I think the only way to securely remove his twitter privileges would be to amputate his thumbs.

I honestly see him releasing something he really shouldn't (as opposed to simply stupid) on twitter, simply because it pissed him off.

    Wendy P.

That may be why he isn't bothering with CIA briefings. He is smart enough to know he shouldn't be trusted with secrets.

I know it has been a tough couple of weeks for the left. Trump wins, Castro dies, Venezuela in collapse, record oil and gas find, Obama's legacy is reduced to the closing of Gitmo.... oh wait, as I said a tough couple of weeks.

On the other hand there is all this:

    http://addictinginfo.org/2012/05/12/150-achievements-of-liberalism-that-conservatives-seek-to-destroy/

History marches on and progress continues. It's like the tide. And like sea level rise. Can't be stopped.

  3. Yup, it's like Trump's whole attitude is that he is doing America a favour by agreeing to lead it. America should not ask him or his family to change their living arrangements just to make providing the needed security easier.

He is an important man. Maybe in a few weeks when it gets closer to the takeover date he will find the time to sit down with the CIA and get up to speed.

Seriously...what do you think will happen?

I'm a Canadian Liberal, not a Dem. But I've got a few words on this. It starts with the fact that it's not just Dems, it's all the experienced Rs that warned the nation Trump is not qualified, and is not up to the job.

I know, it was the "elites" that were against him, and the people made their choice. Or at least enough of the people in the correct states. Only time will tell who was correct, the people or the elites. But seriously, no one knows just what the man may do. The scary thing is the huge question mark his personal traits leave over the office of POTUS. It's not just that he is unprepared and untrained. In reality how does anyone train for a job like that? It's not his politics, he is far less conservative than any other possible republican who may have won.

In the end the fear is simply over the amount of power and seeming lack of self control he exhibits. Aren't you concerned yourself?

And then there is this guy's take on it:

  5. Not exactly a new story. Of course it's good. We still need oil and this will keep the price down. Meaning less power for Middle East despot regimes and the Russians. Canada will live with it, we are more diversified. Shale formation oil from fracking is a little expensive, but cheaper than tar sands oil.

    What load of bullshit.

These are the kind of fears people have of the Trump/Pence administration. As long as people feel they have to worry about things like this happening to them because Pence feels this way the fighting back will continue.

That's true, but they likely would have been even higher for Clinton. A lot of lazy ass Californians and New Yorkers don't bother voting. But either way the main message is the same, the country is sharply divided.

    ***>This science is not real.

    CO2 is a greenhouse gas - fact.
We are increasing CO2 concentrations - fact.
CO2 increases will increase retained heat, and thus lead to increased temperatures - fact.
We are seeing temperature increases that match what we expect from the increase in CO2 - fact.
    .

Which resulted in more food - fact.
    Less tornadoes - fact.
    More polar bears - fact.
An actually greener earth - fact.
No statistically significant change in: droughts, floods, wildfires, disease, sea levels, and zombies - fact.

Oh BTW driving an electric car changes nothing - fact.#
Solar panels on your roof changes nothing - fact.#
Carbon tax changes nothing - fact.*
Wind mill generated electricity changes nothing - fact.*

    # other than wasting taxpayer money
    * other than increasing ones power bill

Interesting. You would accuse the scientific community of spreading misinformation with unproven "facts". Yet the you would create a list of things you want to believe and label them facts.

Clearly you don't understand the relationship between CO2 and Zombies.

He was not singled out for who he is, or the his religion. He was singled out for what he has said and done. It definitely is rude though. He is someone in a position of power who is seen to be trying hard to impose his personal views on how others conduct their sex lives. He is working hard to marginalize and suppress people over it. The small amount of embarrassment and discomfort he had to put up with pales in comparison to the pain he is trying to inflict on others.

    Your facts are wrong.

He was booed as soon as he walked in the place, and several times afterwards. Completely uncivilized behavior, and wrong.

The people have the right to express their opinion. Suck it up and get used to it. The Trump administration is going to face an unprecedented amount of public opposition.

How many fucking times do I have to tell you? Wendy asked what makes America great, not what makes America best. Get over yourself and your also great country.

  13. If you are already bored something is wrong. Whatever it is, it won't be fixed with a smaller less stable wing that is less forgiving. Other than beating the "boredom" what are your goals? Congratulations on learning to stand up. That makes you a toddler instead of a crawling baby. Seriously, what you do next depends on what direction you want to go and your goals. The opinions you will get here will all be the same. You are not ready for what you are talking about. But we don't know you. So if you feel you must advance to more exciting canopy flying there is only one good answer for you. As many canopy courses as you can get. As quickly as you can get them. People like you used to be on a path to near certain disaster. But now real training and mentoring is available. Get it, save your life and keep skydiving interesting. All at the same time.

Legal immigrant isn't considered an American Citizen anymore?

Many legal immigrants are not citizens. Same as in Canada. Immigration is a path to citizenship, it does not grant citizenship.

Are you in favor of immigrants being required to:

    A) State their religion for the record, and

    B) Being placed on a list if that religion is one of the many forms of Islam?

What makes America great is the promise it holds. It's not really inherently better than other societies, but it makes an effort to try to be. Or it did.....

On further reflection, things that I think are important to America:

Immigration, it has always been important. Despite the current thinking that "Mexico is not sending it's best" the best is always what seems to make the great effort of uprooting themselves and moving away. Immigration is one of the great drivers of America. This is possible because American natural resources are not yet fully exploited. There is still a lot of room for population and economic growth. Fully developed nations can't cope with this. China for example. It's old and hidebound and fearful of its masses of people. There is no room for much individuality in that kind of place. In America it thrives.

Another very important factor is the 1st Amendment rights. Freedom of the press is what gave you Breitbart News and enabled Trump. But it's also what will limit the damage that can be done. And it will usher in change when it is again time for change.

this is just the beginning of the Trump bashing threads on this site and in the media

Same old tired play book with the Hitler comparison being the most desperate of the batch.

In reading the recent problems with dropzones and local and faa officials harassing them.. Why the hell do we allow these USPA dinosaurs to sit around and do nothing? Is the magazine really that good? Can anyone give me a good reason why we haven't throw this dated so called racket of an organization out the window and replaced with something that actually provides professional oversite to affiliated dropzones and is a advocate in our industries corner. Thoughts?

The only thing in your list of wishes that USPA doesn't do is oversight. It's not a racket and calling people "dinosaurs" and the other things you say about them further down post just show your skill at insulting people. Hardly helpful.

Is it worth $55/year? Yes. If you want real oversight, with audits, someone will have to pay for the auditors. And you will need to get the law changed to make skydiving regulated so that compliance is required. Otherwise DZs and members will quickly just drop out of USPA because they don't want a regulated system, and they certainly don't want to pay the fees that regular audits would require.

You can run for office in USPA, you can get on committees. Or you can just post angry ill informed outbursts here that highlight how little you really understand. I suspect you are the sort of person who will do the later. Once you start with talk about people "finger popping each other's assholes" guess who starts looking bad? It isn't those people.

    Un-fucking-believable.

I would not have thought this possible in the America I grew up in. I can't believe we're even having this discussion, yet, there it is.

I'm not surprised that this sort of thing has come up. And it is far from unprecedented in your America. (or Canada either) The real test is what happens to ideas like this. The world is full of people who distrust and hate, it's up to We the People to speak up and keep them in check. People like you, and Megyn Kelly, and myself and the rest of us.
