im not saying i disagree with either of ya at all, just wanted to look at it from a different point of view....always gets some interesting responses :D And Dave, i would agree that it would be nice for all the camera folks to be able to use a DSLR on full manual mode to get those nice shots. Unfortunately it is seeming to become a lost art with most opting for a P&S auto setting on the SLR or a P&S camera.....not saying that's bad but if you can manipulate the manual setting you can get some pretty sweet shots......and the only reason I can do that is from underwater photography....takes a ton of work to get a colourful shot, auto does not work at all where as above water, you can get a decent shot with just auto. A little bit of learning can go a long way to get a really good still shot. I totally agree that pride should come into the frame as well. I just put up some 11x14 prints up in my bathroom from some of my diving (sorry i keep use diving as a reference, I dont camera fly stills) and the quality looks professional. Just playing devils advocate a bit here, but lets have a look at it from the POV of the camera flyer. Is he/she getting paid anymore money for using high end cameras as opposed to go-pros? What incentive is there for the camera flyer to pay a ton of money for a super high end setup when they are getting the exact same as someone flying go-pros. It is the DZ that profits, not the camera flyer. Maybe if the DZ would supply the camera flying gear that would be a different story..... Will be interesting to see who Edmonton picks in the Entry Draft. They just won the draft lottery. 2nd year in a row they have 1st pick. As for the MTL/BOS series, I know there's lot of bad blood between the 2 teams, but I think Montreal has to play a disciplined game. They can't afford too many penalty kills. So kind of an odd question and im pretty sure i know the answer however id rather here it from the riggers I was having a conversation with a diver friend of mine about how metal buckles are more robust then plastic. He then went on to tell me about "skydive rated" plastic buckles and that a skydive instructor friend of his had them on his rig.....seemed odd to me. Im in afghanistan right now and pretty well everything but chocolate, and similar items dont make it. Candy makes it and is nice and gooey when it gets here haha. Its sad but most likely true. I think tables are quite important. Especially with Nitrox and deco/tech diving further down the line. I know at the shop that i routinely dive with, all the open water students have to complete tables not just on course but for their open water dives, and for subsequent courses like the advanced course and rescue course. DM's and instructors have to be up on them all the time. This was of course a few years ago when the shop was still teaching acuc. They have since switched to padi....but the instructors are all still the same and so far the skills and drills have been kept.....but im sure that wont last as new instructors become certified The Altitude above you, the runway behind you, and the fuel not in the plane are totally worthless Dudeist Skydiver # 10

Both are very highly recognized. You will have no problems getting air fills, spots on charters, etc with either organization. Having said that, the minimum standards to which an open course is taught...naui has much higher standards. PADI barely requires the minimums to be taught to new students. If you do take a padi course, i hope the instructors teach above and beyond the minimum requirements because it just doenst cut it. One thing that really makes me not happy that in a nitrox course, padi no longer teaches tables....all computer stuff....bad bad ju ju. its funny, ive heard a lot of wings fans complaining about the reffing....sure it may not have been great BUT they seem to forget the first round where the refs favored them very heavily. East i dunno who to take, too close, but pens are my team so i'll go with them. West, id love to see phoenix take it, underdog team that will give everyone trouble. either them or the canucks.
