  1. Don and Susie's daughter had a really bad landing. She lived but has a lot of metal in her back. They were not sure for a while if she would live, much less walk. She just graduated from Boulder University. Thanks for askin
  2. Hi, I posted earlier from another thread, not sure where but it had to do with Don Kirlin. Yes it is the Kirlin family who put on all the fun times for us all. I have worked for Don and Susie since 1992 as a volunteer, then 1996 as a year round employee. The only full time employee. I still work for him as the full time employee. So I know what I am talking about. He and his wife Susie stopped doing the convention for mainly one reason. $$ They put out several thousands of dollars each year to support the WFFC. And they loved doing it. The continued to do it for a couple of years in hopes things would pick up. The last year after almost losing their daughter in a skydiving accident, the decision was easier. So about the property being stolen. They bought the land 23 years ago. Then about a year ago the last child went away to college, and they decided it was time to start building the retirement home they had worked so hard to have. Well the rest of the story is pretty much on this thread. The attorney and her live in Judge, stole it. Read all about it at: landgrabber.org. I know how strong the skydiving community is after living with them 3 weeks out of the year for the last 15 years. Anyway drop the Kirlins a line. Whether or not you like what happened with the WFFC, stealing property, especially by the god damn authorities is just bullshit, and you know it. Happy Turkey Day All, Ellen aka hangarbeyach
  3. Hi, I just wanted everyone to know that this is our own Don & Susie Kirlin. I have worked for Don and Susie since 1992 back in the Quincy days. I told them about this thread and they were so grateful that the word has spread here. If you want more information I have set up a blog, landgrabber.org. This is a very personal battle for the Kirlins and they appreciate all the support they get. Thanks on behalf of the Kirlins. Ellen
  4. Water fountain, or water fountains? I've only ever been able to find one. May I suggest, that they be marked on the Convention map that comes with the Welcome Goodie Bag. In the last published WFFC 2004, and 2003 Official Guide, around page 23-34, is the map. The fountains (plural) are marked on it. They are by the FBO. Great Idea though! We did not do a guide last year because no one reads it!
  5. Hang in there, after 35 years of smoking, I am smoke free for a little over a year. It is the hardest thing I have ever done. I still want one when I go to the bar, (once a week), but every hill I hike, every step I climb, every grandchild I chase through the yard, reminds me why I quit! I can BREATH! YOU CAN DO IT! Good Luck
  6. Thanks davelg, I could not have posted it better, and it shows. Also no idea what happened. I am lucky to open MSWORD, and very lucky to be here. But I can type like a wizzard! bye,bye
  7. Here is a way to get to us. Cut, copy and paste this into the address bar. Then you will find us. Sorry about all that. We will be there with rigs on. Will you? http://216.69.168.10
