I don't think that's what triggered the response you got, it's this: What does this have to do with the situation you mentioned ie girls teams in the Open class? There is no link whatsoever that I can see. Am i missing something? You could have used teams X, Y and Z as examples of more 'fitting' averages I spose - take the French girls down to a 15.8 and the Russian girls down to a 12.6, and while you're there, drop Spa to an 18.4 and Panthers to a 19.8 (irrespective or their recent 24 average...). Or is that not quite as 'fitting' any more?
-
Fire's last 2 meets had them posting a 23. And the French women did a 17.8 at the World Meet, whereas the meet they did before that had them posting an 18. So while it is obvious that the World Meet only had 5 rounds I 'm not convinced on your 'true average' theory, or the point of it. Unless you think the French women are a 15.8 average team?
-
But it is a random-only draw for Rookies so not exactly a real average...

Thats interesting, would have thought they were 'on the line' but close to the edge if they pulled it off. Maybe you know their skydiving style better than me, i didn't see the jumps, were they busting and stuff? -

Thats true, its a reason to think it but probably not the best reason. Airspeed haven't posted a lower score, they did the draw but training never replicates meet conditions (as Kirk said 'they didn't have us in their face while they did it'). Maybe no obvious underdog in this case? -

Why are the odds stacked against Airspeed? They know how to be champions on the day and that's what counts. -
I've heard rumours of $15 an hour but don't take my word for it, contact a tunnel and enquire about work, I'm sure they will tell you.

Sweeet skydive...especially considering the brainlock on the 7th point...way to distraction control!

I think the following were pretty fast rounds: H O G 9 M 13 E 21 15 D 17 5 7 P J Q A 16 F K 6 19 It was definitely not sluggish...although there were a coupla slower rounds for sure. -

4way Open - Fire, Sinapsi, Panthers 8way - Airspeed, French, Russians 4way Female - French, Russians, UK or USA -
If it was AAA class I guess the feeling might be different - competing on the day of the meet, with the associated meet vibe, nerves, other teams there and so on is different from doing it on your own the weekend before (can be good or bad for that team). But since it is Rookie and the point is to encourage rather than penalize, I would say go for it. Not that I have any say since I'm not doing a Rookie team at the meet anyway! Good luck with your petition

No women in the top teams in the backpiece though, in the history of the sport, I think. Supports the strength theory, unless you think its coincidence. (4-way nerd moment coming up) Eliana - point Natasha - point Ditter - point Melanie Curtis - point Dawn - Outside Center Arianne - Outside Center Lise - Outside Center Nina - Outside Center Christy Frikken - Outside Center Sorry to anyone Ive missed out! -

I think the US Women's Team must have trained quite hard to get to a 17 average in the first place though. I think arguing that medals and meets doesn't drive more training and better scores is a bit lame. -
Surprised...they have always been great for me... I guess as JP says, you just have to know how to ask Any of you guys going this weekend for the Kirk Verner/ Gary Beyer Airspeed tunnel camp?

So the US Women's team doesn't count as one of the US teams then? *Runs to safe place on Wind Tunnel Forum to avoid flaming from people who know much more than he does on these matters* -
It's not THAT wild. I did 4 sessions in one night once with these guys (I was a little sore next day though!) Figured since I was there (Orlando) and they were there, I'd rather spend the money now than wait til I'd left, saved up again and have to buy another flight to FLA...Investment and all that So now you come to mention it, since they are here in Colorado, and since I don't really want to fly to AZ where I hear it's hotter than hell...rude not to really . Do I book with SVC or Gary Beyer?
-
Is it 1-on-1 only or possible to bring a piece-partner and work on block moves with a coach? I got some coaching with Kirk in Orlando a while ago and it was awesome.

How come I missed this? June 30th to 2nd July: Tunnel Camps in SV Colorado

Ever tried the curly Q exit? Basically like a 20. You can have it as a throw-away if your regular Qs are sucking. It's pretty much bomb-proof but you all have to be clear in separating dropping cheat grips before the key. Everyone has to flash extra-big and in particular point must do a major flash.
-
Seriously? Any more info on that one?
-
Just to continue on from/ update this theory..I have recently flown in Eloy for the first time and definitely did not have to wear as much lead as in the 12ft SV tunnels, even with heavier people. So that would support the idea that diameter is the key factor in how it 'feels'. Meaning...uh...the smaller you are, the bigger the tunnel you need?* * This is a *joke*. Althouh bigger tunnels for all sounds like a good idea

er...exactly
