  1. I just wanted to take a second and say thanks to Ward at Mirage. I'm getting ready to buy my first container (all I have left to do is get measured) and Ward has been very helpful. I've emailed him probably a dozen times in the last few days and he answered all my questions and quickly at that. I'm huge on customer service and Ward has definitely met my expectations for excellent customer service. I'll post pictures when I get the container. 2. This weekend the following will happen if everything goes as planned. -I'll get my A license. -My dad will do his first tandem. -I'll order my container. I already ordered my main. Does it get any better? It could be a little better but my SO doesn't get home for another 2 weeks. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 3. Has this always been here? I don't recall seeing it before. http://www.uspa.org/about/index.htm#consumeralert Edit to change SkyRide to Skyride. 4. My friend Jarod Houghton (SP?) was a GTA there for a while. I think he is still there. He teaches some art design class or something. Small world. His wife is also there. Her name is Sissavon. 5. Glad you are okay. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  6. It seems that whenever someone doesn't think certain people are made for skydiving they tell them to try bowling. Well with all this talk going on with golfers being athletes or not I wondered...Is golfing the new bowling? Student: "Man this skydiving thing is tough and scary." Instructor: "Maybe you should try golf instead." "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 7. That's frigging hilarious. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."

  10. I'm going to be out there on Saturday and would love to meet a couple of you. Let me know if you're going to be there. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  11. Does anyone have there phone #? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  12. I'm a newb and done with AFF, but the tunnel is unreal. I only did 15 minutes this last week while I was in California and I found it to be amazing. I didn't realize how much I moved around. After only 15 minutes I was doing a lot better. If you got the cash I'd do it. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 13. I just wanted to post a quick thanks to the group who met me in LA. It was nice to meet some new skydivers and finally put an actual face/personality to a name. If anyone ever gets out to LA look these 2 up because they are fun. I'll post some pictures later. I wish I could've jumped with you guys, but we will do it another time. Frenchy I took your advice and took Loral to Joe's it was an excellent meal. The diving at Perris went well. Thanks to Travis for a fun coach jump and to the people at the tunnel. I only did 3 minutes on Friday because that was the only slot that was open while we were there but I split a 20 minute block with my SO on Sunday and it was a blast. Mary (I believe that was her name) was very helpful in the tunnel and kept it fun and interesting. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 14. Why is the Protec safer than the Mindwarp? I'm not saying it is or isn't just curious about the statement. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  15. I thought the same thing recently. I wear a Protec now, and I thought it felt good. However this weekend I borrowed a Mindwarp and it felt really good plus it was very quiet. I think it's like a lot of things when you compare them. For instance cars. A $10K and a $50K both do the same thing, get you from point A to B, but the $50K does it with a better feeling, or something like that. 16. Well I'm getting ready to purchase my 1st helmet. I was able to jump in a Mindwarp this weekend and it was very comfortable, but haven't tried the other 2. Right now I'm leaning towards the Mindwarp because I know the right size and it was a comfortable fit, but I thought I'd get some other opinions. For instance is there any huge drawback to the Mindwarp that a newbie might not see or notice for a while? Any help would be appreciated. Edited to add: If you pick other please list your recommendation. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 17. I went to www.hotwire.com and limited my search to LAX area. I choose the 4 star hotel for $86. Hotwire doesn't tell you the hotel name or exact address, just the price and rating. It ended up being the Sheraton at the airport. I called them up to book a room and the night I needed they quoted me a price that was $40 higher than hotwire was. 18. Just my opinion here but I didn't enjoy working for Target. I did an internship there and then was offered a position as an ETL. ETLs are right below the head honcho of the store. The pay wasn't bad, but be prepared to work every other weekend at Target. It doesn't sound bad at first, but you start missing those weekend events. Some people don't mind it, but if you do stuff on the weekends I'd steer clear of this place. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 19. I think I saw this somewhere on here. Ever since then I've used it a few times. "Let me check my I give a fuck meter." "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  20. I wasn't planning on driving to Perris on Thursday unless I could get into the tunnel. Well...here is my general plan for the trip. Thursday I say we go have some (more than 1 but less than a dozen) drinks with Frenchy and whoever else. Friday my SO gets in and we are going to go flying. We are going to fly to Perris if their runway is open to general aviation (they are doing some work which should be done sometime Thursday) If it is we are going to do some tunnel and then I'm going to do a jump or 2. They said she may be able to ride co-pilot since she is licensed. If she can't I probably won't do any actual jumps. Saturday we are going to Catalina and Saturday night we'll probably go out. Sunday is a chill day and Monday I come home. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 21. I'd be up for going to the tunnel if it is open that late. Like I said my flight gets in at 8:45. Maybe drinks afterwards? 22. Thanks. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  23. Do Otters and Skyvans have a single pilot seat or do they have a pilot and co-pilot seat? Just curious. Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  24. The subject says it all. I'm coming out to California this Thursday to see my SO, but she isn't getting back in town until Friday morning. Instead of kicking it at the hotel I think I want to check out the bars and what not. Anyone interested in showing me around? The more the merrier. I get in Thursday at 8:45pm and I'm staying at the Sheraton at LAX. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience.
