  1. Why is it so many self proclaimed agnostics or atheists get so bent when Scriptures are cited ? Though I think most organized religions have their own writings of faith, I can only comment on the Christian writings: The Bible. Many individuals I have engaged in defy the belief based on the Bible, because of lack of their 1st hand confirmation, nor witness. We have tendancies to believe most instruction manuals & educational writings based on specific fields of interest or studies. ( e.g. the SIMS, Avaition technology, our specific professional field of training & educational teachings) So many of us can not, nor will not, grasp, but will absolutely disavow writings of the Bible, or the teachings of Christ. Is it because we do not know somebody, who knew somebody...who experienced & witnessed any of the writings ? Scripture's authors do claim 1st hand knowledge & confirmation, so why are these too incredulous to be validated ? Is it because pride and arrogance in our human species is so much so, we don't have the capacity to take on an understanding there is ONE who is so powerful & almighty...or that our brains & intellect do not have the capability to comprehend the possibility ? When it comes down to it, it really doesn't matter who, or what we do not believe in as a whole...the outcome is purely individual ! BTW: For the Christian record...Pride is one of the 7 deadly sins
  2. Yes, you're bat-shit crazy. It has it's advantages
  3. Yah, that's the 1st thing on my mind...how can I capitalize on this !?! Initially, I just had the thought..."that's odd", til it became more frequent, & now it's like... "what the hell... I brought it up, because I was looking for some intelligent, unbiased rationalizations. For the most part, that's what I received, though there some dumbasses just looking to be assholes Video what...set up night vision camera, or walk around "waiting" for something that I MIGHT see ? This shit's going on...most of the time when I'm here alone. The other things I stated, my husband was here & experienced them, at the same time... so backatcha
  4. Talk about coincidences... the movie " Gaslight" was on last night...the '44 Ingrid Bergun version ! It's not my husband trying to drive me insane ! Evidently, I already am...for posting this He's not into my over reactive drama, so much ! Obviously, the majority think there are reasonable explanations, so I will consider that's the case. I've experienced abnormal occurrences before. If I stated the most bizarre situations my sanity would be more questionable . I pack for a living...I'd probably be out of work
  5. You do realize that those helping you come to a logical solution to your mystery are just a part of the conspiracy don’t you? Oh that helps You got some over neurotic nit wit looking for answers for some pretty off the wall, "less than reality" occurrences...thinking ok...it's all in my over reactive imagination...these are logical answers...then you tell me it's a conspiracy ! Well, just Swell Jesse Ventura's already got me thinking he's on to something w/ weather machines controlling the world, one world order, & the rich man's caves under ground for next year's apocalypse ! I can already figure out in my mind, how to make 2 + 10 + 12 + 69 = 4 So what are you saying ? There really is a "boogie" man ? Or are too, referring to my lack of proper sentence structure ? Or that all men are right ?
  6. Front switches, on both ! Is that the explanation...& if so, why doesn't it turn on every night, & why the same time when it does ? If you switch the computer off from the front panel and it has been configured in certain ways it can be remotely turned on over LAN or by modem. Usually, by default, computers are sold with settings so that it isn't possible and the user has to turn that feature on. Try switching the power off from the computer by using the switch in the back panel (in the PSU) as that should make sure that it won't spuriously power on by itself. I'll try turning it off in the back tonight. My husband said it was probably something like that. But you know us females...there's got to be more to it then a logical explanation ! I'll tell him, he was right...AGAIN ! Thanks !
