  1. Even worse than the length of time you are stuck being married . . . is that if INS catches you . . . the penalities are pretty stiff. . . everything from her getting deported as well as multi-thousand dollar fines and heavy jail time (that you would be subject too). . . It would be best to stay away from this all together man! Zilla
  2. Woooooooohoooooooooooooo! That is great guys! I wish you both the best. So when are you going to go ahead and let the cat outta the bag on the o partylist? Zilla.
  3. Nischalke!!! The suspense is killing me! Been camping out reviewing this thread waiting for you to confirm if that was REALLY what we think!! If so, congrats that is awesome! Courtzilla

  6. Hey Guys! I just got some GREAT news from the DZ. Looks like we're cleared to fly Thursday, August 22. Thus - to celebrate our happiness at not having to deal with construction issues tomorrow - we're expanding the original $15.00 Friday jump price to cover Thursday also. WAHOOOOOOOO! I'm feeling a bit sick I think . Perhaps I'll be out of the office Thursday AND Friday!
  7. Heck yea! We have the otter going all year round! We'll see you in October! YAHOOOO!!!! Zilla
  8. In the past you haven't needed to be present to win - and I don't think they're going to change that. . you just need to be registered at the boogie. Regarding start date. . . . there's some week day airport construction issues - that are kind of iffy (airport expansion going on). Rather than take the chance of starting it ultra early and having all the jumpers sitting on the ground looking at tonka trucks - we decided to play it safe and officially start it on Friday. But - call the hangar at 540-672-5054 today and tomorrow to check the status of the days flights. There's always a chance we'll be flying ;)
  9. The First Annual Orange Boogie is finally upon us! Start developing that cough, cause its time to start playing sick and working on that early weekend departure! What can you expect at Skydive Orange August 23 - 25? ~~Mr. Fabulous the Super Otter (and I do mean "super"). ~~Steerman Bi-Plane Jumps ~~Load Organizing by Max Cohn (Generation Freefly) ~~RW Load Organizing by Gino from the Golden Knights ~~The First Annual Orange Olympics (starting Friday) ~~Saturday Night Greek Toga Party (just a toga and some Teva's) ~~Greek/Mediterranean Themed Dinner Saturday Night ~~Sunday Prize Drawing for all registered jumpers Registration is $30.00 and gets you a custom boogie T-shirt, load organizing, Saturday night beer and food, a live band, and a chance to win any of our AWESOME prizes during the drawing on Sunday. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible! For directions and more information go to www.skydiveorange.com. ============================================================================= Additional Orange Notes: Due to airport construction, there is the possibility we will not be jumping Wednesday, August 21, Thursday, August 22. TELEMARKETERS

I truly doubt that my response to a call at midnight would have been quite as amusing. . . . . Calling at midnight is just plain WRONG . . . . .

    TELEMARKETERS

We had a telemarketer make the grave mistake of calling the dropzone one day. We kept him on the phone for almost 25 minutes. I got him first, and let him talk a bit - when he started pressing me to buy the service I told him he'd have to talk to my "mom". . . I put another female jumper on the phone . . . . . who let him talk a bit . . and then yelled back at me to "take the phone to your father". . . .we put a male jumper on . . .etc, etc. . eventually the last guy he ended up speaking to started asking the telemarketer what he was wearing, that his voice was sexy, etc, etc. .... The telemarketer hung up on us. . . giggle. Zilla

    The Cusp

It was about jump #25 for me. I was sitting in the plane on jump run when I started hyperventilating.....all of a sudden it just hit me that what I was doing was serious and dangerous. That was ten+ years ago - I still get that weird feeling on jump run, but it was either succumb to the fear, or keep doing what I loved! Zilla
  13. make sure your standing in front of the patch panel without your britches on also. . . it adds a little umph to it

