  1. Ok folks, looks like he's under a few more IDs. Frederick Anderson ([email protected]) from NY, is what he called himself with his attempt to purchase my rig. He actually sent a "company" check that looked legit. It sayed it was a cert. check form Wells Fargo for 4500. This was 1000 over the amount for the rig. He then pushes to have the remaining 1000 sent to an associate for western union in the UK. I thankfully was unable to get to western union online until last night, after depositing the check last friday. I found that the funds had been retracked from my account and I'm in the hole for a large sum of money. The A$$hole actually called me (with a blocked id of course) asking where the money was and of course I inquired the same. He immediately started say to check my email, that he couldn't understand me. Of course, I have not heard from him since. I'm on the way to the bank attmpt to get some answers. The had shown that the check had cleared, but then pulled the money. Now I'm out a large sum of money.....but I guess on the bright side, I still have my rig to sell. This is one of the last emails he sent: Justin,i tried to call you some couple of hours ago and i just got of the phone trying to reach all to no avail, but i dropped you a voice message, hope you get it. wel l,i just want to know if you got the messages i have been sending you?i was just curious and worried when i didn't hear from you after you sent me a mail that you received the payment that was made out to you by my supervisor,i want you to send the balance through WESTERN UNION,i hope you are conversant with Western Union and you will be charged for sending the money and you can deduct that from the funds that you are sending to the shipping company and once that is done,i need you to mail me the 10 digits control number M..T.C.N(Money Transfer Control Number) on the receipt you got from the Western Union and every other necessary information on the receipt.i hope this is clear?i look forward to hear from you a prompt and positive response and if there is anything you feel you would like me to know, pls don't hesitate to drop me a message.. .once again, here is the shipping comapny payment information below where you will be required to remit the balance: NAME:Name.... Peter Clayton ADDRESS:23 Ridge Way Golder's Green London,Uk. i await your swift response.thank you God Bless, Fredrick.. I'm wondering if the police will be able to track this "peter clayton" (if he exists). My reasoning behind this is because in order to receive money through western union, you must fill out a form with all off your info, but you must also provide a valid picture ID.
  2. Well to give you some reference..... I just put together my G4 M2 w/ Smart 135 (went into the bag very nicely, but into the container like a brick) and a Safire 1 149 (approx. 135 when compared to safire 2's). Supposedly, you should be able to place a 143 into the M2... But I wouldn't try it...LOL From my understanding the Smart reserve pack slightly "smaller" than other brands. Overall the rig looks and feel great, but the 135 reserve is tight and you feel it. Hope this helps.
  3. I love my pillows! LOL Cutaway - "Dohhh!!!" Reserve - "Mmm Beer"
  4. If you want the quality and appearance of OURAGAN....think LIQUIDSKY suits. Julio at LIQUIDSKY was a NO BS, Customer Service is Number one priority, down to earth kinda' guy. He was honest up front and it sold me on the product prior to my order. I had a Custom LS suit in less time than quoted, exactly what I ordered and the fit/finish was astonishing. (Even a couple of OURAGAN owners @ eloy were interested in LS for there next suit after they saw mine) Price/Quality/Customer service...Liquidsky has found the obvious winning combination. Hands down Julio has a customer for life.....as long as the prices stay reasonable....>LOL>
  5. I called LIQUIDSKY and spoke with Julio. What great customer service! Most likely I will order from Julio based upon that fact alone. There is a lot to be said for good customer service. Even if the product doesn't always come out as expected, customer service sells me everytime.
  6. Actually I was in contact with Ouragan and it appeared to be too much of a hassle to get my questions answered. I love the suits that I've seen and for the price, they should be flawless... Great suits w/out a doubt, but just not sold on 'em right now...but who knows.....at this point anyone is up for my business except KURUPEE. I have had two friends who have ordered KURUPEE and have nothing but good things to say..considering the price. But certainly they need to learn how to pick up a phone or return an email. Just give a customer a heads up....or take down their site.
  7. I'm not so much worried about the time frame.....well, I wasn't until now. I just am amazed at the lack of communication or even the ability to contact them. I'll look in to liquid sky... I was placing an order with Ourgan, but at last minute changed my mind and decided to save a little money....Afterall, I'm not wanting anything custom, just a well fit FF suit.
  8. Does anyone know a way of making direct contact with Kurupee? I made an order/purchase approx. 7 weeks ago and have attempted to contact them regarding a change or even approx completion date for 3 weeks with no response. No return on the phone messages or emails. The website says delivery in 3 weeks, but I didn't expect it to be this big of a hassle just to make contact with a company.
  9. I recently demoed the Nitro 150 and I must say I was surprised. I was NOT impressed with the exception of the openings and the ease of control. The openings are absolutely AMAZING! BABY SOFT is the only term that expresses what I felt. As for overall performance, I was disappointed. I was expecting more response out of the toggle inputs and the flare left a bit to be desired. Now mind you, my comparison is against the Safire2 149 that I've been flying for 40+ jumps. After many phone calls and reading up on the Nitro, I suspected this would have been the canopy for me...I was wrong. The Safire fits me like a glove. I will one day give the NITRO another shot. But for now these are my opinions.
