  5. OK, I'll link some pictures here for you then. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  6. I have flown in that B-17 before. It was really cool. I don't think the EAA will let you jump from it though. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  7. Yeah, I love Front Page. I realized it was screwed up after someone else complained. It should be fixed now. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  8. Most dropzones are always looking for GOOD jump pilots. Being a skydiver doesn't hurt you. Like everyone else they are not likely to let you start flying an Otter, Skyvan, or Casa right off the bat without enough multi time and time in type. You might be able to work your way up to that though. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.

    I fly

Congrats! Now, I want to solo one of my students in a jump plane by jumping out when he is ready. Of course, there would have to be video. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  10. Here is a link to a few pictures: First Flight of Phil's Super Zodiac The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  11. I was gaining some major ground on a Cessna 172 on downwind. He was abeam the numbers when I turned and I had to slow down and extend my downwind to not run over his slow airplane. Now I just need to locate the static system problem. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  12. Will post pics, as soon as possible. I haven't gotten them from my friend with the digital camera yet. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  13. Uhh.... I already built a real one that takes people and everything. I still think it is too cool that Atlanta Air Sportz is in my airplane testing area! The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  14. I might be in Rome on Friday, but I have a student testing for his licsense this Saturday. If I get to jump at all on Saturday, it might be at Skydive ATL, just because I have two students down there on Saturday. The cool thing is that Rome is in my test area, so I can legally fly my zodiac up there to go jumping! The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  15. I took my Zodiac for it's first flight tonight. Some minor instrument issues (no reliable airspeed, altimeter, vertical speed) made the flight kind of short. Just once around the pattern. It was still fun. After 5.5 years of building, it was a fulfilling experience. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  16. I do something similar. I have about 110 jumps on my Hornet. I don't roll the nose. I do quarter the slider and make sure that it is pulled out to choke off air going into the nose. I also roll the tail 3 or 4 times, but just to keep everything together mostly. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  17. I have a jump on a Tempo 210, loaded just over 1:1. It was a full terminal opening. It flew fine. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  18. It's official. I spoke to the DZO today, and there should be a Caravan at Atlanta Air Sportz this weekend. Doug Glover, from Nemesis will also be coaching for anyone that wants to improve their 4-way skills. I know I'll be there, right after first flight in my airplane! The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  19. I was talking to Doug Glover from Nemesis last night (while flying in his sweeet 206), and he mentioned he was coaching at Air Sportz this weekend May 4th! The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  20. Something you might want to consider. Since the market does suck so bad right now, why spend the big dollars to go to the quicky schools? You could build all those hours for far less money in other ways. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  21. Wow, what a memory. You mean you can actually remember the last time we flew into McCollum? The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  22. You can build from plans, then you only need a little money at a time. The powerplant is usually a huge expense, though. You can't fly any homebuilt for hire, so if you wanted to take a jumper up, you could only hit them up for gas money. Of course, nobody says they can't buy you a beer later. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  23. Test time can be only 25 hours if running both a certified prop & engine. This is at the option of the DAR. Since I have an experimental powerplant (Stratus Subaru EA-81), I will have a 40 hour test period. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  24. Sport Pilot shows promise. At the moment even a Cessna 150 is too heavy to meet the specs. My Zodiac could almost meet the specs if I reduced the gross weight, and it stalled slower (flaps). The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
  25. I flight instruct primarily out of McCollum and Fulton County, but my plane is at Cartersville. Didn't like the thought of losing an engine at McCollum and choosing between landing at the mall, on I-75, Kennesaw Mountain, or US-41! I also like the fact that my tie-down is $35/month, not $90/month and I am going against the flow driving up there from my house. The Dutchboy Phil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
