  1. i say USB. for compatability, cost effectiveness, and for what you'd be doing there would only be about a 2-3 min difference (maybe less). if you're gonna be working with LARGE files, like multiple gigs, then consider firewire. the speed difference is pretty negligible for what you'd be using it for. (imo) of course. mel

    Lasix?

i didnt read the whole thread so this may have already been said: its worked wonders on a LOT of my friends, but be REEEAAALLY careful where you go. there have been specials run on the major tv networks about bad procedures and clinics. they're everywhere, and a lot of the "doctors" are performing the procedure without really examining the client;not everyone can benefit from it. make sure you go somewhere reputable... by word of mouth, not advertisement. but im sure you would do that anyway. just wanted to give a heads up..apparently theres some pretty shady shit going on. mel
  3. i put in 50 it seems like so little compared to what they need! i wish there was more i could do!!! but... every little bit counts! if theres anything else i can do just let me know....god bless, and many prayers for a speedy recovery from all of this!
  4. i'm real new to the skydiving world, and to the dz.com world, and i dont know anyone personally out in elsinore. but i do website design, database design, and stuff like that and would be more than happy to set up a donation site for people to donate to a "new gear fund" for all you guys. or funds for whatever else may not be covered by the insurance. if anyone would be interested in starting something like that just PM me. big hugsand hopes for a quick recovery to everyone out there!!
  5. another update: the fluid in jackie's lungs, which i think was brought on by the allergic the reaction, caused CHF (congestive heaart failure). her body was unable to get rid of the fluid on its own. to help with that, a surgical procedure was done last night to insert a tube into her chest. while doing that, the tube punctured her right lung, causing it to collapse. the tube is in place, and doing its job, but they cant manage to reinflate the lung, so she is on another breathing machine. it is my understanding that she is once again awake and stable, but is listed as critical. ill post again when i hear something more. love, [[[[[[hugs]]]]]] and (((((((((vibes)))))))) darlin'!
  6. from the very brief convo's i have had with her mom, id definately say yes. ive only been talking to jackie for about a week. when i talked to her mom today she asked if id be doing the jump with her, and even mentioned something about jumping herself! i think shes going to be ok with just about anything that will make her happy...thats what great moms are made of!
  7. because of the type of room shes in flowers and other stuff like that arent allowed, and her mom has requested that any best wishes or things of that sort be emailed to [email protected]. as soon as she's moved to a regular room her mom let me know that an address/phone number will be available for cards and calls, and then flowers can be sent and all that stuff! the emails will reach her; her aunt will be printing them out and will make sure she sees em. and the family also said thank you for caring enough to want to do that for her. ill post again when i hear more.
  8. i talked to her mom and aunt today. she doesnt have pneumonia. at first, 2 days ago her symptoms felt like that of the beginnings of pneumonia. unfortunately, what it was was signs of an allergic reaction to a vaccine she was given. they're only given to people with weak immune systems, hers caused by her treatments. anyways, she went into the hospital yesterday morning and her condition worstened. she's stable now, but has a breathing tube in place, and a pretty bad lung infection. im not sure of the specs on that, but ill post again when i know for sure. shes alert and awake, and writing notes when she has something to say. shes cant talk b/c of the tube. she asked that everyone here be thanked for the support and the ongoing PMs and she said she'll talk to everyone thats trying to help her out very soon. on a side note, her mother was very candid with me as far as the seriousness of her condition right now, and it was said that if they cant fight off the infection in her lungs soon, the chances of it happening at all are very slim. so she needs prayers and vibes from everyone!
