  1. The mother board is not more than 3 years old. Anyway. I don't think I'd go that route anyway. I need an external HD as I'd like to put all my music somewhere so that eventually I can put it all on an IPOD and stop with all the dang CD's I have. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  2. Sounds great. Can we eat before 9 p.m. ??? I kid I kid. Calm down everyone, it's a joke. Ha ha funny and all. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  3. I meant running my computer off the external permanently. I guess it would be slow as it would have to USB the data over. So the consensus is that it's a HD issue. Anyone heard of the angle of the computer affecting such a thing before though? I mean it's like night and day with the thing. It's flat and not working, I tilt it up bam instant working, I put it back down, not working. Also, it did all this before, crashed who knows how many times and then one day bam all better for like months till now. I hate TOSHIBA!! Skymama's #2 stalker -
  4. I believe it is 2.0. Not positive, but pretty sure. Kyle, can I not use the external HD as my HD to run the computer from? Skymama's #2 stalker -
  5. ahhh how quickly I forgot. The reason my motherboard had to be replaced was because it had over heated due to the fans not being able to do enough cooling. The only reason I don't think that is suspect here is because the clicking starts as soon as I power it up. And I left it on all day the other day, but it was propped up at the angle, and it did just fine. Of course it's getting more air then. Ughhhhhhh Skymama's #2 stalker -
  6. Ahhh yes. It's possible I'll see what a .40 cal does to such a device. It's also possible I pound the thing into oblivion, scoop up the pieces and ship it back to toshita with a nice note telling them how I'll never buy anything they make ever again. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  7. It's at home. I know it's a satellite, but not sure what model. I can do that later. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  8. Ok, so I'll look into the external. I just hope my toshita cooperates with such a device. If not I'll email ya The dang thing is going to have to blow up before I stop using it!! It may be at the end of it's life cycle but I'll be damned if I'll let it go nice and easy. Not after what it's put me through. Plus, right now, a new laptop is not in the budget, even though I can get one for like $500 that would serve my purpose. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  9. The head being stuck is something I think is possible, but why the tipping helps I dunno?? I don't hear anything rattling around. There is a little vibration going on at times. Almost like something is rubbing, like a hard drive. I just don't get how as the thing hasn't moved in a while. Kyle, It's done this before and I didn't loose any data, but at that time I backed it up, well what I didn't want to lose. I've been meaning to get an external HD for awhile now. Maybe this is the kick I need. Laptop is fairly old, like 6 years at least, and it's a Toshita. Mother board was replaced like mmm just around 2 years ago. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  10. Ok, so my laptop has done this before and it up and stopped after awhile, but I'm wondering WTF!! Here is the deal. When it's sitting on a flat table nice and level there is a clicking noise, sounds like it's coming from the hard drive. Well this clicking noise also makes it so that the processor pretty much locks up. It's not a constant click, maybe every 4 or 5 seconds. Well I found that if I raise the keyboard/laptop up to about a 30 degree angle, like tilt it backwards, that the noise stops and everything runs great. It's as if something is out of whack. My laptop almost never leaves the table it is on, so I'm not sure what caused it to start this. Anyone ever heard of this? Oh and if I let the clicking noise go on unchecked/don't tilt the computer back when asking it to run something, eventually it will crash. Nothing big, I turn it off, reboot and it comes back up. WTF!!!!!!!?????? Help! Skymama's #2 stalker -

  14. I agree. I'm not opposed to compromising on things and think that sort of stuff is healthy and needed. I like the skydiving reference. I'm going to have to use that next time the change discussion comes up. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  15. I tried to tell him that was my opinion on the subject and he thinks that you sometimes have to change some things to make things work. I said I don't think I should have to change for a girl. She either likes me or not, and I'll just like her or not. You deal with the rest. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  16. I'll have to keep this in mind. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  17. Hey I wanna see him too!!! Skymama's #2 stalker -
  18. You mean moo point. I'm not sure what you're talking about Protestant, but someone like me who doesn't pay much attention to the inner working of religion can very easily think that Catholic and Christian are different. Easy mistake to make, but lesson learned. Enough about it though. NO SC!!! Skymama's #2 stalker -
  19. I did laugh at them to myself. I threw my so I should throw up on the table scenario at them and I don't think they expected it. I wouldn't say he is a pussy, but he does seem to conform to things for the sake of making a good impression. His sister can see the same thing I do. I'm not exactly prone to arguing, but when it comes to something stupid like what food I like why would I lie about it? Skymama's #2 stalker -
  20. that's what I'm sayin, big old paws. Could be that he'll just have big paws, but usually it doesn't go that way. Samsonite, I was way off Skymama's #2 stalker -
  21. I don't mind keeping my opinion to myself, but when it comes to relationships I don't think something like that should make a difference. Agree the roommate should grow a pair. I figure eventually it'll come out how he really is. I actually thought catholic meant you were not Christian, but now I understand they are not, and my point is that he used to go to a catholic church and she does not. Maybe I'll just play Along Came Polly next time she is over and point out how that all worked out. Good one Kitty!! Skymama's #2 stalker -
  22. What the masses think. Here goes; So the roommate has a new girlfriend. He is all I'm going to start doing this and stop doing that, yadda yadda. I never said why would you change who you are, but it's come to mind. Like she is into going to church every week. He has not been in years, but now he thinks he'll go again. Ok, I get that. She is Christian, he is Catholic. I wonder if he is going to tell her that? So far he has not. Anyway, they both said something to me that I almost lost it on. We were out eating, at a sushi place, which I don't eat sushi. They have other things, so I'll be fine. They more than once want me to try a roll of sushi and I politely say no thanks. Now it would be different if I've never tried it, but I have, and even tried it in front of said roommate and almost threw up that time. So they are like no this is really good you need to at least give it a try. I'm like trust me the ones I've tried were really good too I just don't like it, sorry. I don't really care for fish, even though someone did get me to eat a whole filet of Alaskan Salmon. Anyway back to the point. After not trying the oh so good sushi, my roommate says what are you going to do if you meet some girl and she says her favorite food is sushi? I said umm tell her I don't like sushi duh. Both him and his new girlfriend say that is the wrong answer. I'm like how? He says that I need to go with it and if she likes sushi then I should like sushi. His girlfriend more or less agrees. I go ok, so what I should do is lie, say oh I like sushi as well, take her to sushi and then throw up all over the table and say oh wait I don't like sushi actually? I mean WTF?? In my world I think a girl would rather hear oh that's great I've never cared for it myself, I actually don't like fish much, but I'd be more than happy to take you someplace and I'll just choose something that I like besides sushi. And a girl would be fine with that. Maybe i'm just not open enough Skymama's #2 stalker -
  23. Going through the replies you have what most have when it comes to leaving a job that you've been at for some time. You don't want them to have a hard time because you leave and that is understandable. However, how is that your problem? You wouldn't need to leave if you were paid more and treated right. Wouldn't you agree? So something better comes along and you want to better yourself. You need to do what is good for you. You should not feel ashamed of doing it, and they should not have any negative feelings towards you for it. I would not let them know you are looking, you already gave your reasons as to what you think would happen. Wherever you apply just put that they can not contact your current employer. If they ask why, just say you don't believe it would benefit your situation there. I've done that twice now, and I've not had an employer think bad of me for it yet. Skymama's #2 stalker -
