  1. I just sold one of mine, still have the other. Know LOTS of people that have them and look at dz.com they're EVERYWHERE... great canopy that flies well and lands wonderfully! Watching airspeed fly them when I was in Eloy in Feb was great... they were doing something silly like 28 jumps every morning... or so...
  2. Rumour has it the first Boogie it will be demo'd at is the Kamloops May Meet in Kamloops, BC... Isaiah and Nick from PD will be there with a ton of other PD canopies and the new Storm! Check out PD's website and www.skydivekamloops.org for more information about the boogie.
  3. I wear a hemp freefly suit.. very baggy and provides great control... I've done 3 jumps with swoop shorts and a t shirt on.... They worked out quite well, but definately prefer the jumpsuit... especially because the butt of the suit holds up well!
  4. The last repack I paid for (I'm in the process of getting my ticket but was at a different dz) was in Perris, CA this past february, and it was downright SHIT.... It looked terrible, was uncomfortable to wear and when I repacked it myself 2 wks later I found that the cutaway cable hadn't even been cleaned.... makes me wonder what else wasn't done.... Oh, and I paid $70 +tax for the repack.
  5. On a similar topic, has anybody had linetwists on tandems down the risers and to the harness? I have a piercing in the nape of my neck and was told by another TI that I should take it out before linetwists did... (we were both doing tandems at the time so I presume he meant with a tandem rig on) That being said, I also fly stiletto 107's and have 1 chop on them b/c of twists.... had a couple other twists... never was it down into the risers nor near my neck... Thoughts, opinions?!
  6. As an instructor, I find this statement to be very disconcerting. You need to be capable of thinking for yourself (to an extent) as a student. You need to understand things that you are told, not just take everything an instructor tells you at face value. Question everything, ask for explanations and always ask a number of instructors, especially on things like canopy downsizing. Not all instructors are good at what they do. Many simply do it to make money, some do it simply for the love of the sport and there are many reasons in between. You should be aware of this and not just simply follow them off the bridge because they said to jump. If you are nervous, you need to ask more questions and understand why your instructor wants you to downsize. You then need to explain your side of things to them and make them understand why you are nervous about it and why you don't think it is a good idea. Perhaps explain that you have spoken with other people, both instructors and not and why they feel it is a silly idea for you to make such a large downsize with so few jumps as well. A good instructor will not simply disregard your feelings on such an issue... They will understand where you are coming from and help you make the right decision for the situation at hand. Either way, I recommend you downsize a bit slower than that, especially if two of your four landings so far have been plf's... land the canopy you're on really well first, a bunch of times before downsizing... if i were you, i'd rather be the guy with a huge canopy and both legs in tact than the idiot who downsized too quickly and can't skydive again for a period of time because someone else told me to. just my 2 cents. nick
  7. I see this goes back a bit, but I have personal experience jumping with, flying with, being coached by and being part of a committee that hired guy wright to organize at a boogie I helped run. This was May of 2007... He was quite professional, never landed anywhere he wasn't supposed to and was very easy to get along with. He was a very good role model at our event and the plan is to have him back next year i do believe. It's unfortunate to read some of these posts and see pictures because of all the organizers i've seen and worked with (rw, freefly, etc.) in the past 3 years, he has definately been the most professional...well, second most.. max cohn is a pretty f'n good coach/organizer...
  8. Ya this is what I have expected, just thought I'd see if there were any updates... I really want a tunnel up here... hopefully somewhere can support it and it's done soon! Although the US dollar is low right now, so it's safe to spend my money there too!! Weee!
  9. Any word on how this is coming along?! Is this going to happen?! All I really want is a wind tunnel in Canada... I'd even work there!!! ;) Anyone with info, please let me know! Thanks, Nicky B
  10. Hey all, Just wondering if anyone on here has worked at Lodi before... I'm considering moving there in the not so distant future and am looking for some insight into the operation. I haven't even jumped there before and have heard both bad and good for fun jumping.. but don't know anyone specifically who has worked there as a tandem instructor or otherwise... Thanks in advance
  11. ah ha, I did see the down winder... and i wasn't the only one too wimpy to climb up the face.. I did it once... that's good enough! I enjoyed the hikes out the long way. I'm in better shape now than ever! Keep enjoying that bridge! I am already trying to organize another trip somewhere. I need more!!

    Oceans 13

I watched that movie last night and couldn't help but turn to my girlfriend and laugh hysterically.... I thought it neat to see a rig on the guy and thought it would be cool to see a base jump in that movie, but then nothing and as the guy looks over the edge, a poorly computer animated paraglider flies away..... WEAK. Like I said, I almost cried laughing....
  15. Just wondering if anyone from British Columbia is going to be in Twin Falls the weekend of June 22nd?! I'm heading down and would like to minimize costs... Anybody from the NorthWestern US or Western Canada care to carpool?!? Let me know! Cheers, Nicky B