    Priceless

In defense of my honey I have to say Dan doesn't "always" look like that in the air. . . but hey .. if yer gonna c#ck-dock.....at least he did it with style. Notice that he did not impede the dock of the other two jumpers (he-he) Thanks for getting the word out Ostrich (lord knows I'm gonna hear all about it when I get home tonight). hehehehe. Courtzilla
  15. I saw it last night as well. DEFINATELY worth the price of the movie ticket!
  16. Any suggestions on a good system for carrying your camera/helmet/accesories to and from the DZ? I'm currently using a plastic "filing box" (w/ handle on top) but would like to get something a bit more substantial and protective. Any advice on companies that produce carrying cases specifically for camera helmet? Thanks!
  17. In no particular order of favorites . . . Anything by Pat Conroy (Great Santini, Beach Music, etc) Anything by Stephen King, Tom Clancey, Ann Rice's Mayfair Witch Chronicles. I'm also a big fan of biographies . . . . Court-Zilla
  18. Mike Ortiz, formerly of the Fly Boyz, will once again grace the skies over Skydive Orange for a weekend filled with freefly instruction and load organizing July 5 - 7, 2002. Even better . . . the jumps this weekend at Skydive Orange are $14.50 to 13,000. Friday night Mike will hold a freefly safety seminar to start the weekend off right. Saturday, he'll work mostly one-on-one jumps, and Sunday he'll start with small groups and work up to big ways, hybrid dives, or whatever we dream up! For those that came last year, you know this will be a fun and informative freefly weekend packed with the usual jiggyness. Those that haven't met Mike, we hope to see you at Orange. For more information and directions to Orange, VA visit www.skydiveorange.com.
  19. June 21, 22, & 23 Skydive Orange in Virginia is hosting the skydiving.com tour with Lyle Presse this weekend, Friday through Sunday. The focus will be on big-way RW dives with organized dives for ALL experience levels. For those not into flying flat, Jari from Birdman International will also be at Orange for free Birdman instruction. Birdman suits will be available for rent at only $5 per jump. Some experience restrictions apply to Birdman flights. Saturday night the dropzone is having night jumps, and if interest presents itself, we can do some night RW. Registration is only $30, and gets you instruction and organizing for the whole weekend. For directions and more information visit www.skydiveorange.com
  20. Believe me . . when I am finally successful in getting them off "my" body . .I'll put the word out on the best way. It was great to see you out there! Courtzilla
  21. Whoo hoo! It's friday, I'm leaving the office early, hitting the road, buyin some beer and heading to the fabric store to get the makings for my fuzzy cave girl costume for Saturday night! Hope to see some of you folks there! Have a great weekend and be safe out there!! Courtzilla
  22. Of course!! That's an Orange tradition. :) Courtney
  23. This weekend its boogie time once again, and for the third straight year we've invited Max Cohn of Generation Freefly to come show us how its done this weekend at Skydive Orange! This year its gonna be a little different however, if you haven't heard we're holding Orange's First ever CAVEMAN-PALOOZA, June 15 - 16, 2002. As you can imagine, this Saturday night party requires you to dress in your best caveman attire. To help everyone with this, we've purchased a fairly decent supply of fur-like fabric for the first fifteen or twenty people that throw in a small donation (just to pay us back for the materials). So Friday night or early Saturday, you can cut and safety-pen your furry jurassic orange attire. An unnamed jumper asked if we could just go naked, in true caveman fashion, which i of course said "uggghhh!" Like usual, the $20 registration for the freefly boogie gets you the opportunity to get coaching and load organizing from one of the most amazing freefly coaches around, and you get to take part in the prize drawing on sunday which includes free and discounted skydiving equipment (audibles, helmets, canopies, jumps, and accessories to name a few). Registration also gets you boned and fed Saturday night. In true caveman fashion we will be serving a variety of "foods you eat with your hands", and we'll leave it at that for now. For those that don't participate in the boogie (boooooo! ugghh, ugghh!) and still want to get your cave on, $10 after sunset load Saturday will get you boned and fed as well. So bring your freefly suit and your prehistoric attitude, and we'll see you all this weekend at SKYDIVE ORANGE!!!!! ugghh ugghh, ugghh!!! For directions go to www.skydiveorange.com
  24. Just to clear up any confusion about an injury at Orange, VA this past weekend (femur). There was no femur injury at Orange this past weekend. Two weeks ago we DID have a jumper break his fibula after a hard landing but that's it. My condolences and prayers go out to all those families and friends that are hurting over the recent injuries and fatalties. Blue Skies to all Courtney
  25. Thanks for the cell number. Actually his name is Ross. He is a jumper from Orange VA, but I believe he was jumping at X-keys at the time. We're still waiting for more updates to roll in, and we're keeping our fingers crossed at Orange. This has been a rough couple of weeks/months for our sport. Please keep Ross in your thoughts and pray for a good outcome to this. Courtney