  7. Front switches, on both ! Is that the explanation...& if so, why doesn't it turn on every night, & why the same time when it does ? If it could be the reason, I'll chalk the rest up as old clock, old house, jealous dog & huge ass mice ! The dimes...maybe I just notice them more than pennies --------------------------------------------------------- To the 2 Grammar Cops...grade the content & subject matter all you want, but for my lack of correct paragraph indentations & sentence structure...my book learnin' days are long gone
  8. Ok, this has been going on too much & no longer be rationalized as a coincidence ! I need some reasonable explanations as to some unusual occurences in our home, lately....other than I'm 'batshit crazy', at least not most of the time ! We completely shut down our computer every night. I'm mean hitting the power buttons on the monitor & PC. The 'office' is adjacent to our bedroom. At least 3x per week, we see the illumination of the screen light up, & if volume is on...sounds of music or dialogue, as if a video was playing. How can this happen ? Also, most nights at the exact same time ( 3:20 am) the computer goes on, the cuckoo clock in the living room stops. I pull the chains right before bedtime. Throughout the day, I pull the chains up, & at the same hour-minute, there's no problem, nor during any other time with the clock. All the logical reasons are addressed: It is not on an outside wall, it's balanced, chains are not hung up, or obstructed, it's a 24 hr. wind, is oiled & maintained as it is over 200 years old. The other oddity...I find a single dime ( only dimes) in the most bizarre places , even if I had just been in the area... in the bed ( we sleep in the buff), under a pair of shoes I've just taken off, on the rug in the bathroom after getting out of the shower, on the dashboard of my car, I found 5 of them while planting flowers last fall. Freaky thing, they all have the same date, 2001 ! I've accused my husband of messing with me, which he denies ! He always tried to come up with a logical reason, until he started witnessing some of the other things going on. We leave the room to come back in & find the recliner foot rest up, brand new flat screen goes off, channels turn while watching ( the old one did the same thing), a heavy glass dish upside down on the kitchen floor. It was unbroken & no sound of it hitting the floor. A lamp fell off night stand, while in another room. We heard that ! While sitting side by side, we watched a bi-fold open a few inches, in an unoccupied room ! Our dog will not stay in a room, unless we are in it. She never had seperation anxiety before. We never had to kennel her while we worked up to 14 hrs/day at the DZ until this past season. My Mother-in law stops over to water, feed & let her out; when we're gone that long, so no, she's not left that long unattended to ! We now have to kennel her EVERY time she is left, even for just a few minutes. We've come home to find she had jumped through a screen & was sitting by the door waiting for us, EVERY door in the house had been scratched, she had knocked kitchen plants over & her dog prints were on the countertops & stove ( which is by the back door) & she has broken claws off, scratching to get out of her kennel. She is otherwise, an excellent dog ! The house is done settling, it was built in one of the older districts when the city was established. It is not on a fault, doors & windows are shut, yadayada ! Other then seek out therapy, any thoughts, or better yet...explanations ?
  9. Absolutely...sure it can be done, but why drive home on a flat when there is a good spare in the trunk. Brad experienced a D line snap on a Vector 365 tandem opening this past season...no blown cells, however...all while flying handi-cam ! On opening the jolt of the hard opening sublexated his 'cutaway' shoulder. He did a controllability check, found the canopy to fly well, so he decided to keep the main, but with a 260# passenger & realizing the fatigue & weakness to his shoulder at about 1500'... he wished he would've chopped. The passenger had to assist in the flare, but combined with stronger than desirable cross winds on landing, & wet landing area, causing a not so smooth butt slide, combined with a TI's typical "lay out the body to protect the student"...he suffered 2 herniated discs & compressed nerve in his lower back. The student was fine, never knew the difference & figured the flare assist was part of the $$ he paid, to do the jump...since Brad gives his students the toggles for a bit while under canopy ! The following weekend & his next tandem, he took me up to see how 'do able' his body was. I've done enough jumps, to assist if he were in trouble in turns & flaring.. 10 minutes after landing we left for the ER ! Needless to say, his season was cut short & he was out of jumping all together for a minimum of 12 weeks. He's an experienced TI of 6 years; with 1500 tandem jumps on both Strong & Vector-Sigma's, but he had to make a judgement call: having a heavy student on a much larger canopy ( reserve @ 500) assist in flaring with a blown shoulder; though the reserve would've landed slower,... or continue with a flyable main & land a lighter canopy ! Decisons throughout all jumps, need to be made in a nano second ! The outcome could've been much worst. That's the part that causes us grief as a Staff couple. I hear the shouts of someone's issues, while packing...I know my husband's on the load & I witness the incidences. This by far was my least favorite... I wasn't sure he was getting up this time The video was pretty interesting...he definitely earned his $65 for that jump, though the medical bills are 100x Though each season I get abit more anxious to the reality of his career choice, We're both looking forward to our 2011 season to get under way, in a few weeks
