I remember someone suggesting donation barrels earlier this year placed near the entrances to the bridge im sure those funds could help somewhere, or if they were signinfigant, give them to the city.. as a "token of appreciation" of somesort, perhaps make them a gaudy color (like bright pink) and pass out literature(referncing the pink barrels) to the crowd explaining our current plight, and that there might not be jumpers next year if nothing changes...

    Personally tho, i like the nps "workaround" plan involving the private landowner and permission from the state to land in the river..

    And the whole thing really is a shame, because a 1$ admission fee (jumpers and staff included)per person could raise a-quarter-million-dollars for the city..

    but the pamphlets should definatley be made, ill print them for free... we just need some quality narration... (tom,nick,jason..)..
    we've got three weeks to make something happen..


  7. if im not mistaken, there was a company (basic research?) who manufactured for a bit a high office parachute escaape system... or HOPE... it consisted of a statci lined round and claimed it could be used from the tenth floor up... (100 ft plus..)

    the idea behind the round being you might break your legs on landing, but at least you didnt fly back into the building and collapse your wing, then break your everything....
    so i guess check google... or maybe br...good luck.. hope you never need to use it.

    if you own the property, and the tower, that constitutes legal right?
    what if we got a large group together, formed some kind of legal entity or corporation to avoid liability, all throwdown 500$ -2k and buy this fucker...

    7.5k for a 300 ft freestander... in your backyard...


  15. or better yet, forget "fake" drugs like base or sharkfucking and just start with real drugs.. im sure a few hits of acid, coupled with an axl rose caliber speedball consisting of coke and heroin and a few hookers might get you blood pumping...
    but dont let anyone else stop you... i base for one reason alone, and it hits me everytime i land and walk away....

    slider down, maybe not, unless the opening shock ripped the slider (is this possible) but slider off i would think that you would just streamer in, from 150-200 feet, this could very much be lethal...

  19. im scouting out a site in my hometown, 450 foot outside climb, never been jumped.. its guyed and was part of a radio station that has sience been remved and replaced with oldfolks home... how can i determine the modulation (am/fm)and whether its still activ? thanks -b

    as a side note, we had an 8 yearold soccer team in the studio a few days ago (im a photographer by day..) and i have some bridge day pictures on the wall next to some freefly, and one kid says "hey look, skydiving" and points at the bd pic.. and his buddy next to him says "no thats base jumping because it is off a bridge, or span.." intelligent kid...


  25. .. ive been reseaching this subject for some time recently, the name of the ssketch is "codex atlanticus f 1058" google that and youll find what youre looking for...
    now if anyone outhere knows where i can find an image of the entire page that 1058 is on that would be beyond helpful..... so far ive only been able to find a cropped close-up of the parachute, i need all the backwards italian as well.... pm or email or fone call would be great..thanks to all in advance and i hope this helps the originall poster...:)
