Oh Good Lord, I mixed them up. It was MO...don't you have that photo of her staring in great shock and horror at me? No, no second trip. Phone calls on occasion, but not out that way. I must've been thinking about school when I posted...I'm having a hard time adjusting (lost my keys [they were turned into the sheriff's office, thank God...I thought my car was gone for sure!!!], walked into - and sat there for a bit - in the wrong class, showed up two hours early...and it's only day 2...). Sorry about that. But Muenkel, that's a fine idea. Maybe we should make Camp Dudek a plan for sometime next year. Besides, I want to drive Micheal's little tractor thing. Not evil at all - just very unusual, odd, nearly unfathomable animals. Some cats are hunters, some are gatherers. I have a herd (6 indoor only). Some hunt, others gather. i'm a photoshop dummy. I keep seeing shots that have a single aspect colorized, while the rest is either high key or B/W. I haven't been able to find a step by step tutorial which will allow me to re-create that effect, and I have at least three shots from the shoot I did on Sunday I'd love to see how it works with just her eyes remaining colorized. Can anyone either tell me how to do that, or point me to the best, easiest tutorial for this? I can't afford to buy any plug-ins, and I know all I'm missing is one simple step...but I'm lost and asking for help. Thanks in advance! No...the light kept changing (as it will), and I was doing my best to expose properly to start. But as the sun set, it would get darker, and I'd only notice it after a few shots. Then I'd adjust for the newer conditions (better/more reflector, add the flash, adjust exposure, et cetera), but it didn't always work right. Thank God for PS. I did ask, three times (different ways, but still...same question.). LOL, at every break I was asking. LOL! He asked me if I were always so persistant, and when I sheepishly admitted yes, if it's something I want, he told me I'd be the first person he added on Thursday (the first day he adds to his class...but only if you've shown up on Tuesdays, first). He gave a lecture today, and at the break afterwards, quite a few people didnt come back (out of a class full at 40 seats, there were 5 empty after that break...). I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew... So while it's not definite that I'll be able to add, he suggested that I get the books before next class...and to be there bright and early. He even gave me a better driving route (seems he comes from my neck of the woods). It's going to be a tough class, but I think I can do it. We will have to dissect a cat, and that's going to be tougher than heck for me; give me a dead human and I learn tons and can handle whatever comes; give me a dead cat or dog and I melt into a puddle of tears. But damn, I want that Anatomy class...Dad said "go charm them into giving it to you..." I'm hoping I can be at least eloquent enough to get added. Thanks, MnealTx! There are some things I will work on, but not too shabby for an impromptu shoot. I had fun, she had fun, she's delighted with the results, and I'm pretty pleased, as well. I did have to play with levels on two of the shots - they came out a wee darker than I wanted, so I lightened them up just a hair. Made all the difference in the world, you know? So it's taken me 21 years to decide to go back to school. Today is the first day. I'm scared. Not scared like in skydiving, but still, scared. Or maybe nervous. Or maybe apprehensive. My first goal is to get into an Anatomy class. I have to crash the class - the school recommended that I show up and hope that someone decides to not show up so I can take their place. So I will show up. There are three Anatomy classes I can take over at the other campus; today, at 9:30, and again at 12:50. And tomorrow at 9:15. I plan to be at all three, begging and crossing my fingers and hoping that someone oversleeps, decides to not take that class this semester, or forgets they're in this class. That's about the only way I'll be able to get in. So wish me luck, send me vibes, say a prayer...'cause being able to add this class into this semester will save me an entire semester, and about $12,000... I keep thinking of the old Amy Grant song lyrics "Sometimes it takes a little time to turn the Titanic around." I'm trying to turn my Titanic around...and start over. But it's hard. Any words of wisdom from those who've crashed classes? Any helpful hints? Good bribes? I was thinking I'll offer some beer and a ride in my S2000; apples seem so, meh, "old fashioned", especially for college professors. LOL, Jimmy, the alley is just an alley. The background for all of the shots was a lavendar bedsheet. I used a reflector on several of the shots, and the rest was either flash or natural lighting (I can't remember which was which, other than the glam one used the reflector, and that Unguarded was while we were taking a break, and was flash, I think...). You have a ton of models sitting around you - you're married. Photograph her, or the kids, or the kids friends, or the relatives...I just happen to be friends with her, and was able to help her and at the same time practice photography. Thanks for the compliment, too...it's really neat to see that others think that the shots are as nice as I think they are...kinda hard to be objective, you know? Very nice tribute. Steve will be missed; he was an incredible conservationist, animal trainer, zoo keeper, breeder, entertainer, and most of all teacher. He has taught so many children so very much about animals, and that contribution can change our future as a globe. Rest easy, Steve. And thanks for all you did. You made a difference. As I said on another thread, I didn't jump this weekend (haven't in a very long time...sigh...). I did, however, have a chance to photograph a gorgeous and delighful lady. She was so much fun to work with, and took direction well. We have another shoot set up shortly (when I can get on top of school work *and* have a day off at the same time...), but she was very pleased with the following shots from this one. I'm pretty new at photographing people; I am very comfortable with candid stuff of people, animals, and with some sports. But shooting headshots/vanity portraits is something else entirely. So I'm pretty pleased with how this attempt came out (considering we were shooting in the alley behind my place...ROFL...). Anyway, enjoy!
