  1. I see. What you are saying is that there is already a stone in the Bush. Bwhahahahahahahaha
  2. Scratch

    im a genius

Oh Dear!!!! I knew I should have cheated.
  3. Over here we refer to this as "Throwing a stone into the bushes".
  4. Here is a story. We have a guy at my DZ called Tim and nicknamed Tim-O-T after a popular shampoo brand on account of his long hair. Anyway a couple of years ago he got hung up on Table Mountain ( see attachment ) doing a BASE jump. He was stuck there for a few hours in full view of the entire city...caused a bit of a stir, newspaper headlines etc. etc. Needless to say when he got back to the DZ he found that his name had been changed to 'Cliff' For you guys skydiving at Lodi in California it is the same skinny Tim H you all probably know.
  5. Ah so I see you know Kerryn too. As for the visit, expensive yes but then only 7 pounds to the top in ASC. Hard to beat that...........oh AND blue sky. Lots of blue sky.
  6. Soutpiel here as well but I grew up in Parow so reborn clutchplate will do. The 'Dal is going great.....45 deg last Sat. Ah!! so I see you know Coenwat Coenie's new rig looks cool, by the way he got married last weekend.....must have been heatstroke. Rocket has not changed. The length has just got longer and the kak deeper. He fell through the roof of his hut the other day. He was trying to 'fix' it (useless info for the day) Norris still drinks 'Windhoek' scares the girls and refers to all and sundry as 'blerrie fools' Scratch
  7. I prefer the term 'clutch plate' myself.
  8. Crappy rum as well My mond proe soos die hond se gat
  9. A buddy who lives in Spain dropped in last night. I now have a rum hangover. Beer is my friend and true love, rum is not, I know this The thing is, I am such a booze slut. I love my beer, deeply, but there is all that other wonderful stuff out there...calling to me and I cannot resist. It looks different and feels different and tastes different and I must have it.
  10. I hate to admit it but I don't drink any more. There again, I don't drink any less either.
  11. The name 'Scratch' does not come from the skydiving world but rather the motorcycling one. It is a long story but the short version involves the following. A new Honda VFR750. A tee shirt A missing crash helmet Beer Ego and lastly waaaaaaayyyyyyyy too much front brake. I will leave the rest to the vivid imaginations lurking on this forum.
  12. This is going to sound odd but I have no idea why I started. I know exactly why I skydive now but as to why I started........nope. Mmmm.... must be the beer.........there has been a hell of a lot of beer between then and now.

  14. If the objective in golf is to hit the ball as little as possible.......................why play?
  15. Heard at the Diaz Beach Boogie just before Xmas. A certain gentleman after deep ponderings as to his recent and extended lack of exposure to female genitalia. " Christ!! If somebody had to show me one of those things now I would get such a fright I would call the police"
  16. Skydiving is like getting oral sex from your mother-in-law. Both feel great, just don't look down.
  17. Everything in skydiving seems to be measured by How many..? How much..? How fast.. ? How high..? How low..? Etc. etc. but when it comes to packing the only thing that really matters is, how?
  18. I was referring to the original Dytter. A block like thing with a gold analogue dial on the front. It beeps at one preset altitude. Noah used one before he stopped jumping and took up sailing
  19. Ah!!! The best advice yet. If my audible 'catches' me out I get a little annoyed with myself. I heard a good comment once..."Pretend you work for the post office..... keep checking your watch"
  20. Hey Boet I hear the weather is kak up North today. Very useful things.....audibles. The ground comes up quickly at 2000ft. when you have been sleeping. Both the ProTrac and the Pro Dytter are popular. I use a Pro Dytter simply because it is cheaper and audible altis are very pricey this side of the world. As far as warning beeps are concerned the Pro Track works the same as the Pro Dytter so as to which one is safer, there is no difference. The information provided by the ProTrack is interesting though and can certainly help you in your skydiving wrt fall rates and pull altitudes. It also has a handy built in logbook and a couple of other features. So take your pick but my suggestion at this stage of your progression would be to buy the Pro Dytter and if you start freeflying etc to add the Pro Track. You could buy an older Dytter or Time out..the Time out is nicer. The Dytter has only one warning altitude. The Time out has two or three. I am not sure as to the price of a Time Out but you should not pay more than R400 for a 2nd hand Dytter. Pro Tracks go for around R2000 minus the computer software and Pro Dytters for around R1000. Hope that helps Skydive safe....skydive lots. Andre'
  21. Mmm let me think!! From the ground.....28 way everybody in. For me...4 point 6 way. Beer....a crate and then some assorted stuff to finish me off. Boobies...Clifton beach last Sunday...dunno!! Seemed like hundreds.

    boobie poll

I know Skreamer's home town quite well. I can imagine he will prefer a long legged ostrich to any scampering poodle....or boobies for that matter.
