This thread is the perfect example of why the environment is so fucked in the first place. Everyone has this attitude that whatever they're doing is ok as long as there is someone else doing something worse. I think we all know by now that flying a cargo plane all day isn't good for the environment. I doubt any of us are about to give up the sport because of this, but we can at least take some responsibility and try and compensate in other ways.

i got yelled at right before my aff2 when showing my ep's with one hand on each. we were taught to not only have both hands on the cutaway but also clear the cable with your left hand in a sweeping motion. this was explained to me that since student rigs are not custom fit, the cutaway cable might be longer than desirable and might not completely release with one arm's length pull. I could only assume there was an incident where this had happened and spent a fair amount of time burning this motion into my head.

..and fuck i'm nervous! i dont know why, i guess its also the whole new process of renting a rig, checking it myself, making sure im in the right exit order. is it strange that im the most nervous for this one? i dont think i worried much about any of my aff jumps. and what kind of exit did you guys do for your first jumps? im thinking of just tracking back and forth perpendicular to the jump run. i dont know why im putting so much thought into this

The tunnel was the best thing i could have possibly done for my aff. Aside from not spinning out of control, the best thing will be your confidence. Being sure you wont spin out of control will really help your nerves. But do 10 minutes at first, 30 minutes will kill you your first time.

I've discussed this with my flight attendant friend too.. you can even strap it on mid flight. Be sure to also request an emergency exit seat. You can only be voted off a flight if you're disruptive.

Just out of curiosity.. what was wrong with the existing csh? and what exactly does "overhauling" fedora consist of?

But I just figured maybe someone here has had the same problem.. Anyway, even since my first jump three months ago, I've always had a weird taste of blood in my mouth when i land. I didn't really think much of it, I guess I attributed it to sensory overload. But after my last jump (AFP4) I was spitting a little bit of blood for a day or so after. On top of this, Ive always gotten extremely motion sick in tandem jumps. I puked after two of four tandems. I don't get so sick now that I'm flying solo, but its definitely not great. I still have a hard time blowing my ears out, and it still feels like i have water in my ear if i bend over. Now I'm no doctor, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that your ears and throat are somehow connected and that the water i feel is actually blood and its somehow dripping into my throat. Anyone hear of anything like this before?
