Its lots of fun. My mom and I would go every year when I was growing up, at least for a couple of hours. She still goes every year and I join her if I can. Beaches all along the coast have people handing out trash bags and some of the bigger beaches make it a really big event with bands, food, "celebrity" guests, etc. Just watch out for parking. There will be none.
