakin' awesome! I was all geared up to do the AFF with him... but the layoffs happened and I moved. It's all goo though, because I'm hearing lots of good stuff about Emerald Coast in Alberta, AL. "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  22. Chin up buttercup! Think of it as Singles Against Valentine's Day Then you're SAVD!
  23. Chin up buttercup! Think of it as Singles Against Valentine's Day Then you're SAVD!
  24. Yeah, that's true I'm sure............ just need to get my arse out and do it! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
  25. I remember my first tandem. It was funny, we were cruising up to 13,500 in a Caravan, and I'm thinking..." Where's the DZ, where's the DZ........" then, we got altitude, and folks started bailing out the door like it was some ordinary thing. I guess it was strange because I had never been on that side of the fence before. Then, my instructor was telling me that it was our turn. He didn't give me much time to decide, we were out the door in a flash. At first, I couldn't breathe---- but then I remembered, "Oh yeah, look at the horizon, stop worrying about where the DZ is!" Well, after doing my circle of awareness checks, we were at 5,000 ft. Then 4700 ft. "Oh yeah, time to deploy the chute, dummy!" After the initial shock of being jerked upward as the chute deployed, the under canopy experience was pretty dang cool-- the instructor showed me how to fly the chute. We flew a pattern, and we landed. That part I understood, just flinging yourself out the door into what seems like insanity was the only thing that gave me fits. It took me a while to decide if I liked skydiving or not, so I tried it again. That was when I fell in love with it. I planned to start my AFF at Dallas, but then the mass layoff at my job happened. Nearly a year later, maybe I can realize that dream. Thanks for all of the kind words & encouragement!! "If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall; Good times and riches and sons of a bitches, I've seen more than I can recall!"
