  1. Jo, Your late stage revelation of the DAN COOPER inscribed twenty is odd to say the least. Why didn't you mention it on Dropzone long long ago? We aren't the FBI. We've heard all sorts of improbable claims you've made. This wouldn't have been any less credible than those ones. Your selective disclosure does you a HUGE disservice. We NEVER EVER get the whole story from Jo Weber. Selective disclosure raises the possibility that you withhold info that would eliminate Duane as a Cooper suspect and disclose only evidence that supports your theory. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 2. Not always revisions. Sometimes Jo tosses in brand new facts, like the just revealed twenty with DAN COOPER written on the bill in red. Withhold, tease, over promise and under-deliver, that's her MO. She withheld Duane's watch from the FBI and then complained about their DNA analysis. She just now reveals the DAN COOPER twenty labeling. It's so counter productive but there's no hope that she will change. How stupid would it be to inscribe DAN COOPER on an otherwise innocuous twenty if you were indeed Dan Cooper? Duane might actually do something that dumb. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 3. Jo wrote ??? What "single larger one"??? Are you referring to the C-130? It is a 4 engine turboprop and sounds completely different from a jet. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  4. Jo, If the guy who bought the van pilfered evidence or money, why wound he ever tell you he found anything at all? Makes no sense to me. As for the twenty with Dan Cooper written on it in red I don't know what to say. I don't think you are a liar but this late stage revelation strains credibility. Why would Cooper write Dan Cooper on a twenty and keep it? Again, makes little sense. What else are you holding back? Why do you constantly tease and conceal? It's so counterproductive. BTW a T-33 is a small (not big as you claim) two pilot trainer and not especially loud in lower power settings. You can buy one in flyable condition for just under 100K. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  5. Agree on the utter futility of a helicopter trying to chase a 727. Wonder what H was thinking? He is no dummy but rather a very savvy aviator. Flew P 51s in the military. Kept flying afterwards. He had a plan. Maybe to find Cooper after he jumped? He couldnt have realistically expected to chase the airliner successfully. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 6. Jo, How can you say you were there when Duane put the money in the river? Your vivid imagination and bias places Cooper bills wherever they suit your theory. You put some in the bag tossed in the river and some in the van wallet. Your credibility suffers when you state speculation as fact. Take a clue from Vicki. She never crosses that line. I bet I've been closer to a Cooper twenty than Duane ever was. I have one in front of me right now. If only it could talk... 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 7. Not interested Jo. I don't have the faith you do in the accuracy of ANY of the composites regardless of witness endorsement. Seen too many examples of witness blessed composites that were way off the mark. You are entitled to your conclusion that Duane is a dead ringer for the composite you think is the most accurate version. I do think you are biased but we all are. Norjack was a wildly creative crime. Duane's prior comes showed no creativity at all. Just routine run of the mill stuff inexpertly executed as evidenced by repeated arrests convictions and imorisonment. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 8. Jo, I just don't think Duane's Jefferson photo is a good match. I've seen way better. Burnworth for example. Also who is to say that the FBI sketch accurately depicts Cooper? You treat it like it is a photo of Cooper. It was drawn by somene who never laid eyes on Cooper. I've seen so many law enforcement composite sketches endorsed by eyewitnesses turn out to bear little resemblance to the real perpetrator. You are biased. I doubt if disinterested parties who had no contact with you would see the match that you see. Do a photo lineup of Weber, Peterson and Burnworth and see what percentage of disinterested viewers see Duane as the best match to the FBI sketch. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 9. Jo, Why make such a big deal about Duane's Jefferson photo? It's not a good match to any credible sketch of Cooper. Want to see a strikingly good match? Look at Don Burnworth. He was a 727 Captain. Sheridan Peterson is a decent match too. He was a very accomplished skydiver and smoke jumper. Duane was a small time crook. Not a pilot. Not a jumper. Three facts. No genealogy research will change that. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  10. Jo, Why pursue genealogy? It won't prove Duane was Cooper. Prioritize. Look for evidence provng that Duane knew how to jump. Prove he knew something about 727 flight configurations and resulting speed limits. Who he may have been acquainted with or related to does not seem very useful. