  1. I'm familiar with the concept. I just disagree. I read it as: "It's okay to bomb/shoot/whatever our healthy, breathing, living men, but if you so much as touch one of their corpses, it's on!" To me, there's something fundamentally wrong there. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." - Winston Churchill
  2. Eh...some guys have never *really* had just a FF. They've had girls who pretend to be FFs, so they really don't understand that some girls are cool with just being FFs with no kissy face or cuteness. A lot of guys get a lot of practice at pretending to be more interested than they really are. It's habit. Of course, it could just be that whole weird tendency some guys have to try to marry FFs. They think to themselves, "Hey...this girl puts out, never nags, has a good sense of humor, not a lot of inhibitions, she's independent (doesn't need a man, you know?), etc. She's the perfect woman!" Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." - Winston Churchill
  3. I couldn't tan if I wanted to (melanin-challenged), and I didn't want all of my friends to get wrinkled and leathery before me, so I decided to go ahead and start smoking. Being pale sucks. Tan people can get way fatter than pale people before it starts counting against them. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." - Winston Churchill
  4. ...not on the lips. It's not some sort of moral issue for me, though. I have friends who are kissy people, so they kiss their "FFs". I don't kiss people unless there are feelings (yaknow, other than lust) involved. I'm not a kissy person, though. To me, screwing a FF isn't so different from masturbating (only better; but on an emotional level...pretty much identical). I don't know anyone who admits to making out with their hand while masturbating. Ohright...Corey...you don't have a FF. You have a future girlfriend. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. 5. If we're talking your typical four or five year auto loan, that APR is something like 45+%. That really doesn't make any sense. Are they including warranties and other optional products in the amount financed? Florida's (you're in FL, according to your profile) usury limit is only 18%, so even with all of the various loopholes available to different types of finance companies/banks/whatever, I can't imagine the payment you described is really based on only $8000. If you are eligible to join any credit unions, definitely check them out. If you or your spouse are veterans/dependents, try USAA. You can always try those lender websites that will offer you loans from multiple companies. As an aside, I never car shop without already having obtained financing. I might still go with the dealer's finance company if they can beat what I've already got, but I just can't stand getting to the table and seeing the bullshit a lot of dealers come up with. 6. Perhaps they thought he was an "enemy combatant". Not that I enjoy it when someone's remains aren't treated in the manner they requested, but I really find it hard to get excited about people desecrating human remains in a wartime scenario. It's war, for Christ's sake. On the scale of all the possible horrors (intentional, collateral, or otherwise) that can happen during a war, desecrating dead human bodies ranks pretty low for me. There is no guarantee we're even going to get all/any of your remains back. If they happen to be intercepted by the enemy and even mistreated, it's unfortunate, but the real tragedy is that this man is dead and his family is without him. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. 7. I know a lot of southern women who could give them a run for their money. A sweet little smile, a southern drawl, and finishing up with a nice little "...bless your heart" seems to do the trick. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." - Winston Churchill
  8. I can't think of any man I've ever encountered who, given the right bank account, couldn't nail at least one of my friends. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." - Winston Churchill
  9. I prefer to pay, but I get so much grief from men who claim to never have encountered such a thing (maybe they've just never met a woman who pays and puts out - but I can say in all honesty that paying for food/drinks has never been a factor in deciding whether or not I might hop into the sack with someone). I still pay, though. If it's a repeat thing, I have no problem with alternating between who pays, but if it's just once or I have no idea if/when I'll see him again, I pay. I've had guys get so ridiculous, they'll throw enough cash to cover the bill on the table and refuse to take it back. The waitress just ends up with a massive tip on those nights. I suppose I could be considered just as ridiculous for insisting on paying, but these same guys are going to be expected to pay by plenty of girls. Enjoy it while you can, ya know? 10. Stale bread + park bench + squirrels/ducks. Free, sappy, chicks dig it. If she sucks, you can always "slip" and fall in a mud puddle, so she can't trick you into going somewhere for a bite to eat. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." - Winston Churchill
  11. When is the last time you (to include your vehicle and property) were searched for firearms? When is the last time someone asked you whether or not you were legally allowed to possess firearms? What would revoking a license have done to prevent this crime? What part of the pro-gun (especially those who carry concealed) crowd's argument that they would like (the right) to shoot these violent criminals with their concealed weapons to prevent/lessen their crimes gives you (or anyone else) the impression that they "stand behind those people"? I would be thrilled if more people carried concealed. I would, but I know that carrying in your purse is a bad idea, and I just can't bring myself to stop wearing skanky clothes so I could actually conceal a handgun. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." - Winston Churchill
  12. Isn't this where someone mentions that if the boy or an interested bystander had been carrying, the boy would have stood a much better chance of not being publicly murdered? Then, doesn't someone say that, while attempting to stop the beating by shooting wildly all over the neighborhood, the concealed carrier would probably end up killing some 10 year old girl in the middle of her birthday party? Not that it makes a bit of difference to this news story, but I find the idea of a 15 year old in 7th grade slightly wrong. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. 13. Not only did I live there, I lived outside the "city limits". I lived there for a few years as a child (I'm only 22, so this was back around '88 to '91, I think), and I still haven't gotten used to the idea of shoes. Or paved roads. Or neighbors. I was down in Jacksonville a few weeks ago, and I drove through Kinston. I have absolutely no memory of that place except our house/property and school. It's not very memorable. 14. There is no polite way to describe my feelings for men in uniform. They make me happy. Confirming that a big percentage of skydivers are current/former military made my day when I decided to check out the USPA website. I won't have anything skydiving-related to contribute for a while (bring on May 5th and AFF, already!), but I can talk men in uniform all day. Jen "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." - Winston Churchill
  15. Tunnel time is part of the plan. I'm going to Florida, and it looks like every DZ I've checked out closes for at least one weekday. I'll be there the whole week, so I figured I could go to Orlando for some tunnel time on whatever day my chosen DZ closes. As for the tandem...I suppose I've still got time to think about it.
