  1. Do you mean the most recent Nationals, or do you mean "have you ever competed" or "have you ever participated"??? Quote Let me rephrase: How many USPA members participated/competed at the past 2004 Nationals at Perris, Ca.?
  2. Curious how many USPA members participated in the USPA Nationals. Chris Welker "The only two people that care about your bad health is your Doctor and your Funeral Director"
  3. I. V. P.C. in Minier, Illinois. The place is operated as a club and the vibes could not be better. My hat is off to everyone connected with IVPC because they represent exactly what skydiving is about,...FUN. Chris Welker
  4. Maybe '05 will be the year skyride takes a dive! Chris Welker
  5. Why don't the effected(by skyride) DZ's get together and file a class action law suit. I'm sure if Larry Hill can find a skydiving attorney to sue Mike Mullins (still on going), then surely there is a skydiving attorney that would sue Ben and Cary. So what is it going to cost? How much is involved? Where do we start? Chris Welker
  6. I am about tired of the attacks directed at Mike Gruwell and Chuting Star Rigging, so let's keep this thread a bit more civil and on track. Targetting Mike because his rigging loft is in that building and because he trains with his four-way team there on occasion just doesn't sit well with me.Quote If you associate yourself and defend people who do not have the sport of skydiving in their best interests, do not get upset when you have to put up with the HEAT. Chris Welker
  7. If everyone refused to do business with anyone supporting or doing business with skyride they would go away!Quote I agree 100%. Now we need everyone to commit and follow through. Please do not spend any of your MONEY with Ben, Cary or other associates. We could send an e-mail to all the DZO's around the country informing them, too. We need more action, now! Chris Welker
  8. YES, yes I am. FYI at the 2001 Summer BOD meeting the Full Board voted 16/3/1 to IMPEACH John DeSantis (motion 9). The 3 NO votes came from Jess Rodriguez, Barry Chase, and Larry Hill, with DeSantis abstaining. He broke the RULES. Chris Welker
  9. Contact YOUR USPA representative and tell them you want a code of ethics put on the agenda and adopted at the next meeting. Quote Mike Mullins already tried to get it done and the motion was voted down. Chris Welker
  10. The bottom line in all this is WE the Members of the USPA got sued by Michael Hawkes because JOHN DeSANTIS acted outside the RULES of OUR association.
  11. I was watching something on the Travel Channel this past weekend and they were doing a story on a CONCIERGE Service.(notice the 1st 3 letters of CON-cierge) They would arrange just about anything for extreme adventure seekers. The cost of their services provided were 5%-10% added to the cost of the adventure, not bad. I think these type of services are GREAT. At my home dz they charge $175 for the tandem and $75 for vid/stills or $250 total. If a concierge service called and said "we are going to send you a customer to do a tandem skydive, and they have be instructed to pay you $277.78.( which is 250x1.1111 and generates a TRUE 10% gross profit) Would you PLEASE take good care of them and send us our $27.78 fee to this address?" I am not a dzo, but this deal sounds good to me for all persons concerned.( as long as deception wasn't used) DZO's and everyone involved with this sport need to realize that we are in a niche market of extreme sports. Our #'s are VERY SMALL when you start looking at the BIG PICTURE. (approx. 32,000 USPA members) Everyone needs to take actions against those that seek to CANNIBALIZE and destroy our sport.Ben and Cary should be held responsible for what they have done so far by revoking their personnel and group uspa memberships. Chris Welker
  12. How about boycotting ASC and all of their vendors, suppliers, and any other enterprises that these guy are connected with. Chris Welker
  13. Acquired: 1800skyteam.com 1800skyteam.net 1800skyteam.org 1800-skyteam.com 1800-skyteam.net 1800-skyteam.org Who wants em? ----- ~~~Michael *** Maybe the True Skydivers of DZ.com could assist a little with the purchase? Chris Welker
  14. I have 2nd hand knowledge that Ben and Cary are at it again under the name "SkyTeam" a.k.a. skyride, steal your money , whatever.
  15. WindLine, Inc. phone # is 1-863-679-9009. They are back up and running. I am a Windline dealer and had some suits on order when Charley hit Lake Wales and there was a delay: however, they took care of business as usual. Blue Ones, Chris Welker
  16. Thank You very much to all the Skydivers that helped make the 13th Annual WTS Halloween BoO-gie a huge success.I hope everyone had a wonderful time. Blue Ones, Chris Welker BoO-gie Director
  17. Why give the student 1 more altitude that could infact, make them fixated and not pull. If they are locked on to the altimeter, they aren't going to see any signal you give them because they are locked on to the altimeter. Freefall isn't free and especially for student and I don't think its fair to them. What was wrong with at 5500 arch, wave off and pull. The experiences I've had with students locking have not been very successful or helpful and any way shape or form. I find the students that is "locking on" at 6000 ft are more likely to pull high or get really tense on deployment and unstable. Where in the SIM does it say they should do this? Where did this "locking on" come from? Is this new to the AFFI course? Judy
  18. 1-800-skydive is not quite the same thing as Skyride, because when you call the number you get a real drop zone that represents itself as the same entity to everyone, not as SkydiveSomethingelse. It's regional call forwarding. It's not the same thing as leading people to believe you are in one place and trying to get them to go to another.Quote Well here in Tennessee, if you call 1-800-SKY-DIVE you will get Atlanta Skydiving Center (ASC) and they will have you driving 6-7 hours past at least 2 good DZ's to make a skydive. So, what is your point? Chris Welker
  19. Quote estimated attendance? festivities (non-jumping) should start about when?*** 125-150 is the usual attendance. The supper will be served @ 7:00 p.m. followed by the top 10 raffle and debauchery. Jell-O, Jell-O, Jell-O Chris Welker
  20. The weather for this weekend in Memphis is shaping up great. It's going to be a BOO-gie blow out! Chris Welker
