    Pets?

Still have the little green turtle(Red eared slider) I bought in a pet shop 50 years ago. My dad was in the military so she moved with us all over the states and overseas.
  4. Science is great in explaining the natural world, but like religion it fails miserably in explaining the spiritual world. The godless reality that some claim science supports is as misguided as the judgmental reality that some religions propose.
  5. I am doubtful God will ever be found in a test tube. But we can find God within ourselves by the testing of our faith (2 Corinthians 13:5-6). ...
  6. I agree. The scientific method is the mindset of the scientist. It is useful in all areas of life. It has been invaluable in unlocking "how' the universe is constructed. It falls flat in explaining "why" and for what purpose. The area of spiritual discernment requires an introspection that can only be accomplished by unifying spiritual & physical realities though faith. And if one is not to get lost in the process, faith and guidance by God is a must. ...
  7. I don't. I leave myself open to all possibilities and go with the flow. The flow has taken me to a belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ and His apostles. My personal thought experiment and conclusions are totally inconsequential in the big scheme of things. But I feel I should at least try to make some sense out of the spiritual chaos I(we) find ourselves in. ...
  8. Since there is no way of disproving Ra, atheism and agnosticism are also thought experiments. Since there is no way of disproving Baal, atheism and agnosticism are also thought experiments. Since there is no way of disproving Zeus, atheism and agnosticism are also thought experiments. Since there is no way of disproving Odin, atheism and agnosticism are also thought experiments. Since there is no way of disproving the FSM, atheism and agnosticism are also thought experiments. ... It's really a fucking stupid statement you made there. Predictable and boring. I would expect to see some new material from you by now. You statement is an argument for the existence of God. We know God exists and have instinctively searched for Him since the inception of our species. False gods die out, the Truth will exist forever. ...
  9. Faith is a " Thought Experiment". As with science when the means of proving a fact is lacking, thought experiments helps to bridge the gap. There are many scientific phenomenon that were first conceived by thought experiments https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thought_experiment Since there is no way of disproving God, atheism and agnosticism are also thought experiments. As one who has found faith in God through such a process, the psycho-spiritual rewards I have gained are my most valued possessions. ...

    Introduction

  11. Suicide is a tragic cry for help when one is sadly convinced that no help is available. Egg and sperm have the potential to start the development of human life. An embryo is a genetically unique viable human life form. Dependent ,like we all are , on an energy source and suitable environmental conditions. ...
  12. Interesting logic. The greed and incompetent use of resources by one group contributes to the (preventable) suffering and death of another group. So the first group says "hey since you are going to suffer and we don't want to be bothered by you we will just terminate you before the problem ever has a chance to start." I can only hope for a better way. ...
  13. You make interesting points. I see life as a fantastic mystery, that needs to be facilitated not denied. ...
  14. We are the universe's crowing creation. We are able to observe it and ourselves and marvel at our existence. Anyone who has truly experienced life in it many dimensions would not want to be denied the chance to experience it. Those who don't value life have become lost along the way. ...
  15. Now that would be the ultimate "thought experiment" . I bet if they could be asked for their opinion on abortion there would be a resounding, OH HELL NO.
  16. The language issue is just a matter of semantics. One person trying to spin the facts calls it incendiary, another person trying to present the facts calls it descriptive. Criminals who commits acts of violence have their own motives. The words or circumstances they use for justification is just an attempt to divert guilt. The real elephant in the room is the 53 plus million people who, like us, could have been here discussing this issue. But were instead , terminated. ...
  17. Damn , I have come to expect much more insightful statements from you than something like that. That is like equating all abortionists with nazis because they use death as a final solution to their imagined problems. Recognizing the insanity that one uses to justify the evils of abortion does not make one a terrorist. ...
  18. Interesting, so in the past when one group of people were exterminating large numbers of others they deemed a nuisance it was a " religious " act. This fetal genocide we are engaged in has to be one of the largest "politically correct" mass exterminations of all time. ...
  19. Absolutely, no argument. But like you l just like to call "bull shit" when blind individuals do one thing and call it something else. ...
  20. Sure but certainly you can examine history and identify times where the laws of the land were made by confused individuals with evil intent. ...
  21. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/06/18/us/politics/abortion-restrictions.html?_r=0 Some states do others don't. ...
  22. Yes I am familiar with all of the justifications used to assuage the moral recriminations one might feel after condoning such a procedure. But I find it interesting how a mother who wraps her unwanted baby in a trash bag and dumps it in a garbage can is charged with murder, while the mother who has a 3rd trimester or late term abortion is just getting rid of some unwanted tissue.
