    "Not yet" doesn't equal "Never".

    and your point is?

I think what there trying to say is just cos its been there 30 years doesnt mean something bad isnt going to happen and for the sake of safty those sorts of instillations should be moved off shore.....

If you need me to simplify i can send you a pm:)

Thank you for a "non-smart ass" answer!

also 100 pages shorter at the start would mean i go back to reading it. I cant get past the first 100 pages, finding it very boring. Would rather read Papillion again

Now theres a GREAT read!!! Your right about the end...Could have been a bit shorter..

I don't disagree in that regard, and (as said above) think it's a better idea to keep it off-shore.

Hell, build it on a platform 50 miles out in the ocean, for that matter.

I am thinking the farther from the mainland for ANY of these facilities.. the better.

I would even add the labs that do genetic manipulation.

The arrogance of people that beleive nothing can go wrong is something that can and will bite us in the ass one of these days.

  6. Stigmatism as well>:(

Love my waycools and v cheap as the lens is an insert so you dont have to worry about curve and you change the lens if your prescription changes. You get a black, clear, and orange covering aswell. Cost me $120 aus to get the lenses done...Bargan!!!

This is the cheapest way and sometimes the only way if they cant fit your prescription on a curved lense ( have had problems with certain models of Oakley).;)

Ok ..... Would i be way off mark by saying there are no good low profile HD lenses wider than .6?

If i am wrong can someone please tell me the lens name so i can go and buy it???:)

There's none that is as small AFAIK, but you should not be sidemounting that big (long) camera anyway IMO. These cameras should be topmounted ONLY for safety's sake, I really do not like the look of that long (and fairly wide whatever other people say) box. When you topmount it you can easily put the nice lens on it it deserves. This is stupid IMO, sidemounting a long camera then putting on a crap lens bringing the quality of this very nice cam waaaay down so it's "low profile" when the entire helmet is now anything but :S

Mines topmount at the moment for that very reason. And i wouldnt put a shit lens on it which was why i asked the question in the first place.

But as far as side mount.... If the box is the same size as my pc 105 with lens except for the 12cm extra length why should they only be top mounted? will that extra few cm make as big a difference as you say? and how?...Im guessing just a little more to snag?

Not taking the piss :Sserious question:)

The only sidemount I'll use is a nice small pc106 with a low-profile lens. Adding a few cm here and there shouldn't make much of a difference but the difference between a pc106/107/109 and a cx6/7 is HUGE. I'd only consider it a maybe (a BIG maybe and I'd still not prefer to have to jump it) it if it were a one-piece molded helmet with the end of the box in no way sticking out, so no lines/riser can get behind those 12 cm. How come a few years back when the choice was between a TRV and a PC style camera noone thougt it was a good idea to sidemount the TRV cameras (TRV 16, 25 etc, all comparable in size to the CX6/7) and now all of a sudden it seems like it is safe to do?!?!?!?!?!? Mostly it seems by people with just a few hundred jumps and with no previous camera flying experience? I'm thinking we'll see more and more riser strikes and worse this year [:/]

You are seriously comparing a TRV to a cx7 in size??????

There is no way i would even think about putting one of them on the side:S but the cx7 is a lot different...Thats why a lot of people are thinking about side-mounting....And when i put my cx7 box and pc box together There is only a very small difference in size. But add my HD lens and no chance im wearing it

    So topmount for now
    :)

Why should I give way for free what took years of study in books and trial by fire and investment in money and time and many jumps to learn to a bunch of young punk asses who not only try steal your shooting style, but also try to steal your slot you've had for years by working your ass off and making a major investment in gear and to a dz, only to have you guys sell out and work for less then the market rate in order to suck ass and take way work from the old dogs.

Not saying your one of those (for the record) but it's people like that who fuck up the industry by being willing to pimp out their ass for half the going rate and an ego stroke with some smoke blown up their ass for an extra tickel. And there is a never ending supply of them to replace you, willing to do it for even less money and only a free jump.