  10. I kinda like a female's ongoing screams. It tells me I might be doing something right. I walk into that one...
  11. It's about time...women need to be seen more in that image on the silver screen, so perhaps the affect will sink into to real life roles. I'm not a women's advocate by any means & firmly believe the man wears the pants in the family & I gladly give the "head of the household' role to my husband...because he carries the role responsibly & takes into consideration what's in his, my & our best interests, in this role ! We compromise when it's a he said/she said stand off...while I gladly play the Susie Homemaker & Betty Crocker...among other roles We compliment each other's character differences & teach each other from our personal life experiences. He treats me like a Queen, because he knows he is my King, but I also maintain my own personal identity & absolutely expect him to do the same ! However, I would never ever rely on anyone to carry my weight nor keep me upright...however, support; here in there is needed, at times! The roles on screen & in day to day life anymore, seem to portray either a woman is in need & at the mercy of a man,( or Big Brother) to make her way & "rescue" her, or a man takes on a woman to pave his way & support his every whim. Personal accountability & a self sufficient character is way too overlooked by the mediums...either you are a superhero, target, or victim ! It seems it's "Predator-v- Prey" society these days ! I would like to think we should all tune into our own resources, self preservation & master survival modes, without compromising decent humanity towards each other. People like others misery, misery makes for watched movies, movies make money...& the wheels on the bus go round & round!
  12. That's exactly why I've always worked & played in a male dominated arena ( i.e. drywall hangar, finisher for 15 years, only female to bid on working the docks & airlines as a USPS clerk in Anchorage, hunt, fish, hunter safety qualified, pretty accurate with a 708 ( 7mm), & most pistols, ride a Harley with the best of them, & can pack circles around the youngest of male colleagues ). I despise the 'damsel in distress syndrome' & can get pretty ugly with a female's ongoing screams after her 1st tandem, especially while packing my ass off, & have; & always will, pay my own way ! Guys make for my best friends & I'm not very tolerant of most, in the female human species...I'm just saying
  13. hey this 54 yr.old is married to a 36 yr.old...our almost 5 years together have been very COMPATIBLE Interesting topic "warped" ... I for one am glad it was posted. It is a serious issue that is often dismissed
  14. Me thinks you are right about batshit crazy females; especially employed in a field typically of an entrusted nature, do stalk men ( & their significant others)...however, not all guys like it
  15. ---------------------------------------------------------
  16. My cinema pet peave: Why doesn't the chick being chased by the bad guy while wearing spiked heels; going click, click, click on the pavement & on the stairs...never stop & kick them off, & save her breath, instead of screaming the entire chase ?
