have done one tandem and did my AFF1 yesterday....should i buy a hook knife?....where would i place it (jumping the DZ's rig) I would also need to get information on when to use a hook knife...

I dont know...i just dont see myself doing like 6 ways and stuff....like in snowboarding i dont like the terrain park...i just like going fast and carving (making big wide sharp surns)...i guess thats the best way to put it...

Are Full face helmets ok for Wingsuit flying? Im at 2 jumps so far....but i want to buy my own helmet...and want a full face for the added protection...i plan to do wingsuit once i have the necessary experience.... i would imagine its not a bad idea especially for flocks

Are full face helmets just used when jumping with multiple people at the same time....or RW Would it be unusual for some one who plans to just jump alone or with one other person to use a full face helmet? How about if i plan to do wingsuit?

Everything went well.... my heart rate was up 20 beats from my 1st tandem (150/170).... I did everything perfect in free fall except i forgot to wave off and then when i was doing the practice throws my left arm position was to close to my helmet....once on the ground I realized that all the times i practiced the jump in my head i forgot the wave off... Under canopy i was a little far from the landing zone at 1000ft....but i did the correct landing pattern, just short legs of the pattern...landed on my feet and in the center of the landing zone...there was very little wind and i did the last turn into the wind relatively low...at like 100ft but the instructors said i did it in the right manner by being at half brakes and pulling the left toggle a little more then the right...so it was a slow turn with little altitude lose which gave me plenty of time to come off the brakes and then properly flare I had a radio but i could not hear anything my instructors were telling me...basically they were saying get close to the landing zone instead of doing more turns over the holding area if i remembr anything else ill post it... i have my Hear Rate and Altitude graphed on the computer if anyone wants to see them...

Thanx, yes im the engineering type...mechanical engineer to be exact...but i still have a year and a half till i finish my BS Know any good sites with white papers on skydiving?

I think systematically unpacking a rig could also teach you a lot....?

From just looking around at a couple of sites i am really liking the Aerodyne stuff...and then today i saw the Mirage site with their 31 slides of all their features....its quite possible that Aerodyne has all the features but they dont display them....really a shame.... Just browsing...wont be buying a rig for some time (doing ground school this friday)...just curious...

Im just wondering....doing my ground school this friday....and of course i will be using the schools gear...and i wont know how to pack....i want to learn how to pack ASAP....once i know how to pack ill just use their gear and pack (with supervision) my own gear on multiple jump days...

or is it that once you finish the AFF you can do the rest of your jumps to get your A-Lic at another DZ?
