  1. so im assembling my new (to me) canopy tonite and
go to hook it to my harness only to realize that
    1) im a fucking retard ..and
    2) the harness has small rings while the risers have large..>:(

    so...
if theres anyone out there who has an extra set of risers (manufacturers included..) w/small rings
that i can buy/borrow for the weekend and they can bring to the bridge that would be supercool...

feel free to pm or call 904.449.8081 whenever..

thanks and i owe you one... actually fourhundred and twenty of them...

  2. in opposition (mood-wise) to my other thread i just wanted to reiterate that bd is in eight days!

fuck yeah... i ahd such a blast last year im looking forward to another round of stupid tricks and over-delaysB|

    no vitals,

as in definatley dead... no two ways about it...

do you take thier rig off,

this was the biggest thing i was wondering...
do you remove the rig and take it w/you so as not to associate base w/ thier passing
    .....or.......
do you leave the rig so it IS associated w/base and "friend" isnt considered a suicide...

    certainley a dilemma..

(and i would never leave someone behind unless they are for sure, 100 percent deceased...
    period....)

  4. its a strange morning this morning and i had some wierd dreams last nite... this one might be a bit sensitive so please approach with an open mind..

    consider this hypothetical situation....

you and a recently aqquainted jumper are at one of his/her objects, not bros, just recently met aquantainces.. you exit first, 350 ft 2 seconds hh, on heading, flare, yee haw.. you look up to watch your newly aqquired friend over-dely and impact the gravel at line stretchB|

no vitals, and no previous discussion "just in case"..

    so... what do you do?
call the cops and ride it out?
do you take thier rig off, then call anonymously?
    just bail? (i hope not)

i dunno exactly what would be appropriate, and hope that i never have to know, but was just wondering...

assume that you dont know any personal info sohrt of a name and basics.. dont know family, friends or even thier fone number..

anyone else notice the complete lack of t&a?
anticipate 300-400$ on airfare... 300 being a pretty good deal...
where can i find more logistical information about the area? (accomodations/camping?/airport location/carrental? etc...

    ps... puerto rico base?

    For example, I don't notice much difference between a 230 and a 210, but I do notice a big difference between a 150 and a 135.

its a percentage thing... 20 sq feet is x% of 230
    and 15 sq ft is y % of 150

    y is generally > than x....

    (or am i wrong?)

  7. well the interlaken operation was tourist tandem only.. no dz, no student gear nada... just a rented heli and a nice open meadow... but maybe you can just flap your arms real fast...

personally i carry my rig everyehere i go.. just in case

as for the 2 jumpsuits, helmet blah blah blah.. id scrap all that crap...all you really need is a rig a logbook and a sense of adventure...
    good luck

  8. i had a similar trip last summer... i definatley would bring your own gear tho... pain in the ass yes, but suck it up...

i had a backpack on my back and my gear bag on my front everywehere we went, and only made 3 skydives and it was worth every bit of it..

interlaken is one of the coolest places in the world imo.. go find mark or chris at the funnyfarm and jump thier heli... i payed 40$ to 10,500 feet in front of the eiger while everyone else was at the convention paying 70$ to 5,500 over rantoul...:)

If the route R or X rated it can get a little scary. R means run-out which means you're going to go far above you last piece of protection and fall a long way if you fuck up. X means a fall is likely to result in a severe injury or death.

i suppose all skydives are "x-rated" then...
wonder how you would rate a base jump...

  10. ive done zero... but i would imagine the nrg would probably be a bit better than the perrine, because you have more air if you totally fuck it up..
alot of people have gotten away with alot of really stupid shit there, intentional and otherwise...

or maybe a terminal overhanging a...

  11. booth and strong developed the tandem system together as far as i know...; there was a cool picture of them doing a tandem 2-way in the pre-drouge days, ted with no goggles at that, and bills passenger out to the side of him.. maybe someone could post it?

ted strong also did a tandem off the new river gorge bridge at one of the brisge days before the faa allowed tamdems a tso...the pics are out there..somewhere...

  12. pictures are generally prohibited at all major concerts/events, technically they own the copyright to the performers "image"... hence the horrible quality, a disposable camera.. i wasnt willing to risk my slr or my slot on crew...

  13. lol... he played the super bowl in jacksonville last year (half time) me and a skydiving friend replied to a superbowl volunteer ad and worked on the setup crew for half time... this means we staged in the tunnel to the field for the entire second quarter, as soon as it went to commercial break (after the 2nd..)we all mad-dashed our pieces to a predetermined place on the field, assembled som pyrotechic towers on the quick, and then stood in as "the audience" for the tv cameras.. so lol "no shit there i was" on the 50 yard line at the fuckin' super bowl in front of 80,000 screaming idiots and who knows how many tv viewers... a once in a lifetime experience to say the least...
and i got some cool pics...of paul mcartney.. from 3 ft away .. as he was escorted to the stage from the sideline...
