  1. I'm glad to hear that you are ok ...

It has been (and will continue to be) a tough time from the sounds of it ...

My condolences to all involved in the plane crash including family and friends and best wishes and hopes that NZ recovers quickly from the earthquake ...

    James

Who else wants to join us and jump the superfast BEECH 99 and Dornier? B|B|

  3. Well we've decided to add a Dornier to the BEECH 99 for the BOOGIE - so now you're only choice is WHICH FAST PLANE do you choose?? :P

So there it is - a UKS BOOGIE with a BEECH 99 / DORNIER / Helicopter and 3 (YES THREE) hot air balloons ...

Not to mention the 17 load organisers and coaches, 15k altitude and FREE CAMPING, HOT SHOWERS, demo canopies etc!!

And with jumpers registered from the UK / Norway / Germany and other European countries it's going to be MEGA B|B|

So don't forget to register and we'll see you there ...

  4. It's always difficult, but one thing i have learnt is that you have to live your life and to also be true to yourself.

If it doesn't excite your colleagues then so be it, but it clearly excites you - so "you go for it girl" :)
Enjoy the reading and if i was in your shoes then Spain is looking like a good option !!

  5. Well you have a couple of options - you can rough the UK weather and try to do your AFF in Winter (it is possible!)..

Or a quick trip to somewhere hot - Spain or America to do your AFF and then back to 'the rock' / the UK with your A licence :)
Then you can come and jump with us all next year :P

  6. I have jumped at Langar and Cark and both are good DZ's.

If you wanted to - you could come and do AFF here at Dunkeswell in Devon (but that's a bit further away) ...

If you are planning on doing it before the 24th Sept you could come to the UKS BOOGIE and join in the fun :)

  7. We now have a BALLOON confirmed for the BOOGIE - so now we have the fastest (permanently based) jump plane in the UK / Helicopter jumps / Balloon Jumps and a FLEET of TURBINE aircraft ...

Add into the mix 200 jumpers - approx 20 load organisers and coaches - every discipline from CRW / FF / FS / WS plus a HUGE party and a great DZ ... :)
So what are you waiting for???

    REGISTER HERE http://www.ukskydivers.com/uks-stuff/uks-boogie-registration.html

AND WE'LL SEE YOU AT THE BOOGIE !!! B|B|

  8. It probably is a little easier for women to fit in to the DZ but as the others have already said that i'm sure it's your attitude (and not your other assets) that helps you fit in... (although i've never been jealous of a hook knife before :P )

However if you ever get the itch to come and jump in Europe i'm sure you'll find the atmosphere is just as good here ...

Enjoy your gypsy life and enjoy every minute of getting to meet such a great bunch of people that make up the skydiving community...

    Have fun!

    James

  9. Hi Guys

Jarno and Macca will be WS Load Organising and taking people for their FFC's during the UKS Boogie 24-26th September at Dunkeswell Airifeld in the UK.

We already have several experienced WS flyers joining us and would love to have more in the flock :)
With Demo suits to try, a super fast BEECH 99 taking us to 15k in 8 mins plus two more turbines and a helicopter it's well worth coming to join in the fun!! :)
So whether you are a wingsuit virgin or you're a nylon addict - come and party with us ...

Register here as places are limited!! http://www.ukskydivers.com/uks-stuff.html

    See you in the skies!!

    James

  10. Hi Chris

I seem to remember that Nethers were charging £50 a load back in 2008 - some other DZ's have run loads since but at least one of those has made a loss whilst doing it ...

The cheapest way to make a helicopter jump at the boogie is to book a load between 4 people as it ensures that every load is full and you each save a few quid against the single ticket price ...

Still i'm pleased that you are coming and hopefully we'll all have a complete blast as it looks like it's going to be mega and with Jarno and Macca organising there we should make some great wingsuit jumps as well :)

  11. Sorry Mik

Unfortunately the helicopter here costs a lot more to bring in!!

If you can bring one of your helicopters here for £12 a slot - you're hired!! B|B|

Sorry to hear that you won't be coming - it's going to be a great event and lots of fun ...:)
For the hundred plus people that have already responded - see you there !!!

All brands are currently an option but the Basik Seven seems pretty sweet. I'm just not sure if all of the different and non-traditional features are safe and not gimmicky. Hoping some experienced folks could take a look at container and tell me what they thought. I am particularly interested in any thoughts on the Magnetic D-bag, unique AAD cutter placement and magnetic throw out pouch (boc). Why would or wouldn't you consider it over say a Mriage or Vector or Jav or Icon?

    Thanks!

The Seven is a very COOL rig :)
Several of the features are very innovative rather than gimmicky ...

We had a really good response from everyone who saw the rigs at the Skydive Expo in Deland and at other shows that we have attended...

Because of the extra-thick spacer foam it is also a very comfortable container as well ...

The only reason for not considering it would be a lack of personal experience (if you've never seen one) or if you personally have the 'herd' mentality of wanting what everyone else has ... :P

Everyone who has jumped one of my Sevens has loved it ...

    So go for it !!!
