  1. There are many Dems on his show. Here is what the LA Times published on the matter it's titled "Democratic politicians lose a soapbox with firing of Don Imus" http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-imuspol13apr13,0,2734444.story?coll=la-home-headlines I guess you'll be calling the LA Times a right wing rag next. He's a Democrat, now quit being silly and accept the facts instead inventing absurd claims.
  2. See the last 4 paragraphs in this document: http://www.sunpath.com/downloads/bulletins/RSL_MasterV1.2.pdf Skyhook is an option, without it you get an RSL & Collin's lanyard and they discourage no RSL but acknowledge you may want a system without one (no point revisiting that)
  3. It looks like the entire thread titled "Vigil question" started by a question from user tb182 has been deleted. Is anyone at liberty to say why?
  4. Based on what? You've never listened to him. All you have to go on is a silly self reinforcing tautology, and nothing more. He is partisan, he is a Democrat.
  5. You're a hoot, I doubt you actually heard him except through 3rd parth edited accounts. He's actually a Democrat, and the Democrats lose one of their few radio platforms with his sacking, several Democratic candidates had announced their candidacy on his show for obvious reasons. John McCain was one of the few "republican" regulars on his show.
  6. David Attenborough's "Life on Earth", is still a great primer on all that "unsolved" stuff: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Life-Earth-David-Attenborough/dp/B0000AISIQ/ref=pd_bowtega_1/202-5614716-0067837?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1176464151&sr=1-1 It might cut into your time down the pub though.
  7. Support or no support, long term or not what he did was wrong. He KNEW this at the time, now it is becoming clearer to everyone that what he did was unethical.
  8. Nifong screwed up, but just be glad you weren't in his position. Suppose he didn't file charges. How would you like to be running for election in a 40% black county, while Gloria Alred, Jessie Jackson, and Al Sharpton were holding a press conference asking for your head on a platter because you were letting the white kids get away with an assault on a black woman? No matter what he did, he was going to lose. Huh? Fuck him! What he did he did through unethical misconduct with enthusiasm and tenacity. This is already a better outcome than I ever imagined possible, such is my faith in the judicial system but I for one will laugh my ass off at whatever predicament he's brought on himself, and I sincerely hope things get MUCH worse for him. He could have done his job without the misconduct, there was nothing mandatory or unavoidable about that, and anyone who thinks that railroading 3 innocent people is the only way to keep their job should in fact do the right thing at the risk of it, or at a MINIMUM strive to act ethically. Maybe the name Nifong will be a reminder to similar hollow men (actually that's a huge compliment for him) who might otherwise assume their office shields them from any and all repercussions. Here's hoping the guilty man faces some fraction of the hell he would have knowingly visited on his innocent victims for his own gain.
  9. No. Real arguments don't have script writers and this is clearly not a woman accustomed to winning arguments through intellect and reason. You'd think after 15+ years the bitch would have learned SOMETHING about parenting. The kid with the camera is catching hell right about now I'll bet.
  10. I definitely wouldn't say she's ugly, but who has eyebrows like that, really? Someone needs to do her a favor and confiscate her tweezers.
  11. I get the distinct impression that the LAST thing she is worried about is her son's immortal soul. Stupid bitch.
  12. One other thing. Since when was Imus a "shock jock"? The guy was mainstream, with mainstream celebs & politicians on as regulars.
  13. P.S. subscribers vs. sponsors.
  14. The way the FCC currently views it, space based broadcasting is distinct, but that is hardly the issue in this case (this isn't Howard Stern for example) since the corporations are potentially subject to the same pressures CBS was. For them they see the benefits or recruiting radio's "bad boys" outweigh the disadvantages. I think this incident is more blow-back from allowing massive consolidation of media corporations.
  15. I already have 2 shirts that do this, supplied by my company, everyone here wears them in the labs, and they are necessary. But it protects the equipment from us not the other way around.
  16. Yup, Les Moonves is a gutless worm and this was a phony political lynching. Imus will go on elsewhere, maybe satellite? Space, the last bastion of politically unshackled speech. Who's next on the griddle? After this you can bet hypersensitive ears will be listening with renewed vigor.
  17. Your average paper pusher does not face the same risk of political arrest and double jeopardy. Careful what you wish for, you wouldn't enjoy a nation without cops.
  18. Ah yes, it's "fucknut whuffo fascists" and you did repeat it in a reply to me in the Imus thread. You've since deleted that post.
  19. This is why religion is such a farse, even if there is a god. If just once life was detected comming from a jar of PB and these clowns guaranteed it would never happen, all of their assertions would be up for grabs. This is why science is so careful about making these absolute assertions, one of them could be shoved down their faces. Example: - World is flat - Ok, sorry, the world is round - Oops, we mean the world is a sphere - Uh, is it ok if we ammend that to mean an oblate spheroid? Many things in science get amended, so scientists know not to make absolute assertions, unlike the geniuses of the cloth. Fools constantly use absolute words. In science, if they feel certain about things they call them laws, not to mean that they can't be modified later. Hardcore scientists don't even use laws, they speak in terms of theories and that's it. A theory being proven incorrect does not undo it's utility, Newtonian mechanics are still used extensively and we'd struggle without them I think. Flat Earth approximations are also often used in the same calculations. These theories are intellectual tools, you don't need a chainsaw to break dental floss.
  20. Is your reward open to the posters you keep calling whuffo fascist nutsacks? If ever there was unintentional irony it's in the omission of a comma from this title (as displayed when replying to).
  21. And by best of course you mean the Scottish regiments.
  22. Not my President, I'm not American.
