Interesting... thanks for all the advice. Bascially i'm not all that interested in speed ground launching. Skydiving satisfys me enough. Anyway i do quite alot climbing and mountain walking in spain. You can walk up to 1800m from the coast in some amazing scenery. When you look down from the top you think to yourrself,,, hmmm could i ground launch my canopy from up here and make it down? Here is a prime example from one i did a few weeks back. This is at 1800m. If i had a 250 main could i ground launch it down? Assuming there was a reasonably flat place to land and the wind was low. You can get some distance with a large main off that mountain couldn't you?

exactly my point... but then i thought why not pick up a larger main or paragliding canopy and then do it from a larger hill. Anyway as i said,, constructive comments only please. ---------- p.s its a guy with a hot girlfriend who tried my gear on.... but shes learning soon also.

Oh crap sorry i should have elaborated more. No i wouldn't be crazy enough to actually jump it. I mean more for ground launching. I.e. climbing to the top of a mountain and ground launching off the top in your skydiving rig but attached to a paragliding canopy.

Hmm,, I've literally just started skydiving. Passed my aff and 2 jumps off my A. I am obviously still dead keen but i do know what you mean. I've already met a lot of dicks to be honest..... Given, there are alot of decent people but alot also seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Thats my opinion from someone just coming into the sport so hell,,, what do i know.... I think the key is to just pick and choose who you hang with and ignore who you don't,,, same with any other situation in life i suppose.

Is it possible to rig up a paragliding canopy to a skydiving container/rig? Just curious really. I mean yeah it might be a little uncomfortable in a skydiving rig for a long time but is there any reason why you couldn't just take you main canopy off and stick a paragliding canopy on to your risers? Constructive replies only please. Tim

p.s Wait till aff level 7. Thats when it starts getting real good.

I knew they'd be a comment like that from andy in their somewhere I'm the same anyway mate. Just finished AFF and its the same. Can;t get to sleep at night thinking about how to do your next crazy exit. I assume you get used to it and the craving declines

Those windsuit photos are ace. How many jumps would you expect to do before trying out wingsuits? Obuiously it would vary but just curious. Tim

As a complete novice skydiver who only found this site a few weeks ago .... I found there are a lot of unfriendly people out there who seem post simply complain or bitch,,,, having said that a lot of people have been really helpful and understand the enthusiasm of getting into the sport. either way i think there will always be people in any sport up their own rectums.

I know people talk about free falling through or by the side of tall Cumulus clouds and they say its amazing seeing it pass by. Like falling into a city of clouds. Just curious if anyone has every opened extra early and had the chance to fly around a big cumulus formation and explore inside the nooks and cranies one? If so was it any good? Ok no probs... I'm not even planning on it until i have a few years of experience and even then it might not be for me... That doesn't remove the curiosity thought... Do many people just jump from buildings in the city? Surely that illegal and you;re gonna get nicked right? Or do you just float away and hide quickly? Note sure i can see whats in the picutre but it looks like you're clinging to the side of a building.

They'd go on about getting their shit down in the half pipe before they could even turn... Anyway, i'll at least get my course sorted first and then maybe pop back here in a year with a bit more experience. Cheers
