  1. What absolutely blows me away, is that if you are a jumper yourself, and had ANY idea on the fact surrounding her death (IE THIS SITE), and you ALLOWED this misinformation to be published..........you are not a skydiver in my logbook any day of the week.

Yeah, working off wire reports.....great resource that is huh. Why don't you just start a rumor at one end of the trailer park and publish what comes out the end.:S

so, not only are wings containers ugly, but they use maluable metal for VITAL attatchments. great.

Ya know, if your going to be rude and bash a leading container manufacturer, you might want to use spell checker next time, Einstein.

    Maluable is malleable

    Attatchments is attachments

    Have a nice day!

All comparisons are equivalent, (body-body) (with lens-with lens).

When paying from $100 to $600 more for the same camera, and more for the warranty....they BETTER hand over a new camera with no questions asked.

  4. The difference between the two warranties, is that you have to pay out the ass for a camera at Ritz to get that warranty. You cant get the ESP without buying their overpriced camera. Mack is 3rd party, offered to many many distributors, and ESP is a single store specific. There is a difference.

  5. No Stratostar.....YOUR experience with Mack sucked ass. Others have very different experiences such as Katie, others and myself for that matter.

I have had to send in my Canon Digi Rebel twice now, and both times it was fixed promptly at no charge to me. Would I reccomend the Mack warranty? Based on my experience, yes, but there might be other 3rd party warranty companies that have a higher customer recommendation. I would Epinion or consumerreport it to find out for yourself.

  6. I have had the 110, 115 and 120. I have found that I like the color and clarity of my 120's more than of the others. Also, I wont buy any PC series camera unless it has the 37mm lens on it. The smaller lenses just dont get the color and light as the 37's. Good luck.

  7. It really depends on what you are doing with the camera. If your gonna put together movies that you plan on distributing, get a nice camera. But if your just doin tandem and ff vids for shits and giggles, get a used pc off ebay or somethin. I used to want the best, but cameras break all the time, and it gets expensive and annoying to replace them. As far as brand....I wouldn't get much other than the Sony brand, they seem to be the only one to hold up decently to what we put them thru.

  • Peter,

Right on dude! I was all excited to see that you guys would be down a camera man. I was picking up the cell to call your ass until I read that you already had a camera flyer. Oh well.

    Good luck there suckaman.

  • No thanks, I'll pass. I'm really not that concerned, just wondering. It's good that you guys are able to remedy the situation. If I even had a pond at my DZ and someone filled the well with concrete, sure as hell I would be out there the next day fixing the problem. Swoop ponds rule. And look at it this way...you can clean the pond while its empty and it will be all sparkly new again!

The pond is being fixed. Ian, Aaron & a bunch of the guys were working on it this weekend to get it ready for the season. Drunk assholes shouldn't be let loose near wells, unless they're being forcibly held in them.

Didn't the drunk asshole do this because people stole and sold his Koi fish he put in there when he build the pond as an investment? Worth thousands? Just a rumor I heard......truth to it? Yes/no?

  • I would like to create a 4way VRW team for next year, and I am currently looking for interested parties that live in the Pacific Northwest. I jump at Snohomish, but am up to traveling down as far as Mollala, Or. for team training. I am looking for serious parties only....as in ones that would like to compete in the fax meets next year, and possibly Nationals. Yes, I am ambitious and have set my goals high, but thats the only way one progresses. If you are interested, please sound off here, or PM me with some particulars on yourself. There is a possibility that 2 groups of 2 in different states that can travel to train every 2 months or so if we cant manage to find a total of 4 people in the Pac NW. Preferably on the west coast for travel distance. Hey Lodi and Skydance....you hearin this?

    Alrighty then...peace.

  • Icarus did manufacture in different locations when I researched them, but as of now, I do not know if they do. All I can say to you, is if you plan on buying an Icarus product, you will be better served buying a used canopy as compared to getting a new one. Find someone in your area that flies one and give it a try, but remember, up high....clear and pull at full altitude is where its at to learn a new canopy. If you do buy one, I would try to get one that was made in Spain. Especially for you at your location.

  • Hey PJC.

I flew a Xfire2 119 for a couple years, and I cannot tell you how much I recommend this canopy for what you are looking for. The Xfire2 has an amazing opening, awesome long spot comebacks (down to 13 fps on mine), manageable front riser pressure, medium recovery arc that allowed enough time for adjustments, rear riser input is generous with lift and gives enough warning before high speed stall and the flare...my oh my...the flare.....more than any canopy I have flown in its class. I can't tell you how many people said to me when I was flying that canopy, "dude....I can't believe how that canopy shuts down, like NOW."

If you want to learn how to swoop, and learn it with a greater error of margin, try the Xfire2 and do what Chachi stated at altitude before trying anything near solid objects....like the ground.;)

  • Which camp, or instructor you decide to go with can depend on what you are looking for and what your focus is with your canopy. Tell us what specifically you would like to accomplish and what your future canopy piloting goals are.
