  1. holy crap- i lived there for 3 years (05 - 08) and NOW there's a dz within 10 minutes of where i lived? just my luck :-/
  2. I just went ahead and corrected that for you.
  3. i think it's spelled "you're" hahahahhaahahahaha
  4. I've been thinking about them -- i'm actually kinda regretting not going up there yesterday (talk about a PERFECT weekend, weather-wise, sigh). My reservation is that I've not jumped there before, don't know anyone, and would feel a bit weird showing up in the middle of a jump day with an out-of-date rig begging for a rigger. Course, I know I should have just gotten over myself and gone, but it's a little late now, heh.
  5. Hey all, I'm trying to make a roadtrip (hopefully) next weekend and would like to have a fresh reserve (my last repack was over a year ago, sigh). I'm not altogether familiar with any of the DZs around here, but figured someone may know of a rigger in/around myrtle beach or the general area, who could give me a repack some evening in the following week? Thanks for any help, ~Mike D-25147
  6. you left out my favorite one: "Creationism"! though it's almost too easy a target. Other favorites of mine: Gun Control (which i voted for) Environmental hysteria (where they tear up the hysteria over global warming) Eat This! (making fun of the anti-science movement) Conspiracy Theories (debunking the JFK myth, and taking on people who call 9-11 a conspiracy) and many more. there has been very, very little that they've said that I disagree with [then again, they, like me, are libertarians].
  7. I didn't have time to scan the 5+ pages of discussion to make sure this hasn't been said already, but: I wonder if anyone in DC (the DC victims of violent crime alliance or what have you), has ever thought of filing a class-action lawsuit against the lawmakers of DC, for passing such an asinine, counter-effective, castrating, and dangerous law as a wholesale gun ban? Even a little kid knows that if you make something unlawful to possess, then the only people who possess it will be the unlawful types (i mean, look how well prohibition worked, and how well the war on drugs is going?) oh well, enough of my rant, it's probably all been said already anyway
  8. wow.. bad week for jumpers from orange jumping at cross keys. first andrew on saturday, now this.. Did this happen on wednesday (yesterday)? If so, that's kinda creepy, cause I actually visited yesterday (along with andrew, on his way home from 5 days in the hospital). Best wishes for all those who were hurt this week.
  9. There was also the jumper who Femured in at Cross Keys on saturday: Andrew Schmitt (regularly found at Orange). He broke his right femur, and his left ankle. Seems as if he won't be jumping for a while, most likely.
  10. haha thanx :) [but - did you happen to compare the 2? i'm hoping other ppl see what i mean]
  11. When I went to submit my photo (for the "amateur photography contest") last night, I noticed it said my photo would be resized and recompressed. No big deal. So I upload my photo, and the result I see looks almost horrible. The picture itself probably didn't need much resizing or recompressing (the original photo was a tiny bit smaller than it ended up being here, and was only 20 kb). But no decent graphics application I know of, when doing a resize and jpeg compression, has a mandatory "darken and add grain" function, as the one here seems to. Is there a way we can submit a photo while having the system not touch it? I can meet any physical / filesize specs you dictate. (I've attached a copy of the original... and the submitted version is easily found in the amateur photography submitted photos - i just submitted it last night, so it should be fresh). Thanks. ~Mike C-31604
  12. >Does anyone here actually live in New Jersey? Do you >people understand HOW FUCKING COLD IT'S GOING TO >BE OVER THE WEEKEND? Actually, it might be rather warm. *crossing fingers*
