I'm with JohnRich on this one. If the device were absolutely fool proof and -never- created a problem, then ok, make it mandatory. If however it does have the potential for causing problems, I can't see forcing people to have/use it. Now, personally, I'm -not- going up without an RSL and an AAD. For my experience level and the type of skydiving I'm doing, the benefits outweigh the risks. But that debate is horse well beaten.

Maybe you were connected to a neighbors wireless connection last time and didn't realize it? If you're showing a low signal strength now and you are close to your friends wireless router, then I'm almost positive that you aren't linked up to it. I'm guessing then that you are certainly on the neighbors. So I guess I'm answering with questions then aren't I... - Is your friends wireless connection working for her? - If yes, is it a secured connection that does not broadcast the SSID? - If yes, take a look at her settings to get the SSID and passphrase to get on... once you've entered this on your end, you should be good to go. Certainly has my vote for a great place also. I bought my first used rig there a week ago and Mike made sure to put in the extra time to have it inspected, reserve and main repacked, and shipped out in time for the weekend! I'm also planning to order a new custom rig soon and Mike has been -more- than helpful with that decision making process... he really goes farther than what I would have ever expected. Oh, and of course, the prices rock!

Godaddy is cheap and pretty straight forward as far as usability goes, so they are certainly my top recommendation. I've also had good experiences with domaindirect.com in the past, although I have now transitioned all of my domains to godaddy for consolidation purposes. Mark, Thanks for the reply and the insight into what is going on at UPT... always nice to get it straight from the horse's mouth. :) Therein lies the problem. I'm using a loaner rig right now, but that won't be available much longer... once it is gone, I'm going to have to start renting. My bank account isn't looking forward to that at all, so the number of jumps I'll be able to make will be -drastically- reduced. Seems like if the demand is constantly that high, having a higher capacity for production would give you an edge on the competition. Sooo, I just got off the phone with Square-1 and they quoted the lead time on a Vector order as 25 weeks! (pause for effect...) twenty-five. I was anticipating ~12 weeks, which is no short time when you are gear hungry, but I certainly wasn't ready for 25. Mirage has an estimated 10-12 week time per Square-1, but the Mirage website quotes it as 6-8 weeks, so maybe S1 is adding some buffer in there as a CYA. Regardless, I'm now seriously considering going with Mirage simply because I can't wait on the Vector.