  17. Aging sucks... God's sense of humor is NOT funny ! Mistakes...usually causes a change in direction; causing new roads, relationships, people & events..had you not made any single one mistake, would you have the positive friends, life experiences, yadayada...had you not ? Now, regrets...that's another thing, especially if they're current
  18. Sturgis isn't just for Harleys, though that's what I have & rode from WI. to Sturgis in '97 ( the 57th Annual). There are weekend warriors in every activity! You can tell those that trailered out & stay in hotels, to those that ride & camp by the racoon tanned faces, & grung on bike & body. I had a ride from hell when we rode up the Black Hills to Rushmore. It was 100+ in Sturgis when we left. I was wearing just a bikini top, cut offs & my biker boots, never thinking to put my leathers in the saddlebags. We got caught in a sleet/ snow storm for 4 hours....shivering so bad I could hardly keep her upright ! We had to stop in Deadwood at a laundromat & took turns stripping down in their utility room, to dry our clothes before heading back to Sturgis... We stayed at Glenco ( just down from Buffalo Chip) campgrounds. Most campers there, were totally nude all week long & a nightly show on the passage out of the campground called: " Titty Ally"...no female could pass thru w/ out flashing It's an excellent time, but an exhausting ride back home ! Picking bugs out teeth, ears, nose & bike for days! I've been riding 15 years, put it down twice to avoid being taken down by 'idiots on the road, put 7000 miles on the year before I got into Skydiving as a profession & sport. I signed over & share ownership w/ Brad 2 years ago, but don't get much riding time in anymore due to hectic jump season ! This next season she's being revamped & I'm going to a Dyna Wide & Brad's going FLSH/FLX bagger or Road King ! ** Evidently, they have a DZ there during Bike Week & looking for TI's & Packers...we thought about checking it out. Work a few days..ride & play the rest !
  19. Yah, I know...that week is always hotter than hell & crazy. Brad & I 'managed' the DZ while the DZO's were at the Air Show. We'd get caught up w/ tandems, & C licensed jumpers, busy setting up the DZ for the Party on the last day...then you all from the Liberty Team came back to the hangar for a bit of r&r...til time to head to the bar for eating, drinking & merry making ! What a good time & miss them & you all. I had a blast with Faith !!! Rev. Jim's a real character, but that Racer of his is a real charm to pack ! The last time I saw him was when he came out to pick up his rig after Brad's sacrilegious issues repacking his reserve...the coil spring pilot cover had a cross emblem on it...& it kept popping out as Brad was just getting ready to close it...multiple times he'd get the fabric & recoil all set & it'd pop out.. with every vocal condemnation freely flowing. I didn't feel right watching him while cursing the 'cross' of a holy man's rig & walked out of the hangar ! He despises Racer reserve's repacks...the mains aren't much better
  20. A great time, we look forward to it every year ! We're having to make some difficult choices the last 2 years though; as fulltime DZ Staffers, seem to occur within a few weeks of each other: busiest jump time, Bear Paw Camping trips, EAA, Summerfest, Sturgis, or Couch Freaks The camping & EAA are just a few miles from home or DZ, so we get a day or 2 there, but this year we ARE taking a few days off to hit at least one of the other 'vacation spots' My husband's never been to Sturgis...I think it's time I introduce him to it..." Buffalo Chip and Busts"
  21. I have a bunch of pics of that close-up on a hazy day...beautiful. You shoud see the night act the ole Beech puts on...LOTs of pyro coming outta that thing! ------------------------------------------------------- Reply: that pyro show scared the b'geezus out of me...heard it b/4 I saw it !
  22. It has been my Husband & my privilege & honor to have been ground crew at EAA '07 & '08 , partied with & have had the pleasure to have met some of the greatest guys, members & Skydivers as the Liberty Team: Twardo, Sam S., JT Hill, Larry B., Jeff 'Bogey' B., Bill H., Bill P., Chuck & Buck, the 'Swede', & as Lead Staff Packer for the'grandfather' of DZO's; Bill (Donna Marie) Hasenfus at Skydive Adventure, have had the honor to have packed for some of them, ( JT's main was brand new , so go figure, but he did call me on his way back to FL. to tell me it was the sweetest opening he had ever had ! ) & have had VIP Invitation to meet celebrity Pilots: John Travolta & Harrison Ford, & heard the music of Gary Sinese's & the Lt. Dan Band. Their yearly, daily jump in's are highly respected & anticipated. The DZ party's are excellent & getting together to meet some of the most phenomenal military & civilian pilots, & the FIESTIEST FEMALE PILOT Ever, at the bar's afterwards, is amazing ! Twardo...we were so sorry we missed you guys in '10. We came the last day & saw the jumps this year, but by the time we made it through the crowds to get to you All...you were pulling out in the LT van...we look forward to seeing you all next July !
