Once again, we disagree. I think there are some instances of that, but not mostly. And certainly not in SC. But wrong by whose standard, Ron? Yours? Mine? There are a lot of times when I see people write things I just plain old don't like, but I may be the only person who sees it that way. For example, I very much enjoy a good troll, but I don't enjoy a mean troll. And, IMO, mean trolls do reflect the character of the person who posts them. Well, what do you mean by that, exactly? That we're not responsible for the words we write, and those words do not reflect on us at all? That it's okay to write any old thing you feel like, no matter how mean and offensive, because the internet isn't real? It is real. It's not the entirety of life, but it is real. And your words are a reflection on you. My experience has been much different. Superficially, I agree with you. For example, in real life, the gaps in my sentences (as well as the occasional stutter) are apparent, whereas here, they are not. But what I think isn't any different, because my mind doesn't undergo some metamorphosis when I log off. And I'm pretty sure that's true for everyone else too. The US is the greatest country in terms of resources, power etc.... We are also free to do what we want... That makes it the best deal in town. I think its the best place to live but others may not agree. Why do we have to be the greatest nation? We dont have to be.. We just are. Theres no disputing that. Whether its the best place to LIVE is debatable.

Because of our free market economy one party will always have more resources than another party. (Money, power, women, fried rice -- whatever..) The same thing would happen only there would be 4 parties instead of 2.

The fact that we can militarily or economically cripple any nation is a pretty good indication that we are the greatest.

It's not a question of popularity or political correctness, Richard. It's a question of politeness and character. If someone can't play nicely here, why would he play nicely in person? Is there some free pass given out that says, "You can say anything you want online, and it won't count in real life?" I guarantee you that it doesn't work that way, and if you have no credibility in the virtual world, there's no reason to accord you any in the real world. That goes double for people who don't keep their word. rl again with your version of intrigue.....

Do you really think you're going to enjoy doing solos for the entirety of your skydiving career? This isn't just another internet message board, y'know. It's a community wherein most of the participants know each other personally. Alienating all of them for the sake of what you perceive to be humor is going to make the time you spend on the dz very lonely. rl See my origional post.

Acually I do really well..... I have lots of kewl stories from a long productive fulfilled life. I guess that comes from being smart enough to get a really good education, making pretty good money and investmenting it and avoiding guys who feel threatened and intimidated by strong intelligent women. thanks for all that info... Some people have something to say about everything... Not just some things... They have been there, done that. They always know how you feel and they have a long story to go along with it. They have IQ's of 200 and weekly paychecks that equal the same. There, fixed it for ya'! I'm gonna vote for no PAs, even if they have some humor in them because it's still humor at someone's expense. I reguarly make fun of myself, and I really don't mind if other people poke well-deserved fun at me, but I don't like mean-spirited humor. Doesn't really matter what we think though, because we don't make the rules. I happen to agree with the no PA rule, though, and support it wholeheartedly. Walt I agree with you Walt... I'm against personal attacks unless they are funny enough to make you spit beer on your monitor. and yes I am bored. 12 hour night shift.

If a personal attack is really funny I think the "attacker" should get a pass. If you take yourself seriously enough to get offended by a post on an internet forum maybe you deserve to be attacked in the first place. I've been on the boards a few months and i've seen some really funny attacks.. Some of which were quickly deleted by mods before everyone could fully enjoy the hilarity that was the attack. I think this is a crime. Let the comedy remain. (and yes I am Trolling)