  10. What gear are you jumping, how many jumps, ect.? I'm AD USAF and I made my first skydive 3 years ago this month. My wife paid for my first jump for my 25th bday. I didn't get hardcore into it until this year. We don't make a lot on the paycheck so I picked up a second job @ a local hospital. Mind you I'm a Med Lab Tech with experience, but while I was doing clinicals I changed oil at the local Valvoline. Bunt arms, but extra money!!!! It was already stated.....where there is a will...there is a way!
  11. Thank you for the comments and I appreciate the time taken to post a resonable response. I decided on a 149 Safire 2. I'm comfortable under this particular canopy and enjoy it after demoing a couple of canopies. I'll sit under it for a couple undred jumps and squeeze out the potential over the next year and potentially two seasons. 30+ jumps under it solidified my choice..........
  12. I'm certainly not going to play the keyboard warrior with the site, but I will make a simple reply and submit food for thought. I respect the opinions and experience of those who have walked down "that road". However, we all have to make our own decisions with eyes wide open and understand our limits while being responsible. Trust me when I say that I've spent weeks on end reading all of the stories, reports, opinions, and other misc. material posted on this particular forum. I've also spoken with others that I jump with and have far more years of experience and discussed with them my choices. They support my decision and know that I am not a danger to myself or other in the air around me. As my father stated years ago, " you must make decsions for yourself and be willing to live or die with the consequences they may bring". On a side note, take into consideration motorcyles and the fatal impact they can have on a life. Though some kids, teens, young adults, and old men can ride a motorcyle (insert bike here) and ride for many years without incident...all the while riding defensively. Then there are kids, teens, young adults and even old men that have no business on a motorcycle and are a danger to themselves along with those around them. I've been riding since I was 7 with a father that has built customs for years. But I waited until I turned 27 to purchase my first GSXR 750.......Why? Because I knew I was not responsible enough to own or ride a powerful motorcyle of that caliber. It's sad that even with grown men, the stones that are thrown are behind a keyboard....."spoken like a 100 jumps wonder"......When you have not seen the individual fly nor know the indivdual to which you speak. (What is "fast" to you may not be "fast" to the individual next to you. Facts are facts and they are undisputed.....No one person is created identical. Do no place everyone in a one size fits all box. There will always be someone/something that will break the mold) Thank you for all the advice and consideration. It is always welcome and does not fall on deaf ears. I may not always agree in the end, but I always take it all in for complete consideration.
  13. If you really only have 84 jumps and aren't trolling, I'd say you are far better off asking for canopy selection advice from experienced skydivers at your dropzone who've seen you land, and not anyone on the Internet. I'm certainly not trolling. I'm simply looking for educational advice from those who have been there and done that. I'm well aware in how forums and opinions work and I'm also well aware in how those at my dz feel about anyone downsizing. It's a BIG DEAL. Regardless in your flying abilities, jump numbers tend to play a role in their outlook and I respect that stance. Though my respect does not make me a Lemming. I don't want to be that "guy" next to me that waited 250+ jumps to downsize to a safire 2. For him, he thinks it's fast....for me....Not so much. But my background isn't his and his isn't mine. As previously stated, I'm interested in getting under something that I can enjoy and learn under for a couple of years and not be frustrated by the buying and selling of canopies that I will soon grow tired of. I truly enjoy the Safire 2 169 and respect it's performance. I'm not looking at swooping; I'm not looking at pushing the envelope; I'm simply interested in someone educating me more on canopy selection. NOT can you land it or not.....Yes I can land it, but there is more to piloting than just landing it and I am well aware and respect that as well. Yesterday was a prime example....20mph winds in the morning and no winds the last jump of the day. My landings were in the areas that I had selected for landing. Bottom line, I'm a newbie to the sport and I look to those with more experience to educate me, not just say "NO, you'll brake yourself"......I heard that about the 169. Guess that wans't true.
  14. Is the step down from a Safire2 170 to a Nitron 150 going to be too drastic or is it necessary to stick it out with a semi-elliptical before downsizing into a fully elliptical? Went from flying a 190 sabre as a strudent to a 170 Spectra and now a 169 Safire 2 (which I love BTW) Though the Safire 2 was borrowed for a few weekends putting approx 25+ jumps on it, I feel that a 150 is where I want to spend my next 300-500 jumps. Since I will most likely purchase new, I don't want to purchase a something that I'm going to want to sell in another 100 jumps.
  15. I've taken my Suunto (electronic) and my alti (mechanical) up to see how they stacked up against one another. They were both zeroed on the ground and then periodically checked for "accurate" readings. I found that the Suunto would be dead on up to 3000 ft. and would ready 100-150 ft. below the alti's reading. By 5000 ft. the readings were nearly identical again. This happenes all the up to 14,000. I'm comfortable jumping with either altimeter without a major pucker factor.
  16. Hey, way to go guys......I was there for the jump, but missed the "Pie in the eye". I must have been in the air. Congrats. Justin
  17. How often are you holding such a clinic and what is the cost?
