  1. I'll stay away from the ones that give you diarrhea, the rest of the symptoms I'm not too worried about... PS I would also strongly recommend if you are unsure of the radiation from a particular A, just call the tower owner and simply ask...
  2. Damn, am I the only person that thinks that these local conflicts are best settled outside of a worldwide forum? Meet up somewhere at a bar, drink a beer together, and talk it out.... If that doesn't work, then tell the world how little you like each other...
  3. I think we need to deathcamp a skydiving tax attorney, and get him to work some paperwork for us. I was thinking we should start a non-profit entity, dedicated to the advancement of fixed object jumping. "Keeping adrenaline addicts off the streets at night". Maybe get tymkoder to throw the gayness in there, so it seems more legit for a non-profit. Either way, get a tower corporation to donate it to out to our legitimate charity, and let them take the tax write off. Might be better for them than just walking away or selling it on ebay. If it is a liability issue, I'll sign all the papers the corporation wants, absolving them of responsibility. We'll build a shack at the bottom, and take turns keeping the lights on. Or, talk the fuzz into letting them put their transmitters on it, hang a couple rainbow flags up there, etc...
  4. Yea, I was thinking about the coffee can idea, PDR style. I think it was even used in BASE for a while. And I'm with you hookitt, its only scary the first time... hehe
  5. I wanted to go back to a 7-cell, and like PD. Ended up with a Spectre 120. I also have a tendency to pull low, and think the Spectre opens too slow. (for my taste). The hard openings won't bother me, that is the goal. Just don't know how skydiving lines will handle whacks like that...
  6. I couldn't imagine doing a jump without mine. They are pricey, but I have never regretted shelling out the cash for them. The alternative sucks pretty bad...
  7. Just wondering if anyone has tried, or heard of, using a mesh slider (small or large mesh, or even a PDR style) to get a Spectre to open faster. I've seen some crew guys with mesh on their Lightnings, but not on mainstream rigs. Don't know how it would affect the openings, might have to make one and find out before long...
  8. Just wanted to make sure I have all the details straight: JT jumps with skis last week, cops tell him not to. He then continues to jump with skis and with local TV cameras later in the evening. JT knows that it is wrong, refuses to apologize, and taunts all those who care about the bridge. JT invites everyone to jump from "his" bridge, the cop thing and the rules are being blown out of proportion. JT kind of apologizes, says that he will be nice and play by the rules... JT jumps with a surfboard this time, almost hits people on boats underneath... JT talks to Tom, says he looked below when he held the surfboard between his legs, but didn't see the people 486' below. And somehow didn't know that a surfboard might slip out from between his legs and fall away? JT and Tom talk, and all is well again in Twin? A couple memorable recent quotes: "and please trust that I love and want o preserve the bridge like all of the rest of us... without it, i would not have such a perfect place for BASE jumping and deathcamping." "and we are polite and respectful ambassadors for the sport." "we must not cause more turbulence ourselves on an already minor and docile situation."
