My birthday on Tuesday will be the last interesting thing (save getting a raise at work) between now and the time I take AFF that I can foresee and plan on. Any suggestions on how to fill the time for the next 4 months??? The boredom is killing me. Yeah, I've ran into that problem too. Apparently the old one seemed to give people the idea I was a girl until given a better reason to believe I wasn't. At least once in a while. ---------------------------------------- 6.8% - Almost there!

Ok ok I had the old one for about 4 years. I select usernames based on my desire to never run into a website that the name has already been taken. (You'd think I'm pretty good at it, and I am.) Well, I was really just getting fed up with my e-mail inboxes being full of spam, and there is a lot of personal information attached to the name throughout the interweb. There is one particular message board I frequent that I would absolutely hate for someone to get my PI (and they are really good at it) since they are quite adept at giving people hell for at least a couple days. Of course if you don't make yourself a target, it shouldn't be a problem. So I made about 3 new screen names. I have one for my personal stuff like banking/credit card info. I have one that I use for places like this, where I expect a little more public interaction that I don't have to be quite so guarded. And I have one specifically for times when I don't want to be attached to the other 2. Supposedly niolosoiale sounds like nih (as in knit) oh los (as in close) oh ih (as in knit) ah leh (as in let) It's three words from one of the Tolkien languages ni olos oiale though the grammar is probably totally wrong. (EDIT: I also think that in the 4 years I used it, somewhere along the line the words changed according to the resource I originally used. The original intention being "I dream endlessly") This one, shaiziel, is 2 words, shai - egyptian god of fate, and ziel - dutch for "soul" Doesn't really make any sense, but I was just looking for a couple words that would equal 8 letters. I wouldn't know how to pronounce the Shai, my guess is just like Shay. Ziel, maybe somebody more fluent in Dutch can let me know, but for now, zeal works for me. But come on, 2 syllables as opposed to 7? Definitely easier. ---------------------------------------- 6.8% - Almost there!

Speaking of comfort, these days, I wish they had options for a 5-pt harness system. I would go through that much trouble for the added safety. I always think about the fact that in a wreck, the entire inertial force of my torso will be pressed upon a single strip of fabric about 3 inches wide. I can't get over the fact that I am almost certain ribs would break at sufficient speed. ---------------------------------------- 6.8% - Almost there!

The interesting thing will be that tomorrow, when she's out driving around, she'll put her seat belt on. She will swerve to avoid a basket of kittens in the highway... and so on. Knock on wood that this won't happen. ---------------------------------------- 6.8% - Almost there!

I'm just wondering what kind of car you drive and what position you sit in that causes that much trouble. My cup holder is conveniently located right below my forearm if I rest my hand on my shifter with elbow on the center console. I sit close enough to manipulate the radio and A/C controls easily. You're either a mile away from the steering wheel or your car's engineers weren't exactly thinking functional ergonomics. ---------------------------------------- 6.8% - Almost there!

Exactly. I always feel kinda eerie when I ride with a friend who doesn't use one. I usually make a smart-ass remark about it, but if they don't put it on, I don't ride them about it. Of course, if you're riding in my car, I enforce it. ---------------------------------------- 6.8% - Almost there!

Friend's 16 year old cousin who had been driving for less than a month, presumably had a blowout while driving very fast down a wet road. Rolled it 6-8 times, got ejected from the vehicle, died. I've seen enough videos of people rolling yet getting out alive due to having been wearing a seatbelt. I put mine on as a reflex of getting in a car. I feel naked without them.