You want to learn all this shit then sign up for a class or go buy a book or a video or god for bid go learn it the way most of us did, the hard way.

Some of us are doing it the HARDWAY..... Maybe your still living 30 years ago, A lot has changed since then more jumpers, cheaper gear, bigger use of wrist cameras...ect. Its fucking hard to become a good cameraman at a GOOD dropzone!

By the sounds of it you should be having a go at the DZ rather than
people like me trying to get jumps together when you have fuck all money. If they want to sell and inferior product at a cheaper price ( yes im probably not as good a cameraman as you) thats not my problem!!!

PLEASE.... Tell all of us NEW camera flyers without 30 years experience how to get to become a success?.. all the packing,Driving, Gardening, Wiping asses ive done to get the gear and jumps ive got....and now id like to hear the HARD WAY!!!

There are just more camera flyers now and less jobs....The big thing to remember though is we dont manifest ourselves with that tandem ....thats the dropzones job!!!.... (well it is at ours )

Why do people call the police to protect them if they don't like the way they do business? The cops didn't just show randomly.

I dont like the way a lot of the cops do business!......What do YOU suggest i do if i my place is getting robbed?.....

We dont exactly have a lot of choice....do we?

If I go down and shoot the guy im going to jail! .... If the police do it they get off.......Simple!
.....And you thought Kiwis couldn't fly!!!!

  12. We had a case in Oz last year i thought was going to end up as a wrongful shooting.....

Woman doing a cash pickup in an armored car was punched in the face by a guy with a pair of knuckle dusters grabbed the money and ran to his car to drive away started to drive off and the woman who had been punched ran up to the car drew her gun up to the window and shot him in the head......??

She didnt go to jail....should she have?

Kelpy..... Thought we were done with that...... The whole reason for those posts was people who thought ww2 was not politically motivated and america entered the war in SELF DEFENSE......

I disagreed and then there was a bit of a slinging match...Its pretty obvious that WW2 isnt really relevant......

The bomb was only going to ever needed to be used once after that its just the threat that will be enough( we hope ) And in MY opinion America wanted to be the first to drop the bomb.... I may be wrong..... But that is just the way i see your country..... Sorry....

    Back on topic then?

I don't think there is a topic anymore.

Of course the US wanted to be first. If it wasn't, it would have been the Nazis. Over London. In war, you always want to be first instead of your enemy. Germany might still have lost due to its inadequete manufacturing capacity, but the recovery would have been much much worse.

And the BS around political motivation hasn't erased that the US entered WWII in response to an attack, both at Pearl and in the Phillipines and other Pacific island bases. Your failure to understand the silliness of saying "politically motivated" continues.

And as you can read in previous posts I think you where at war BEFORE that....The order to fire upon the germans BEFORE Japan attacked you and other moves both legal and illegal to aid the war effort....The decision had already been made..?

Hmm....after being tazed, the suspect grabbed one of the officers' batons and punched him in the face. Sounds justified to me.

So taking a life can be justified if you get punched in the face?

You've obviously never been hit in the head with a baton. FYI, there's a *REASON* why a club (or baton) is considered a deadly weapon.

So by that reasoning when the police jumped out of the car clubs in hand ready to whale on him ( eyewitness account?)....He would have been justified to kill them?

Good info. How much do you think would you need to grind down to fit the Raynox lens? Too much?

Before i was able to test the CX7 cookie box with a Raynox 5050, the lens got ripped off my camera by risers during a very shitty opening on the first jump of the day last weekend... oddly nothing on the camera was broken, the threads still in tact and not even a scratch...

Any Royal or Liquid lens fit very well in the box and doesnt stick out much at all. Of course the HD irresolution suffers with that type of lense, but...

I just re drilled the bottom screw forward a few cms.....
I guess i could have put a 37 - 37 adapter to space it out but i wasnt sure if that would affect the picture?.....

Was it side mounted or top when it got ripped off??
