    The Unit

I like that the end of each episode gives you some type of answer yet continues in the next episode. I used to be a big fan of 24 but the season just seems to drag on and on with no resolve. I think that show has lost me. Especially with the year and a half delay.

No Man, he doesn't know that Mac knows yet. They are going to get through the mission first and then deal with it. The irony of that is how that statement also applies to the Colonel and Mac. This show kicks ass. I'm so happy it's on TV again. When the hell was Scott Campos on the show?
  3. Aubrey's statement on this is correct. The Solo is the same airfoil as the Pilot, only it is built with a hybrid construction. The main reason why we have done this is for ease of packing. The flight characteristics are the same and the openings are still the same sweet openings the Pilot is known for. As far as if we will produce a 230 Pilot, I will have to check with our engineers on that. I'm not quite sure that the demand is there for something like that. A lot of people have a misconception on using "F-111" for the bottom skin thinking that this will affect the flight characteristics of larger canopies. The best thing I can suggest to you would be to get in touch with me and let me send you a Solo demo. I can assure you, you will be please with how the canopy performs in all aspects, from opening to flight. 4. Jim, I would like to apologize for not being able to get you a Pilot 188 demo yet. I have been on the road quite a bit and have just gotten back in the office. You are next on my list for a Pilot 188 demo, but as you can tell, this is a very popular canopy and all of my demos are out at this time. I should have one returning very soon, which I will gladly send to you. As far as Bill Von Novak's reply in that we sell our demos, this actually isn't true. We have sold some old stock color patterns at certain events, but I try to keep all of my demos, because to be honest with you, it is such a popular canopy that I need all of the demos I have. I will be in touch with you shortly by email to set you up with my next 188 demo. 5. Nico, I e-mailed back and forth with you for about 2 or 3 weeks last month. My e-mail address is [email protected]. I will be in Eloy for the Holiday boogie with all sizes of the pilot. You can demo one there and if you decide to purchase one, either square 2 or my office will have some in stock that you can purchase immediately. Otherwise, our lead time on a customer canopy is usually in the 6-8 week period. E-mail me if you have anymore questions, otherwise, I will see you in Eloy. The delay on royal blue is with the Zero-P fabric. We still have the royal blue in cordura and parapack. I would like to apologize for the inconvenience. If you decide to go ahead with the colors and your container and reserve get there before your main, please have them packed up and contact me to see if i can get you a demo. Thank you for your patience. 7. I lived in the keys last year from Aug. - April so I was able to experience the full winter in the keys. I taught marine science while I was there so I was on and in the water just about everyday. Although the temp. really doesn't get to cold, when cold fronts go through, the wind can blow pretty hard at times which makes it a bit more chilly. Then, days after the front would pass, I would be in shorts and a t-shirt again. The kicker is the water temp. In jan. and feb. the water near shore got into the mid 60's sometimes. But cool thing is, if you go out to the reefs on a boat, you'll be in water temps in the mid 70's. this i because you are so close to where the Fl. current and antillean current meet to form the gulf stream. Short sleeve wetsuits are best at the reef this time of year. If you are wanting to go in the water nearshore, than a full suit will be needed. The crowds are not bad and when you are out of the water, air temps. are quite comfortable. If you are from up north, this will definitely be a nice change of temp and life pace for you. I personally prefer the lower keys to the upper keys. I lived on Big Pine when I was down there. If you have anymore questions, feel free to e-mail me directly. (ie: where to eat, fish, or snokel.) The keys are one of the best places in florida and I love to talk about them and help people experience them as I did. Just out of curiousity, what container size did you purchase? I assume you ordered an I6. If that is the case, both canopies you chose are the max size you can fit into that container and it should be tight, but should still be able to fit. Please contact me directly as I will do everything I can do get this problem sorted out for you. 9. Lets squash all of this. Now that FSU has gotten rid of the burden that was Chris Rix, they are going to come from behind as all of the top 5 teams slowly loose game after game and win the National Championship led by their savior, Wyatt Sexton! Go Noles!
  10. This miniforce system is part of the TSO that our entire rig meets the standards of. This TSO is C23d which is the most recent and as far as I know, most stringent of the TSO's. This TSO includes high weight and high speed testing. You won't generally find something in this sport that is different from the norm. which hasn't been fully tested. This system was tested to the same test used on all other three ring release systems and has never locked up. The other nice thing about our miniforce rings is they are thicker, making it much harder to bend or deform these rings in the event of a hard opening shock. I hope this helps you with your questions. Please let me know if you have anymore. 11. Mark, At this point in the post, I have to feel that you are actively searching for a debate. All I can do is supply you with the facts that I have available to me which I have done. If you would like to discuss your theory more in depth, I have offered and will gladly provide you with the contact information of our lead engineer. I think we have lost sight of the original purpose of this post, which was to quell the fear a customer had about the miniforce three rings system and to provide this customer with a little general background information about the system. I have provided this person witht the same factual information I am able to provide everyone of my customers or potential customers. Please contact me via e-mail and I will supply you with our Engineers contact information so as to not put his e-mail address on the Web. Cheers, Nick Nick Bosco Sales Representative North & South America Aerodyne Research Corporation 12649 Race Track Road Tampa, FL 33626 Tel. +1 813 891-6300 Fax. +1 813 891-6315 Mobile +1 813 679-7190 [email protected] www.aerodyne-int.com
  12. To find that out, you would probably have to pull test each rigs cutaway cable while there is suspened weight using regular mini risers, then try the exact same experiment using miniforce risers. Again, if there are other factors involved (ie dirty cutaway cables) then i'm sure that will adversally affect your experiment. Just like in science projects in school, part of scientific method is to reduce every possible error. The link Aggie Dave put on this post didn't show the entire explanation. It just showed the results we received. If you go to our website, it shows mathematical equations that may help you understand this better. Other than that, I don't know what else to tell you. If you have more intricate questions about this, please contact me directly and I will give you the e-mail address of our head engineer. 13. Mark, Unfortunately, the miniforce three ring system was not designed to address the problem of cutaway cable maintenance. It is a system designed solely to reduce the amount of force needed to cutaway a main canopy based on the weight on the mini three ring system and to reduce the force on the loop. The miniforce three ring system is compatible with most other systems in the market so cutaway forces may very from rig to rig depending on cable housing routing, but the main fact is that each particular rig's cutaway force would be reduced by replacing mini risers with mini force risers. If dirty cables are what's creating a hard pull, then the weight on the three ring systems hasn't even been addressed yet in the cutaway process. Proper cutaway cable maintenance (removing and cleaning cables) is recommended to be done at least every 30 days. 14. I don't see a problem with that. Afterall, it's on our website for all to see. Thanks for checking with me first.