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  11. Jo wrote Not a chance Jo. The FBI doesn't care about this forum. The FBI can't shut down websites or forums unless they are used in furtherance of criminal activity. The Justice Dept shut down a prostitution site recently http://www.dailydot.com/crime/myredbook-fbi-prostitution-sting/ and they shut down child porn sites all the time but they'd have no legal basis for shutting this site down. Skydivers don't roll over for arbitrary law enforcement actions and most are strong believers in the right to free speech. Many of the same jumpers who hate the content of this forum would fight hard to keep it running if the FBI tried to kill it. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 12. Jo wrote Sure doesn't sound like the Carr I knew. You sure you aren't putting some spin on this Jo? Could he have been kidding you? Did he actually sound menacing? Let's have some details. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  13. Jo wrote "signals on mountains"?? What exactly do you mean Jo? Don't waste time searching for your imagined radio tower triangulation system. It's a fantasy not a fact. Cooper used eyeball nav and guesstimate dead reckoning, not radio nav. 377 T 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

  15. Nothing conclusive. Before the forum turned into an attack fest we surfaced some interesting possible suspects. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  16. Jo wrote Jo cant help herself. Nothing is straightforwardly disclosed. Everything is presented as a tease with hints of future blockbuster revelations that predictably never occur. Jo, you CAN tell people what is going on if you want to, but you obviously find the tease preferable. You even teased the FBI, holding back certain objects such as Duane's watch. The later you complain bitterly about them holding back info from you. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

  20. I had one in the early 70s and they just weren't loud enough (in a Bell 500 helmet at least). I still have mine and it still works. Steve Snyder was a real pioneer: audibles, AADs, thin altimeters etc. Steve met his end in an F 86 surplus fighter, got too slow on a flyby. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 21. I've jumped from a DC 9 jet. No chance of getting fried by exhaust. You fall below the plane's altitude too quickly. You don't even get a whiff of fumes or a warm blast. Nothing. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  22. Jumped at Byron DZ yesterday, Amazon's old hangout. Nice fall day, cold upstairs and blistering hot on the ground. BEAUTIFUL views of the entire SF Bay and Sacramento Delta system. Here is my first landing from yesterday:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiiHs_OtGJA I didn't stow my slider (you can hear it flapping) as I wanted all the drag I could get in the no wind conditions. No swoops, just 747 style landings, straight in and full flaps at the end. GPS showed my approach speed at 30 MPH. 46 years in the sport with no injuries. I leave the dangerous stunts to the hotshot kids. They do swoops that are on the bleeding edge of disaster. It doesn't always work out. There have been several helicopter medivacs in 2014. Opened at 13,000 ft on first jump to give max canopy hang time. I had telemetry gear and was carrying a ham radio walkie talkie as well. Fun talking to hams up to 80 miles away while cruising two miles above the Earth. Carried position reporting gear too. See my track here: http://aprs.fi/#!call=a%2FAF6IM&timerange=3600&tail=3600 Zoom in for more detail, scale is on upper left. Just click your mouse on the slider and slide it up to zoom. One of these days I am going to jump with a 1971 vintage CB walkie talkie and demonstrate that Cooper could have communicated with a ground CB station for 15-20 miles easily while aloft. The only problem is that there is ZERO evidence that he used radio comm or nav gear of any kind. But why let facts get in the way of a pleasant fantasy? I'm not, however, going to replicate Jo's VOR detecting vibrating corset stay device or her tower triangulation transponder nav system. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 23. Jo wrote Actually Jo that is not correct. It had nothing to do with Area 51. from trackyourtruck.com. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  24. Jo wrote If Bruce can't prove that he didn't kill Cossey then he must have done it. Joe Weber logic. I thought the burden of proof was on the accuser? Bruce Smith, the killer reporter. Give an interview or DIE. Terror journalism. Tina was very lucky. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  25. I wouldn't hold my breath for the cops to show up Bruce. When Jo gets finished bending their ears they will be too dazed and confused to bother you. The fact that Jo would suspect you as Cossey's killer makes it apparent that hunches and leaps of faith rather than facts predominate in her in her crime solving analysis. I'd give you as Cossey's killer and Duane as Cooper about equal odds. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
