  1. Richard, you can do as you please, but maybe read both the skydiving and base fatality lists. I bet you none of the people on the list thought they would make a such a silly mistake either. ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  2. UPT harness. Get them to lift their knees up and slide their bum back in the harness putting the leg straps under their thighs a little more, making it more like a chair, makes it more comfortable for them, means theyre not ‘hanging’ therefore better blood flow (fem. arterry) which means less chance of fainting or vomiting. Also makes it easier for them to get their legs up for landing. For big busted girls loosen the chest strap with their permission. ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  3. breathe, easiest way to do this is to sing or talk yourself through what your doing. sounds weird but worked for me. This technique also also improved my girlfriends basic canopy flight overnight. She sings teddy bears picnic from about 2000ft down, shes gone from pounding in on a Pilot 170 to landing CRW lightning 126s beautifully in a very short amount of time, by singing/breathing relaxing. ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  4. Glad to hear it was sorted. My experiences with NZA have been brilliant. They have Skype so can call internationally for virtually $0. They are a small company so get pretty stretched when it comes PIA, conference, competition time. They make great canopies and have done truck loads to support skydiving in Australia. FUCK YEAH ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  5. And how many DC's have you scored? and and how many 100s have you scored? (current FAI CP rules) ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  6. paracaommanders were considered 'high performance' back in the day, woooo. Lets go back to un-modified Roundies. get rid of ponds and swooping, ok, people will just find another way to bounce, history shows they have and will continue to do so. the only injury at this years Aus nationals was by an accuracy jumper. dam those high performance parafoils. Though If there was a pond around the tuffet he would have been ok. ahh the internets and ramblings of keyboard warriors, get out there and jump ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  7. run the Neptune N2 or N3, seems to be the swooping standard run by the PD factory team, think all of the Aussie CP team etc. can be purchased in Aus from Keiren Rundle @ www.gravitycalls.com ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  8. Depends what your looking for in a canopy, what will you mainly be using it for? my current wing is a JVX79, but have done about 500 on a Velocity 96 and half a dozen on a JFX89. best openings JFX 2nd Velo 3rd JVX the jvx and JFX have good rear riser pressure (itend to come out a hot on the gates so jvx has suited my bad habits, good response on rears). have used the JFX for wingsuiting and has been great great openings. front riser pressure is in between a velo and jvx. i had heard that the jfx doesnt swoop as good as the jvx or velo, but from the half dozen jumps ive done on one , they still carry very well with lots of bottom end If I could have 2 canopies personally would run a JVX for CP stuff and JFX best all round canopy for AFF, wingsuiting, camera swoops ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  9. Would be interested in peoples ideas. I am going to run a 2-way rotations video comp amongst the dropzones in Western Australia in September, to try and get interest and skills up, so hopefully can run a 2-way sequential meet in December with the ultimate goal take a few teams to the Aussie nationals in March. anyone got tips on rules etc for 2-way rotos super keen to listen ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  10. just in from Jules "Hi all, Jules McConnel (Moruya), Charlotte Van den Burg (Toogoolawah), Kat Mettler (Toogoolawah), Tracey Basman (Picton), Amy McDermott (York), Riss Anderson (Toogoolawah), Wendy Smith (NZ), and Jill Grantham (Nagambie) just landed from an 8 stack at Skysisters - just waiting for the judges to say it was an all female Australian record. Chicks rock!" ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  11. The Argus has a swoop mode, which will inhibit firing of the cutter once deployment has been detected. this is copied from the Australian forum, if an Argus turns itself off once it detects a canopy would this have possibly ended in a no-pull fatality ??(skysurfer.com.au) ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  12. sweet if anyones there in August will be there to watch the Olympics, but keen to hook up for a jump or 2, so keen to find out some more about it ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  13. 3 minutes?? Dam any longer than 7 seconds is a chore for me. ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  14. Apologies measurements should be in millimetres. (mm) Pilot slider- 740mm x 500mm (29in x 19.6in) Stiletto slider 740mm x 470mm, (29in x 18.5in) They are definatley tears not burns. and they are both on the edge of the "frame webbing". Waiting to hear back from Aerodyne and my rigger today, will keep you posted. Will try and upload a pic later tonight. Cheers SB ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  15. When packing after the last jump of the day I noticed two ~ 40 cm tears on the left and right sides of my slider. Does anyone know what would may cause this? Is it a packing error or possibly a material flaw? Is it a common thing? The canopy is a Aerodyne Pilot 150 with ~ 250 jumps on it. I bought it 2nd hand and have done about 50 jumps on it, and in that time its been great, no line twists, no hard openings, flys and flares great. I have another slider of my Stiletto that I am not jumping at the moment thats in good condition, but is smaller, Pilot slider- 740cm x 500cm Stiletto slider 740cm x 470cm, would this be OK to use. What effect would the slightly smaller slider have on the Pilot? Cheers for any info. Blue ones. SB ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  16. Yep congratulations on saving your hide. As part of the requirements for an 'A' licence here in York, Australia we have to complete and get 'signed off' on a canopy control table. i.e front riser turns, rear riser turns, dynamic stall and recovery, static stall and recoveries, braked turns, hook turn recovery. etc all at high altitude of course. Is this not the case elsewhere?? ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  17. If it was with your missus udder you could do a "linked exit". (2 way only) might need to shave down for it to reduce drag, or is a weight belt acceptable in a nudie jump? ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  18. Solo: anyway rocks, but pref diving front flips 2+way: wagon wheels ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
  19. no dont do this, Its extremely dangerous. your body is like a 747 its pressurised inside and if you fart in freefall its equivilant to a plane experiencing explosive decompression and your insides will be sucked out your ass. ...remember to take it easy.....and if its easy take it home..
