  1. Its all body flight. (insert philosophical quote here)
  2. Word is we'll be flying in January. Drove by it today and totally looks like thats a possibility (insert philosophical quote here)
  3. Nope. The double stow advice is based on the snatch force when the pilot chute pulls the d-bag out of the container. When the bag is pulled it actually elongates the entire bag momentarily including the single stow. This leaves an open gap between your bite and the d-bag in the rubber band where the bite can come out. But when you double stow the same elongating effect cause the rubber band to tighten down harder on the bit greatly eliminating the chance of it coming out. (insert philosophical quote here)
  4. You've come to this conclusion after one jump with double stowed bands? Do you normally pack for yourself? Does your rigger normally pack for you? (insert philosophical quote here)
  5. I got this one. Used it for about 15 jumps. No problems as of yet [url]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M562LF4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00[url] (insert philosophical quote here)

  9. If you want to goto the ranch you can start by asking to join this group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/551319734984563/ If you post there looking for rides you'll have better luck. Not many Ranch jumpers post on DZ.com Theres this guy called Brooklyn that does a van service to the ranch Saturday morning then back to the city Sunday night. If you want his information you can PM me. there's a buss out of pen station that goes to New Paltz. From there you can take a cab. Its pretty close. Lots of jumpers do this. 10. My source is me. I live around the block from there. Would you like pictures? (insert philosophical quote here)
  11. looks like they just broke ground (insert philosophical quote here)
  12. so on average people will book half hour or hour long blocks. But you don't fly that all by your self. You split the time with other people and rotate in an out of the tunnel. The people you are with are your spacing. Some tunnels will lump you in with first timers and such. At NH if you are paying at the discounted rate you have to find your own group of people (insert philosophical quote here)
  13. The best way to get time there is to go with someone who has a membership. People with memberships can book at 750hr. I think they have a skydiver rate of 800hr. But you have to book in hour blocks for that rate. Start booking less and the price goes up per minute. Also have to bring your own spacing. You'd be better off posting in this FB group if you're looking for time https://www.facebook.com/groups/434732646574411/?ref=br_tf (insert philosophical quote here)
  14. 1000+ jumps on my Infinity with mesh back pad. Mesh isn't showing any wear that Ive noticed. Just got another infinity and wouldn't get it without the mesh. There are more infinity's on my dropzone than another rig at this point. Haven't heard anyone complain about the back pad wearing. (insert philosophical quote here)
  15. Anyone know if anyone is making wrist bands for neptune like they make for the viso2. I'm aware of the wrist wrap that your thumb goes through. I'm looking for more of the sweat band type. (insert philosophical quote here)
  16. http://www.lohud.com/story/news/local/westchester/2014/07/12/ifly-indoor-skydiving-yonkers-ridge-hill-open-early-2015/12565073/ (insert philosophical quote here)
  17. City approved the zoning change. Now we just have to wait and see when they start digging (insert philosophical quote here)
  18. That's a fair point, sir (insert philosophical quote here)
  19. Determining if your turn is too high or low depends on what type of turn you do. If you're plaining out without having to dig out with then you're ok. But with technique you could probably bring the turn up a bit. Its good to practice your turn from various altitudes so you learn the range of your canopy. Landing with rear risers should only be considered when you are dialed in. If it becomes your habit to land with your rears and you are still figuring out what is low or not low you may find yourself trying to dig yourself out of a turn with your rears out of muscle memory. Then you are i a high risk of stalling your canopy. Very dangerous situation to be in. There is no best wing loading to transfer to elliptical. Its all about knowing your are ready for the demands of an elliptical canopy. Talk to people on your DZ you respect for that kind of info. (insert philosophical quote here)
  20. Because all the time and effort it takes to handle the full RDS can be an issue with lots of traffic. (insert philosophical quote here)
  21. Heres what i do. I look at the line set and the canopy as two different items. So lets say a brand new canopy is $2000. A line set installed cost on average $375. SO the lines are worth $375 making the canopy worth $1625. Depending on the canopy and the type of lines determines value loss. So lets say sabre2. I would subtract roughly 75 cents for each jumps off the lines and a dollar off the canopy. (insert philosophical quote here)
  22. Have any deployment pictures of when the student is male? See if there is a difference in hand placement. (insert philosophical quote here)
  23. They live in a shopping mall not next to one. Traffic studies have been done and have shown that their impact to traffic will be extremely minimal.. (insert philosophical quote here)
  24. Yes. Basically the tunnel is being built in a outdoor mall. The entire mall is new development still in progress. The condos were not existing before the mall. They were built with the mall. The tunnel is planned to go on the lot next to the condos. Some of the condo owners are protesting it cause they are afraid of the increased traffic and the fact it will be in their view. It won't block any view it will just be in their view. (insert philosophical quote here)
